Why don´t you do us a favor and don´t buy the game at all.

I heard that there are great prices on Shift and Underground 2.
So, because I don't like the paddle shifting movement, and therefore may not use those cars, I'm not allowed to buy GT5? Is that what you're saying?

Nobody forbid you to buy it.
But in your case it might be safer not to.
You might, for example, dislike something in the menu, how will you not use the menu??

What you doing on Gran Turismo Planet when your saying the game is bad and talking about NFS as if it is better.

I even took the time to give you the link.

Hold it right there. Where did I say GT5 is bad, and where did I say NFS is more realistic?

You obviously don't know me, so I'd suggest you stop throwing words in my mouth.

You can do whatever you like. Not using a car because you really don't like the overall looks and/or performance, fair enough, but based purely on the shifting animation...puh'lease!

unbelievable...as mentioned the shifting animation is there the way it is as to prevent akward motions when the player decides to do something irregular; the way it is it looks composed and great.

Get over it...find something useful to complain about; I'm more than happy we at least have an animation!

NF Shift has some pretty good shifting animations

They make the same mistake as Forza though, in that when the wheel is turned 90 degrees, the fingers act as if the paddles are at the top of the wheel rather than the side & it seems PD would rather go for realism.

I'm not saying NFS or Forza are bad though, seeing as the steering wheel probably never turns more than 45-50 degrees at speeds over 30Mph in either game (can't honestly speak for NFS), so the shifting animation looks fine otherwise. A fair trade-off imo, but PD are perfectionists.

Yes, I may be ridicilous, but I really find that shifting movement to be wierd and disturbing. That's my personal opinion.

Anyway, this chifting animation is the only thing I've complained about in GT5, so people have no right to tell me not to buy the game. I've never even mentioned Need For Speed Shift, so I have no idea where people catched that from!?

I've played Gran Turismo since the first game came out back in 1998 and I own every title. It's the I only games I've truly loved, and still do. The only games I think is probably more realistic than GT5 will be, is iRacing and NetKar Pro (although I've never tried them).

I'm probaly more hyped about GT5 than most of you guys. So please, chriz92, snicker3s and hampus_dh, check my posting history before you bring your "taken from the air" statements next time. Thank you. :)

Honestly when that game is in your machine and your involved in a tense race, eyes focused on the road the animations will take a back seat. Youl be suprised how quick you can forget em.

To be fair, people have the right to say whatever they like. However...when people tell you to not buy something, what they really mean is that they are incapable of coming up with a rational counter-debate, so simply take the, "if you don't like it, do whatever" approach. Rise above it ;)

We are all hyped for the game Strittan. A lot of what goes on here is purely down to frustration, and now that we have had an influx of news, people are just venting.

Perhaps you're right. I'll be more than happy if you are, because the day I can find out, I have the game!

Wise words indeed. I think that statement there will ultimately cover up a lot of peoples "uncertainties" towards the game. Speculating about it, and owning it are two entirely different things!

To people that think it's impossible for the game to know at which position is the wheel, please try using your brain before you start typing. Wheel constantly exchanges information with the game(console)both ways, if it didn't, you couldn't use the wheel to steer(wheel>game) and there wouldn't be force feedback and other effects(game>wheel) to tell you what's happening.
Anyway, there should definitely be two types of animation on cars with fixed pedals, and that is, one kind when they are within reach(hands stay on the wheel)and the other, sort of like it is now, but much faster and more fluid/natural while hands aren't within the reach of pedals. It really isn't that hard at all, and should've been done already, because as it is, it looks as if the person driving is either retarded, distracted or suffering from some nerve disease...
p.s. even on cars with moving pedals, animation is stiff and too slow right now...

Pretty good?? aside of the accuracy problems look at the hands, there is no animation just an unrealistic jump from "hand at wheel" to "gear change"... :yuck:

People complaining never heard about the gear anticipation animation in Prologue? that work to avoid delayed or wonky animations like the video above and at the same time to give a good reference for manual shifting in cockpit view.

That's not what he said though, is it?

No your right, he didn't say thats what he wanted, and I never said he did, but he didn't say anything, he just stated that he thought another game had good shifting animations, what of it?
