Ditto. Won it easily it my now-rarely-used Toyota Minolta :)

The Mclaren F1 GTR race car unmodified on race hard tires is a mighty fine racing car. Just saying.

Took the opportunity to bust out the Zanavi NISMO Z.

Grand Valley. Selected the stage 3 turbo for 640PP. Race Hard tires. No aids except ABS1. Beat the XJR-9 by 10 seconds. Guess I'll drop down to the stage 1 turbo...

SSR5. Dialed it back to stock turbo (614PP) and beat the XJR-9 by 1.4 seconds at SSR5. That seems about right, although SSR5 is about my least favorite track and I am not fast there.

Spa. Won by 8.7 seconds over the Zonda LM. I need to run this track more. I'm still not hitting the braking points consistently.

Suzuka. For this race I had to enter a couple of times to get the XJR-9 on pole. I wound up getting both XJR-9 and Zonda LM. I nipped the Zonda on lap 3 and took the XJR-9 on lap 4. Final margin was 6 seconds. I haven't run Suzuka much since Prologue. The curbs now upset the car alot more. I like it.

Eifel. As usual PD's custom track is FAIL. All the serious corners (which is only 3) have huge humps. The NISMO Z didn't have enough juice with the stock turbo for a track this fast. I bumped back to the stage 3 turbo. I wound up beating the Jag by 10 seconds but mostly I just wanted to get this crap track done.

... wish the game would just remember preferred settings permanently.

I wish it would stop switching me to auto transmission every time I run a B-spec race. :dunce:

Too easy with the Sauber Merc in Grand Valley. Going to try lower pp options for the other races.

I brought the Peugeot 908 just for this reason lol

Smashed it in the Minolta, best car to get it over and done with quickly lol

Would like to know with which settings you guys driving? What are you putting on and off ?

Abs on 1 everything else off.

RX7 TC on 606pp for me is an awesome race. I did have to go RS tyres on the Eifel race as that Jag is super fast there. For the others though RH tyres are fine. Even at Eifel if theres no Jag RH's are fine.

The 458 at 578pp with RH on Spa was fun. I can win there even with the Jag on pole but I can't at the others if the Jag turns up.

I'm not as good as I am at Spa must stop just racing Spa online and give some other tracks a go. :)

I used a Corvette Z06 RM with RH tires to win them all. Eifel was the closest one, but I made a few mistakes. I fully modded it to 676pp , just incase the Jag showed up, and it did in every race except SS5. Eifel actually had both the Zonda LM and the Jag in it. I won Eifel by just under 2 secs. The rest were won by 8-20 secs.

I tried last night to find the lowest PP car that could win the seasonal.

I got all the way to a Stock LFA with an oil change and Racing Hards before I finished second at Spa. I think I could win if I wasn't so distracted by the LFA's Tachometer. My last two laps were 2:21 and 2:20 when I finally cleared traffic and was running down the leader. I was 4 seconds behind the Jag at the finish but had laps of 2:28 and 2:27 earlier in the race....

¿Has anyone noticed that when the Jag is not in the grid this event is too easy?

The fastest car is the Zonda LM (in abscence of the Jag, of course) and can be easily beated... Last night has tried in SPA with the R35 TC... too easy... then RX7 TC... still easy...

Beat that Jaguar XJR-9 LM Race Car on Grand Valley, in a maxed out Gallardo minus the racing exhaust.
(Gotta hear that Lamborghini V10 ;))

I used the Toyota GT-One from the OCD. It was easy.

750pp you say PD? Oh I guess I shall use My Handy dandy Toyoyta Minolta to crush them ..UPDATE.. Minolta scores EASY cr on this event.Had to spend a few mill cr to enter this event so the cr didnt go to waste.Guess I can start stocking up on ncd cars real fast to burn a few more mill cr..lol.Rarely get to use this beast of a car.. 1 of the BEST cars in the GT5!!!!!When grinding seasonal events, its not about competition, its about EASY CR... Thumbs up on this event.HUGE EASY CR.!!!!!!

Seriously? You just burned this event through and hoovered up the credits to move on? Might just be me, but I can't understand why you wouldn't even want to give yourself half a challenge  Having said that, I'm not a huge fan of overkilling events just to grind out XP/credits, so when people talk about how they breezed through in their 908/Minolta/787B, I glazed over. Those cars can win races with full fields of LeMans cars in, let alone one lone Group C car and a field of GT cars  My personal view though. I do agree that the Seasonals dish out an OUTRAGEOUS amount of XP/credits, so I can understand why people would do this here.

I do like Track_Veteran's idea of running through the DLC Touring Cars for these races, that sounds like an excellent idea. I've been looking for an excuse to break out the lime green Challenger SRT8 TC somewhere, and this might be it. Come to think of it, I ran the final Online A-Spec Challenge seasonal race in an RM'ed, 772hp 1970 Dodge Challenger, against similar opposition, and that was competitive, so I might bring her out to play again...who says you can't teach the old dogs new tricks? :trouble:

Beaten all events with Alfa 155 touring car. Zonda was a real beast to catch on final lap....

OneManRiot, I love the old Alfa 155. Might just try that actually, sounds like fun :) Was that with or without the Jaguar in the field? I'm assuming not if you were talking about catching the Zonda on the final lap?

Also, I'm wheeling out my 2011 NASCAR Ford Fusion (#43) at Grand Valley atm, bone stock with racing soft tyres atm. Currently 5th as of lap 2, and gaining on the leaders nicely, including the Jaguar surprisingly. Who said these cars can't go right as well as left? ;)

UPDATE: Well, that surprised me! Caught and passed the Jaguar at the end of lap 4 and drove away, was averaging a good 2-3 seconds faster than him throughout the race. Very surprising  Time to try out the touring cars...

i breezed the Dream Car Championship on the first attempt too but only for the sake of golding it.

After that I tried different cars to give myself a decent challenge ( sub 600 PP and Racing Hards or even Sports Softs)

And if you want to stack up Credits , this one´s the wrong event. There´s a better way for it. :)

Yeah, I get that. If there's a prizecar I desperately want in a race or something like that, or as you said to gold the series first time through, I'll sometimes overkill the series. The Online A-Spec Challenge I didn't hang around too long in to be fair, I breezed through the first two, and after a few attempts at the third, got to a fairly comfortable victory there. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone I suppose :dunce:

Oh really? Which one's the one for piling up credits then? ;)

Try the B-Spec at Spa and you have 4 million Cr. in 27 minutes. ;)

I know it's been posted before, but these Seasonal's are just way too easy.
And in this one, on the Jag give anycompetition.
It would be nice if the entire field was comprised of LMP's .
At least that way you would have a little more difficult making your way through
the pack.

The difficulty is only as hard or easy as YOU make it. ;)

If it is too easy try a car with less PP than the opponent with the lowest PP and stay with the tyres or less , the opponent use.

This is a problem of GT for as long as I can remember. There is almost never a completely competitive field. You almost always pick a car to beat one or two cars. In this case you pick a car to beat the jag. The rest is there for show.
I must say that it bothers me more in the Dream Car Championship and seasonals as I also don't understand why the stupid Jag is there... but hey... I just pick a nice car and enjoy 5 laps of some nice tracks.
Spa is great in a 908 :sly:

If you don´t want the Jag , pick a different lineup.

Or pick a lineup , where the whole field is even.

Kind of stupid to have the Jag in there randomly. Either it should always be in the race or never. Makes it a big PITA for those of us who want to set up a difficult race to have to keep re-loading the race until we get the configuration we want. PD must think our time is worthless...

Just won it all with a stock GT-R (R34) TC with just an oil change. I used RH tyres on all courses except suzuka where I used RS. Even stock it seemed like a bit of overkill. Maybe I will take the advice of someone earlier in the thread and work my way down the TC's without doing anything to them. BTW the Jag race car (not the 220 one) was in 4 of the races, it was not in the one at Spa.

That's been my policy for years re: finding good close races. In GT4 there were useful pit strategy guides and research was done into average laptimes of the opponents to help gear your car choice to a close race - now things have been helped out a lot with the introduction of the PP system, which IMO is a great idea well done by PD 👍

I think PD deliberately leave things rather open-ended to give the players a choice - people can roll through the game breezing every race if they want to rack up credits and cars, or if they start going 'yawn this is easy' they can up the ante themselves using a bit of creativity with choice of car, tyres, PP levels etc. Almost like making your own difficulty curve :)

BTW, another potential car choice for y'all - just bought the '09 Audi R8 LMS Race Car (Team Playstation) from the online collectors dealership, and took it to SSR5 with a lineup lacking an XJR-9. First attempt on hard tyres was a dismal 5th, but in my first drive of this car anywhere let alone this track most of the race was spent learning how the car drove (really, really well as it goes - very comfortable car to drive fast ). Second run on soft tyres was better - won by 3.4s over the Zonda. 💡

If people fancy it, they could either a) dial back the setup (go back to hard tyres perhaps) and take on the Zonda in a very close race, or b) strap on some horsepower upgrades and take on the XJR-9. It is down on power to it's main opponents, as the Zonda and GT Spec II were pulling away a little down the main straight, but the stronger handling of the R8 made up for any power deficiencies. It's an idea I'm going have a play around with - I'll report back with my findings 👍

As far as dialing it down, what I usually do, is "roll through the Seasonal's,
Collecting the prizes, then go to a lesser car.
One of the best Seasonal's, in my opinion, is World Circuit Nurburgring.

If you need a challenge, try winning Grand Valley with an F40. Probably the most fun car in the game, and makes for a challenging win. I didn't run a perfect race, but won by just over a second.
