I'm sure he has heard of DLC, everybody has. But really, night racing as DLC? Bad mistake, it should NOT happen. If there were night racing, it should be on the Disk, period.

I would rather have D. Greenawalt of T10 admit that night racing can't make it to launch due to other issues instead of promising and yet failing to do so. There has been many instances where PD has done those exact things.

Well he better, because Night racing added through DLC is a big no. Not sure what promises PD have kept though.

I don't see what's so bad about DLC, it's not always paid.

Granted given T10's lack of updates/patches I don't see it happening post-launch.

It would have been at least good if it was added through an update, if possible but oh well.

Driving aids are called features. So he was complaining about them creating features.

Well, perhaps I should have inserted a "use", he didn't complain about having to use those features.

I'd like to point out that even without night or weather Forza is still the superior franchise. Gran Turismo hasn't been the best console racing franchise since the PS2, and GT6 probably won't be changing that.

Which is an opinion, not fact.

Gen 7 console sims

Metacritic

92% - Forza 3
91% - Forza 4
90% - Forza 2
84% - Gran Turismo 5
80% - Gran Turismo 5 Prlogue

And you have game journalists like Adam Sessler saying that Forza is the premier console driving sim

Not to mention weather and day/night may not make it to all tracks in GT6 based on the E3 interview

Then you trust Adam's personal opinion or the raw metacritic scores?

Each to their own. Sincerely, I'm glad that the people that really play, like and expend money buying the games have the last word over the success of a title rather than those numbers.

A collection of opinions doesn't make it a fact.

I never understood the high scores that forza gets. The single player game is a complete bore. For that reason alone, it should be marked down. Definitely not worth a 90s score. I understand prologues and GT5 scores. Prologue was marked down for just being part of a game. Despite the low score, I've had more enjoyment from GT5P than any game not called GT5. GT5 got bad scores because it was such an uneven experience. They crammed a ton of stuff in GT5 and got a ton of stuff right and a lot of stuff very wrong. Despite it's flaws, I've had more enjoyment from GT5 than any other game. So in the end, what use is a review score anyway? Everyone has different tastes.

Yeah, no one but me is stating opinion as fact around here... ;)

By the way guys, if you make a post titled "New details confirmed by Turn 10," could you update the first post with the ongoing goodies? I'm not completely, totally, fer sure done with the idea of buying a launch Leashbox and Forza 5. If they did something actually helpful to get me into the car like giving us adjustable driver views, that would sure get my attention.

In your opinion :sly:

GT5 got bad scores because it deserved them, forza 2,3 and 4 got good scores for the exact same reason.

All my opinion of course and you know what they say about opinions 👍

This is the first game on a new system, and it needs to be ready by launch, so I don't expect anything ground breaking. Just the usual changes as 2 to 3 to 4, just a bigger jump in graphics this time. There should be no excuse for Forza 6 though.

I'm sorry, as compared to GT5? The game where you had to struggle early to find a racing Lupo and a truck to even progress? The game where you get stuck at level 23/24 and have to grind to get to the endurance races? And then have to grind endurance races to complete? Let's not even go near that the amount of content in the single player game in FM4 is far higher than GT5, and neither of them have it presented in anything beyond a "here's some races, best of luck" manner.

If you're gonna have an opinion, at least make it a rational one.

Yeah, I don't understand how anyone can think GT5's career mode is better. The bolded part is one of my biggest problems with GT5's single player. It doesn't have enough events to support it's broken level system without having to grind, especially at release. It also doesn't help the game stupidly restricts you from events and cars until you're at a high enough level. It was a nightmare before seasonals stepped in. And it's still broken for people who don't have an Internet connection. But even seasonals are just a band-aid fix to a bigger problem. Why are there not enough actual races and special events to participate in, instead of these boring and glorified time trials?

Uh...whut?!

Night driving only as DLC...now I'm super-pissed!

If Microsoft is planning to do one this generation, then the PS4 it is!
Calm down, jeez. All Phil did was present his assumption for whatever odd reason & you ran with it as a fact.

I came into here from the GT vs Forza thread expecting discussion of just Forza. Man you guys just can't help it can you?

I wouldn't expect anything more if I were you. The only thread that hasn't gotten infected is the E3 thread I made.

Since I don't agree with you, I'm not being rational? Give me a break.

Yes, A-spec sucked in GT and B-spec sucked even worse but the special events and license tests were a lot of fun. I did most of those first and almost never had to struggle progressing through a-spec or b-spec. Forza doesn't have special events or license tests. You go from race to poorly planned race. Most of which are too short and on shortened versions of tracks (at least early on). None have any meaning. Who really cares if there are a lot more races in Forza when they are all crap to begin with. It's all just more of the same. Both GT and forza are going to have to take a major step forward with their career mode because they both suck.

There was plenty in between ranging from bowling to auto cross.

I thought this was the GT vs Forza thread O.o

 It seems like it's turning out to be one.

I'm going to have agree with this. Both games events were fun, but they're both just boring IMO.

EDIT: I honestly believe we're going WAAAAY off topic here people...

The bowling sucked. The auto cross was pretty cool, I'll give you that. But neither made up for the crappy races.

You're forgetting multi-class events, passing challenge events, and Mountain Chase & Nurburgring Challenge events. Not every event in Forza is a simple race with the AI. If you don't like FM4's career mode, fine. But at least give full credit for everything it does.

Multiclass events were a fabulous idea with awful implementation. The races were too short for it too really even matter that you had more than one class. You want to call Nurburgring Challenge events a good thing after they butchered the nurburgring? But all of that is beside the point. In the single player, you just jump around from event to event with no real rhyme nor reason. There is no reason to feel like any of the events mean anything. They are all just strung together. What I want to see in a game is a real single player career. Where you start off low (say karts) and work your way through the ranks. Where you are not expected to go from last to first every race. Where the events are organized to have some meaning. If neither GT or Forza are willing to do it maybe pcars or AC will.

Sheesh, you guys are the worst.

I see your point. I did feel a little bored of FM4's carrer at times. But it just wasn't as bad as GT5's to me. FM5 is said to have "unique careers" so hopefully, the whole single player has gotten an overhaul.

You're going the other way, Turn 10! I really, really liked the auction house, too :grumpy:. I hope there is something better to replace it.

Did you even bother playing the World Tour mode & not just the Events List?

It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure the game started off with hot hatches & low end sports cars before it jumped into supercars & LMPs. And there were plenty of races where it was difficult to go from last to first without playing bumper cars.

All I read in your post was really just an attempt to continue disregarding Mou's point that was more than valid, with silly excuses for why you still clinched to your original point & then tried to end it with a conclusion that neither game did it right. The simple point though, was in comparison between GT5 & FM4's career modes, FM4 offered a highly more diverse & difficult layout. The only thing you could give GT credit for was the license tests.

After two weeks that's the best that you could come up with?

I have to say that I'm really annoyed that there's still no weather effects nor nightime racing in Forza. What does Turn 10 have against those features anyway?

Every other racing game I've played has either one of those features and didn't the original Forza have night courses?
