As long as it's not a another dressed-up, limited edition Murcielago with scant performance benefit over the existing model, that sells for triple the asking price...

I don't think that it would be the return of the Miura.. maybe Lambo has created a GT car?

"It's not just a new Lamborghini. It's a new world."

It doesn't seem to be that high off the ground, so can't realistically be a LM002 replacement.

I'm gonna go with... DB9/SL63 competitor. A long-distance GT that'll slot in between the Gallardo and Murcielage.

I'm going with a Corsa/Fiesta competitor based on a shortened A3 platform using the 1.4 TSi VAG engine. It will be called the Moscalardio.

Low exhaust and low diffuser mean there's something above them. 2+2 GT, "4-door coupe," borderline sedan, tight, small lightweight roadster... Keep in mind that there's probably a boot just above the provided picture.

I can't see Porsche allowing Lambo to build a competitor to their incoming Panamerica.

That's true, but front-engined GT seems unlikely as nothing of that sort has been seen testing and 2+2 GT with midship layout hasn't been marketed in forever, barring the recent Lotus Evora, so who knows. I think the only prototype Lamborghini we've seen was hinting at Murcielago SV, however that could've just been a drivetrain platform for whatever this is (big container regardless of seating layout). Does anyone have shots of that car to see where the exhaust exit is?

They allowed the Gallardo and R8.

They were conceived before Porsche took a commanding stake in VAG. Actually having said that, i'm not sure if Porsche's stake allow them enough direct say in what any of the other VAG owned groups - SEAT, Audi, Lambo etc, can or can't do.

I think they only get the word in the companies that VW has a major stake in... Last I recall, Porsche hadn't claimed enough of Audi to make it worthwhile, which still gave them some autonomy.

My guess?

Its a Ferrari California competitor.

Thanks for the thread title fix. :)

Only 2 more weeks 'till we find out what it is. Well probably sooner... I'm sure at some point someone from the inside will leak cellphone photos of some sort.

Last night I read that Lamborghini are always looking into the future, rather than looking back in the past and for that reason they wont bring back any old model names. Keep in mind that the Muira concept was never going to be produced. I'm not 100% sure if this is true or not, so I guess we'll see when the Paris Motorshow comes around.

Last I heard about Porsche upping their stake again in VW, they were also looking at purchasing a majority share in Audi, which would indicate that they either didn't have the control over Audi they wanted or that they didn't have much of any control.

What are the chances of this being just some bizarre concept?

Interesting. It has more of a front engined shape to it from what i can make out.

And it most definately has brakes. Intriguing...

It leads me to believe, again, that its some kind of California competitor. Plus, the PZero tires are a bit "extreme" for a sedan, don't you think? Either way, its a pretty interesting puzzle that is unfolding in front of our eyes...

Not really. PZeros aren't any more extreme than a PS2 or RE050 varient and those tires are OEM on lots of sedans.

I agree that it's likely to be front-engined because of the vent.

^ The vent could also signify brake vents, it may not always signify that it is front-engined.

-> I may think that this is the Murcielago SV. :dunce:

I dunno, if it was another Murcielago it wouldnt be so discreetly hidden and such. Even the Reventon wasnt this under wraps..

its gonna be a 2+2

I think pzeroes are awful tires compared to other popular summer tyres. Perhaps they are different to the type that used to get fitted on cupras.
