Lotus will be using a Exige GT3 car, this will be a crazy but good car for Lotus's return. In GT Racing. I found this out in AutoSport mag.

2005, the year of the returning legends. first Aston Martin comes back, then Maserati comes back, then mazda comes back, and Porsche Comes back. now its lotus. sounds cool for them to come back into gt racing. what does the exige GT3 car look like?

Only for its headlights, rear lights. And some other parts, other then that the rest looks more different. But i reckon the Exige GT3 will have that V6, they were talking about a cople months back.

I also know Spyker will be in FIA GT racing next year. aswell as a car from Venturi in a GT3 version. And also from what I heard some TVR Sagaris's will be in FIA GT racing next year.

Ok since I have now changed this too another title name, i will try and keep people up to date. On any other cars that should be racing in FIA GT racing next season, something else i just found.

There well could be a Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 from (Reiter Engineering) racing next year aswell. and also you should be able to buy a Lamborghini Gallardo GT3R for the road. Hopfully the GT3R will be out next year.

But the Venturi car will be called the Venturi GT3 Heritage from reports. And some good news for people who love, there Aston Martins well next season there will be a Aston Martin DBS9 (Prodrive) racing aswell in FIA GT Racing.

The Ferrari 430 Challange will probably be tested out and entered during next season. It shall replace the 360 I believe.

I know about the 430, it would be kool if someone entered a 612. I,m just glad the Sagaris is in it next year.

Is the Sagaris 100%? That would be awesome! In what class will it race?

And what happend to the Murcielago R-GT? Did they just give up on it?

Not FIA GT/GT3, but a couple of places are reporting that Luc Alphand will campaign a Corvette in the LMS and Le Mans next year. Whether it's a C5-R or a C6.R, we don't yet know. But still, as a Corvette fan, it will be nice to see another 'Vette out there kicking tail. I just wish they would sell one to a competitive ALMS team.

Have you thought it crashed out and was out for the rest of the season mate.

Its the Exige Vip not the elise racing. But Sagaris has to be the most mean looking of the bunch, hopfully the Exige and Sagaris race in Brit GT next year folks.

What i want to know, is when will the 215MPH Typhon be racing in FIA GT.

A couple of sites are reporting that Aston Martin will have two teams racing the DBRS9 in FIA GT3. BMS Scuderia Italia and former BTCC team Barwell Motorsports will each enter three cars. (5 cars - 2 DBR9 GT1 and 3 DBRS9 - for BMS Scuderia Italia, they'll have a lot on their plate next year.)

But if you think about it from the off the Exige and Sagaris have been light weight cars as road cars. Which should help with them being in the FIA GT, since they use to the handling at light weight racing or not.

But on the road a DB9 weighes more, so it is much more harder for it to get use to light weight racing. But i always r00t for any of the British cars in the FIA GT and Brit GT.

TVR have been waffling on about the Typhoon and Sagaris being entered for a while now and the T440 and T400 were just test beds. But as such a small company the projects have been kept on putting off. It'll be interesting to see if they get their act together this year but I doubt it.
That'll be kool about the lotus Exige, they were supposed to enter an old Lotus GT1 (from 1998!) last year with Johnny Herbert driving it or something but never got round to it.
On the subject of lightweight cars and GT racing...my opinion is from what I've noticed (i could be very much wrong) the lightweight cars that have entered GT racing which started out light on the road had relatively small engines. Not a problem on the road but when it came to track racing the bigger engined GT cars were superior. I remember when lotus had the Esprit GT1 in GT racing. That thing was quick! It showed up some of the big boys for its day (talking about F40's, McLaren F1's Porsche 911 GT1). It was relatively heavy and had a big engine. Then they brought out the Elise GT1 which was lighter but had a lot smaller engine. That thing struggled.
So we'll see.
But should be good.
I heard a bunch of rumours last year about this year but forgotten them. Grape vine has it Lister might be pulling the plug on the Storm in FIA GT, as it's bey expensive to run and they've developed it as much as they can and its uncompetitive now. I think they want to concentrate on the prototype for Le Mans. Well thats what I read 5 months ago on their forums.

The Sagaris looks bloody sexy.
The Elise was the special one off lotus made for some malaysian dude I think. Had some 500bhp engine! mental.

VIP, the one you posted was Proton's Exige that races in SuperGT in Asia.

The FIA GT3 class is sort of a dumb idea, where they have guidelines on who can drive the cars and who can't, it's more of a gentlemans series.

Here is the Lotus Exige GT3-class car:

Here are the other cars competing in the GT3 class

showimg225ux.jpg

Viper, Gallardo, Ascari KZ1, Maserati, Aston Martin DBRSPGWNASOGHJTS-9, 997, ZO6, 350Z, Exige.

There is another entry from Venturi, but I guess they missed that track session.

Looked on the FIA GT website. Found the testing times for the cars

Aston Martin DBR9 2:14.669

Dodge Viper 2:14.938

Porsche 997 2:15.765

Maserati Gran Sport 2:18.252

Lamborghini Gallardo 2:18.316

Ascari KZ01 2:19.804

Nissan 350Z 2:21.172

Lotus Exige 2:25.513

Intersting the Lotus over 10seconds off the pace. That's a massive margin per lap. Ok Paul Riccard is quite a quick circuit but still, wouldn't epect a lap margin of that much.

Does anybody know much about this new GT3 world championship? I'm tryin to find details about it, but nout.

Lots of good information there.

The series looks promising. It's what I wish Stephane Ratel would do with the GT1 and GT2 classes; make the cars closer to their production-based models. The only thing I don't like is the regulation that team HAVE to enter three cars each. Yes, that's great for grid numbers, but I would rather see teams enter two good cars than three mediocre cars.

The link doesn´t lead anywhere.
But I know what it is, so I just add this link from the testdrives of new FIA GT3 Class where a Nissan 350Z joined up! There is a typo on the DRS9 in the timetable, as it´s labeled DBR9, but never mind.

Strange, it worked last night when I tried it after I posted it. Wierd.

Still, it's a very interesting presentation about what looks to be a very promising class. Still not sure I agree with S. Ratel's reasoning behind it, though.

I didn't know Venturi existed anymore.

Glad they do! 👍

The FIA site has plenty of info on it (there's a PDF link). Keep looking.

There a problem lies itself. I should of mentioned, my uni computer doesn't have acrobat. Hence why I couldn't find nout ;).

Hello lads!
I didn´t know where to ask this, but this seemed like a good spot, so here it goes; does anyone one have pics and info on the new Bucharest track by Tilke, wich FIA GT is set to open their season on? I searched all over and came up with virtually nothing, so any info provided would be nice. Thanks!
