While it looks impressive, I wish they hadn't gone quite so far with the sunshine and glare -- the lens flare implies our driver is actually a robot with a camera and we're driving by remote control from the pits.

That said, it still looks stunning.

I could do without the lens flare as well. That takes away from the immersion of actually being in the car.

God you just get more and more ridiculous. Upgrades, tuning, time trials, online, photomode, pause menu, livery editor, brake lights havnt been confirmed either, I predict they wont be in the game.

Hell, the game date hasnt even been confirmed so I predict it wont even come out.

:dopey::dopey: :lol: Stop making me laugh.

Big new improvement in Forza series and nobody talk about , is the presence of " humans " like team crew , mechanos , girls and pilot .
Forza was always just a "Ghost car game " without the humans feeling and emotion ...Now , we can feel a little the emotion and pressure before the race cuz " humans " surround the car , they care of pilot/the player .
It's a detail but i think its very important because its humans who create and build cars and make a race possible .
I Hope that Turn10 will insist including " humans " with good motion capture and maybe , realistic PIT STOP ! ( with cable and every thing ... )

This post is very true. No one really bothered highlighting the fact that there is better animation.

I wonder if this will make it's way into the pits?

Utterly mind boggling and sheer diappointment... what a big 🤬 sandwich!

The "not having weather for physics reason" I can understand. But no night driving..AGAIN!?? WTF T10???

Hmm...time to consider going back to GT.

Is there any news of the track list yet? If they plan to recyle over 80% of the same tracks, well...even bigger reason to go back to GT.

P.s: saw a gameplay vid of FM5 on gamespot I believe. Looks like they've cured the steering wheel and gear shift animation!

Well odds are if they have open wheel they've reworked quite a bit of the phsyics engine, given that was the only reason given for the lack of them before. And a physics engine as complex as Forza's isn't exactly a few keystrokes to make. Maybe they didn't have time to test the tires on wet surfaces, or maybe they just wanted to make sure it worked the way it should on dry tarmac before they pushed it with wet. There are a lot of reasons that could be behind it. Honestly, I'd rather it not be there at all than to get all excited then have it start raining and feel the disappointment I felt with GT5s wet weather physics.

The no night racing is disappointing, though. Not too fused about it, but it would've been great to have.

EDIT: And judging by the way he was talking about open wheel, it sounds like he's really excited to show what they've done with the options that opens up. So looking forward to hearing more on that.

And the high accuracy laser scanned tracks should be awesome. Hopefully they don't take any 'creative freedom' twists the way they did with the 'Ring in the previous Forza's.

I'm sure T10 will have night dlc. The XB1 should be capable of doing such with the specs it has.

Burnout paradise did it somehow.

That's one plus side of having an always on system with a minimum 500GB system. Developers were limited to 4MB updates on the 360 so they were never able to update games like Forza the same way PD was able to with GT.

Pourquoi serait-T10 nous faire ça? Donnez-moi plox météo!

Someone's photoshop?

Yeah I wouldn't look to deep into that.

Yeah, it's a photoshop. But a 🤬 good one.
Imagine if this is what next gen has in store for us

The game comes out in November for anyone that does not know. Confirmed in the Week in Review

That has changed. Title updates on 360 are allowed to be bigger now and huge updates can be delivered as DLC.

I'd like to point out that even without night or weather Forza is still the superior franchise. Gran Turismo hasn't been the best console racing franchise since the PS2, and GT6 probably won't be changing that.

All of which is totally opinion, and therefore he's entitled to choose whatever he wants. Pointing out that you think it's a better game is nice, but let him think what he wants 👍

Also, I really wouldn't say that GT6 won't change the way the cards stack up because both games are still months away. It's too soon.

Enough of that because this is the wrong thread for that, back OT:

FM5 looks beautiful but I truly am disappointed about the Day/Night and Weather, just like many others.

Weather is understandable but I feel that T10 could've easily spent the time they did with all the Top Gear stuff to make the wet weather physics correct.

As for day/night, no excuse. Games from 2001 did it, and did it damn well. It's been too long for them to go and not add this feature.

This is such a common misconception about game development. You understand that the guys who worked on the TG stuff are not the same guys who worked on the physics right? And many of them probably would not be useful in that environment, because coding physics is different than coding menus is different from coding career is different from coding TG content. So having those guys not work on the TG stuff doesn't mean they'd be working on the physics, it just means that they wouldn't be working on the TG stuff.
It's not like everyone on the dev team is equally capable of working on any part of the game...

Things like open wheel cars are just making it now in F5, active aero parts last game I think. Anything major in-engine seems to take a long time.

I think it's maybe down to how Forza 2 and 3 were carry overs being slightly modified as the Xbox was pretty powerful and they do a game every 2 years. I would hope now its undergoing major overhaul and bare bones for now or at least the next game is.

Chucking rain in would drop fps like Dan said pretty much.

PGR4 and GRID are still technically impressive sadly. The weather in pgr, GRID smoke effects and damage. The environments have deformable tyre walls, tyres can pop out and bounce around. You look at GT5 and other games they have a flat low res texture that is solid. very crude, invisble walls everywhere like a game stuck in 1990s.

When these two games came on the scene in 2007/8 I expected even more for newer games and a new standard was set technology wise but damage, weather implemention, particle effects, environment detail are done crudely or not done at all in newer games in the genre.

So I'm curious what those day/night people were working on? The new lighting engine?

...see, that reasoning can apply to just about any feature ;). I will agree that it shouldn't be nearly as hard to incorporate as weather, but for whatever reason, it seems to be, at least now. I am disappoint.

That would be a decent guess, sure.

Uh...whut?!

Night driving only as DLC...now I'm super-pissed!

If Microsoft is planning to do one this generation, then the PS4 it is!

Have you not heard of DLC? If not you have been living under a rock when it comes to console news.

I'm sure he has heard of DLC, everybody has. But really, night racing as DLC? Bad mistake, it should NOT happen. If there were night racing, it should be on the Disk, period.

Oh, if GT6 doesn't include a livery editor (a PROPER one) they deserve to get every bit as much crap for that as Forza gets for not including day/night. Both are features that should absolutely be included in a AAA racing game in 2013.
