Strange, the AI in these races actually drive slower than in the last Seasonal. You can beat these races with cars in the 600-650pp range on R/H tires (easily if the Jaguar isn't in front.) Laptimes on Grand Valley Speedway for the lead AI car were about 4 seconds slower this time, but with a 700pp car. On the previous A-Spec challenge, the lead opponents were typically around 645pp and it was tough to beat their laptimes using the same cars on the same tires.

Anyway, I can see myself accumulating several million credits on Spa testing all kinds of race cars... 👍

I used the Mazda 787B. Will probably do it all again tomorrow using the Chappy 2J, then maybe the Corvette Z1 RM, then maybe the Chappy 2D, then maybe a Stock Zonda R, then maybe.......

BTW did anyone else find the SSR5 track to be exceptionally dark? I was bouncing off walls in the mazda simply because I couldn't see anything. That hairpin left in the middle of the track was the worst, I had no idea where the turn in was, let alone the apex....

I just beat the XJR-9 on Grand Valley Speedway by 22 seconds.

In a CT230R.

My, are the AI having the day off or something?

I guess with RS tyres and not stock.

raVer

Indeed. Still, I'm beating it with much lesser than everyone else is regardless...

Suzuka was a little closer but not much. Eifel was quite close actually, had good fun trying to catch the XJR-9 and beat it by 2 seconds in the end.

I know! I was going into that corner absoloutley blind, thatwas my first race on that track to!

i luv the tickets they are giving now! i hope they keep doing it...!

I won the first race, but then the game froze before the rewards screen and i had to quit the game. Another bug or bad luck?

I completed the first 4 fine, but twice in a row i have won the eifel race and the results page takes ages to show - my car just trundles around at 49mph until I eventually get a black screen with just sound effects. Anyone else with this problem?

EDIT: nevermind; left it for 10mins and it sorted itself out.

EDIT: now its stuck on the black GT screen! AAGGHH!!

Well, I have to Zonda's R... may its time to crash one. It feels like tonight is as good as any other to do it :D

Let's try Spa with a tuned road car then. Maybe a Viper ACR, Enzo or Speed 12 can stll manage a win here.

How much XP points per event? Approximatively?

I was writing them down while I was doing them, then on the last 2 races I completely forgot how to write, but for the 3 I did:

Spa - 65800
Suzuka - 58600
Eifel - 51200

They are assuming a 200% login bonus.

Completed using a de-tuned FGT ;)

Overkill, I know, but anything is fair game in my mind as long as I use the same tires and disable SRF.

I used the CLK LM race car @693pp. stock turbo full areo

After i ran them with race hards I went back and did SPA with-
Sport Soft Tires/ CLK LM Race Car @ the same pp. Had to adjust the lsd some for tire spin. When I caught the leader on the end of lap 2 he just slowed down. I won by 23 seconds. No cutting. 2:15.xxx laps. No driving aids but abs-1.

Wow, that's not a lot!

A great challenge is taking the r34 tc stage 3 turbo, restrict it to 650 pp and racing mediums.

The Mclaren f1 gtr makes for a great chase to the finish.

The track is grand valley by the way.

Mazda 787B with third stage turbo. Had a little difficult on Eifel because I kept sliding onto the grass. Otherwise, I completed this in under an hour.

Quick run through earlier with Mclaren F1 Stealth and won all races except Silver on Special Stage 5. I've given the car an oil change to take it up to 640pp and will have another go later tonight.

Did the Grand Valley with the 787B, won by like 25 seconds :/ The settings were completely off - especially for tight corners, I was all over the place.

Used the R35 GT-R TC for the second race at special stage, came 3rd (+4sec to 1st), nudged the top speed up a bit and did some minor suspension fiddling for the second race and won by 2 seconds :)

Will try the rest of the races tomorrow, so far seems like a nice seasonal. I'm only at 110% rewards as well since I haven't played for like a week so I'll probably be racing these ones again in the future :)

I won all 5 races in an Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo with a stage 3 turbo and maximum downforce giving a 625pp rating. I generally took the lead around the 3rd lap, so the racing was reasonably close!! :)

If you want an easy ride though, the Chaparral 2J absolutely steam rollers the field!!

All races complete! My car of choice was my tuned Mazda 787B. I did six races (Suzuka twice) and won all six. At Special Stage Route 5 and Suzuka, I had spun out and had to bounce back to win. I knew if one of the "Typical Opponents" was going to be a car like the Jaguar XJ-R9, I knew I had to bring some firepower to make it a semi-fair fight. I don't like losing, especially races I know I can/could win.

But no worries- I enjoyed my time in this Seasonal. I may bring my Peugeot 908 HDi FAP next and prep it up to take on the Dream Car Championship.

Its still mad easy, first time through with a GT ford did it.

I might try it with the BMW DTM car, its around 580pp that might be fun?

As for the Peuguot, if your not leading by lap 3 turn the PS off, it anhialates the opposition. Thats out of the box too, no adjustments at all.

RX-7 TC Racing hards is a great fun race race. Well for me it is.

Have a 587PP 458 Italia to try next. That may be a tougher call.

I think its a great Seasonal. There are so many cars that fall in the 580 to 650 catagory that I use regularly. Thats exactly what I've been looking forward to with a Spa race.

Used the Zonda r, Jag XJR9, Sauber and the Bentley fully modded on RS without shame!!
Once I have free time, then I'll bring the bhp and pp down:tup:

I fancy trying the 458 Italia too:nervous:

Won it with Nissan R390 GT1 Race car only oil change and Medium Race slicks tires was quite easy and fun specialy SSR5 and Spa got a second Fairlady Z Concept LM race car as reward
Toughest opponent was Jag XJR-9 LM race car in 3 of 5 events

Won with the Zonda LM, stock with all default settings, RH tires, ABS 1, all other aids off. Took two tries each track, mostly because I'm still getting used to driving without the flashing gear/brake indicator, LOL. Odd thing about the Eifel track is it reset my TC to 5 for some reason, so I had to switch it back off ... wish the game would just remember preferred settings permanently. Fun events, I liked the Eifel track a lot.

I've found the DLC touring cars are pretty fun for this one.
Work your way down the list (R35 TC to the TOYOTA PRIUS TC) and adjust your tire selection depending on if the Jaguar XJR-9 shows up.

How low can you go?

Completed using a de-tuned FGT ;)

Overkill, I know, but anything is fair game in my mind as long as I use the same tires and disable SRF.

Used the FGTalso, but way too fast, making for easy win. Wish we could use the F1 Ferraris again cause they're useless now.

750pp you say PD? Oh I guess I shall use My Handy dandy Toyoyta Minolta to crush them ..UPDATE.. Minolta scores EASY cr on this event.Had to spend a few mill cr to enter this event so the cr didnt go to waste.Guess I can start stocking up on ncd cars real fast to burn a few more mill cr..lol.Rarely get to use this beast of a car.. 1 of the BEST cars in the GT5!!!!!When grinding seasonal events, its not about competition, its about EASY CR... Thumbs up on this event.HUGE EASY CR.!!!!!!
