If you need a challenge, try winning Grand Valley with an F40. Probably the most fun car in the game, and makes for a challenging win. I didn't run a perfect race, but won by just over a second.

if you post some specs of the F40 (power, weight, PP,tyres and mods you have used) , we can try it.
Also post the main opponent. ;)

This set was pretty damn easy but that may have been because I was using the Suzuki Escudo. lol Pretty fun tho, esp at Spa :D

The race was against the Zonda

I had the F40 fully tuned on racing soft tyres, however, she'd gone a while without an oil change so she was only pushing 685 hp, making about 589 pp.

Like I said, there are plenty of people out there who will probably not find this TOO terribly tough, but for myself it was a good challenge.

To me, I've always seen the Dream Car Championship as Gran Turismo's showcase of fantasy race cars. So therefore, a machine like the Jaguar XJ-R9 has no place in a series mostly devoted towards those (and I stress) dream racing cars. I'm guessing the races would be like a boss battle. You know, beat out 10 other dream racing machines with your own dream racer... then, beat that "boss" machine who should win that race by default. Then too, it reminds me of the B-Spec hard races where you have ten laps to chase down a leading car that has a half-track head start (or seems like one).

You may well bring your own high-powered beast if you'll unfairly have to race against a high-powered beast. Even I brought my Peugeot 908 HDi FAP to the GT World Championship, thinking the GTWC was going to be as intense as the GTWC in GT4. Dominated every race. This Seasonal is more like trying to find a loophole by bringing your own beast. Yeah- BYOB (Bring Your Own Beast).

Took my CT230R on RS tyres to GVS for comparison against the Zonda.
Only added a centre diff , lots of weight and set the power limiter to 95%.

Car had 560 bhp , 1250kg and 591PP.

Won the race by over 9 seconds. :)

^ CTR is for noobs :) a much faster car than its pp range expecially on corners. Time to try with something tricky now, I'm building an Enzo for Spa around 610pp.

If you mean faster cornering into a wall due the understeer , you are right

The only reason they put it in is because...look at the name. It has 'LM' in it. Therefore, it is supposedly fictional, except it isn't. And therefore is completely out of place. But you have a fair point of it being the 'boss' machine

It's more the acceleration if anything and that just comes down to 4WD. Through the corners it is fast, yes, but then you have to consider how slow it is usually down straights even with some modification...

That was only for Spec I. Spec II fixed that understeer madness. But then, a tune before Spec I would fix it as well... :sly:

Knowing that, I may actually have to go dust it off, get it out and set some laps in it.

This race seems like a cruel joke to me. Get a car thats really competitve with the bottom cars and you'll NEVER catch that Jag...

Otherwise, its a bit of a bore. I typically use it for testing, to see how quick my cars are.

Sounds like you don't know the car you are driving then :) the HKS CTR can be a grip monster with proper tuning, even with 20 pp less it's able to runs 3 second faster than the Enzo in this game at Spa.

If I put the driving settings completely off except the abs, is that exactly how a normal car has his settings? Noobe question but I don't know it

This B-Spec at Spa is incredible for levelling up, a few days ago I was locked at 37...now I'm just about 39! 👍

Which is why mine has a tune on it. Which was pre Spec II built and still works in Spec II.

I tried this with that '08 Citroen electric concept. Very difficult to judge braking and it understeers like a pig most of the time, even on racing mediums, but I prevailed at all 5 tracks eventually. Was the first time I'd ever driven one.

Falcon787B
OneManRiot, I love the old Alfa 155. Might just try that actually, sounds like fun :) Was that with or without the Jaguar in the field? I'm assuming not if you were talking about catching the Zonda on the final lap?

Also, I'm wheeling out my 2011 NASCAR Ford Fusion (#43) at Grand Valley atm, bone stock with racing soft tyres atm. Currently 5th as of lap 2, and gaining on the leaders nicely, including the Jaguar surprisingly. Who said these cars can't go right as well as left? ;)

UPDATE: Well, that surprised me! Caught and passed the Jaguar at the end of lap 4 and drove away, was averaging a good 2-3 seconds faster than him throughout the race. Very surprising  Time to try out the touring cars...

At Spa I had both the Jaguar and the Zonda. But for some reason the Zonda was way faster than the Jag... It is a real nice event to pull out the touring cars. Pity it wasnt tougher though. The only challenge one gets driving against the AI of GT is using a severly underpowered car forthe event. In this case when I used the Alfa, I was about 200 pp under... Buts still very enjoyable. The Alfa truly drives like a dream.

I removed some understeer from my 610pp Enzo and won easily on Racing Soft, hmm time to drop some hp and tyres too. Almost every racecar around 500 / 560 pp is way too easy because of front downforce. Not to mention the slow AI. Let's see how far we can go and find the slowest, still winning car ever. LoL

Gave it a go in my 605PP 599 with race hard. In 2 trys I got 4th both times. I was running consistent 1:54 laps. This car is a real handful on hard tires with this much power. The Jag, Zonda, and GT LM Test Car ran together the whole race and kept each other hot.

I switched to race soft rubber and dropped my laps down to 1:49-1:50. Won it no problem.

Now I'm going to see if I can get a lineup that has the Jag but not the Zonda and try it again on hard tires.

You mean at GVS?

The 1st or 2nd lineup after restarting GT 5 has the Zonda or Jag alone ;)

The 1st is with the Jag and the 2nd with the Zonda IIRC.

Yes Grand Valley.

I ran the 599 again with the Jag on pole but no Zonda. Still ran consistent 1:54s but I came in 2nd, 6 seconds down. I'd have to run over a second faster and that just isn't going to happen on race hards in this car (with me driving it).

I went with my Peugeot 908 HDi FAP now, and I also used Mild Active Steering. The Active Steering change made using the 908 a bit more controllable out of corners. However, the car tends to understeer a bit. The understeer is nothing severe. Just that the car kind of bogs in the corners sometimes. I did only the Grand Valley event with the 908. I'll keep using the 908 to build up money. If you REALLY want to build your money, the Spa-Francorchamps event is your meal ticket.

Last lap of the Spa race with an Enzo vs XJR-9

Mods:
only weight reduced and some Ballast added for balance , Power Limiter @ 95% , RS tyres (no tuning parts added)

Specs:
626 bhp , 1240 kg , 576 PP

GV again, this time in the Cien. Tuned to the same 605PP as the 599.

I was running 2 seconds faster than the 599. Passed the Jag on lap 5 for a 3 second win.

What cars should i use to win all these Dream Car Championship Event?

What cars should i use to win all these Dream Car Championship Event?

Any car you like up to 700PP. Most cars will win at much less than that.

Any GT500 car will win them easy if you want something that's not too expensive from the NCD. Or the Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo is really cheap and fast. Tune them above 600PP and you should be able to win all events. The hardest one is the Eifel because the Jag really hauls on that track, plus it's a crap track with blind falling-away corners.

The AI cars use race hard tires so that's what I use.

Took my M3 GTR '03 (not the touring car) for GV, thinking I wouldn't stand a chance. That car is a beast! At 572pp I destroyed the XJR-9 by over 12 seconds. The M3 was giving 1:49.5xx laps! Found a new fun car that's well under the competitions pp that will win.

Racing Soft tires I presume?

SRF or or off?

Yes racing softs. No SRF as I hate those kinds of aids. I think Racing Mediums will work, but not hards. I tried but lost by just over 7 seconds.

EDIT: Just finished 1st with racing mediums, won by over 5 seconds. Still produced high 1:50 lap times, so I guess the 1:49.5xx could be brought down considerably.

Can you try Spa please , preferable a lineup with both (Jag and Zonda).I´d like to see what you can pull there.

I´m at 572 PP (also a german car) too , could win Spa against both by 9 seconds.

For a nice challenge:

Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo from new car dealership
No tuning other than RH tires, downforce and brake balance
Suzuka with XJR-9

Won by less than 0.8 secs.

Won with an F40 @ 571pp. A modified version of a Praiano's tune.

Sorry for Ita, but PD didn't include Eng lenguage here. Probably it's possible to drop power a bit.
