I dunno if this is supposed to be a joke or not... but try the Mini dealership![]()
Rx7 round deep forest.
Anyone got any tuning/upgrade advice
For the Nascar, I put it at max downforce, camber 2.7 f+r, and lowered ride height -15 and set top speed to 199mph. I topped out on the long straight but the added acc more than makes up for it, won by 10.3 seconds using DS3 abs 1 tcs 2 and asm on.
Use Skid Recovery, with that you will dominate the race.
I refuse to use it, I am no rookie racer![]()

Thanks for the tips, so far I've only managed to get in third and that's with cheating... going near full speed on the grass at the chicane. Managed to get 2nd with the Ford Focus without skid recovery though (actually skid recovery made my times worse somehow) but these damned mini's are going fast...Puh that Mini S07 event was great! And took 1 hour of my time! Without custom gears it seems impossible to me... Set it to 200 km/h top speed and drive very low 1:05:xxx or high 1:04:xxx times to beat it... Lap 1 must also be an mid or high 1:05:xxx... In that long U turn you need an speed of 160 - 161 km/h or you will be not fast enough on the straight...
Did not tried the Focus one but as I´ve tried the Mini event, I thought this is impossible... But after a while you´ll get it...
For those struggling (as I have been for who knows how long now) with the new RX7 event at Tsukuba, and are determined not to use Skid Recovery, here's what I used to get gold:
- Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A (FD) '02
- Stage 3 weight Reduction/windows/carbon hood (1051Kg)
- Rigidity Improvement
- Added all aero parts (set to 0/28)
- Fully custom transmission (set to 193mph)
- Sports Intake Manifold + Racing Air Filter
- Sports ECU + Stage 2 Engine Tuning (394 HP)
- Catalytic converter + Titanium Semi-racing exhaust
- Fully custom Suspension (Ride Height -20/-20, Springs 16.0/6.3, Dampers 10/5, 10/5, ARB 4/4, camber 2.0/2.0, toe 0/0)
- Twin clutch plates + Carbon propeller shaft + Semi-racing flywheel
- Brakes set to 8/9
- Tyres were Sports Hard as standard
- ABS 1, TC 0, SRF off, ASM off, Driving line off
- MOST IMPORTANTLY - painted the car Matte Yellow
I know it's a great deal of cash to spend, but I wanted the car anyway due to amazing fun had in GT5 Prologue, I wanted it in yellow, and I wanted a souped up one regardless. This was a perfect excuse and bloody hell it was all very necessary to win this race.
What you will find is that if you're getting a good deal out of the car you should be running 1'00.xxx laps all the way through, best lap here was 1'00.000 but 59s are easily do-able even without Skid Recovery, ASM, TCS etc. You will typically knock about 3 seconds per lap off the leading Skyline and on lap 10 he catches the Fairlady Z backmarker that slows him down a LOT and you will make up much more time on Lap 10. On the exit of the corner that leads onto the back straight on lap 10 I got really out of shape and on the grass, but still managed to re-pass the SKyline into the last corner.
That was a mega challenge, and you end up with a killer RX-7 tuned to the back teeth at the end
Remember....YELLOW.
Hope this helps a fella or two 👍

i give up that Mini challenge is impossible what exact mods do you need to beat the F-ing thing its so frustrating. Anybody that can get first in this with a bone stock mini is a driving god.

Don't know if this helps for you but here are the settings I used for the Mini event.
Bought these parts:
- Sports Intake Manifold
- Twin Plate Clutch
- Semi Racing Flywheel
- Fully Customisable Transmission
- Fully Customisable Suspension Kit
Settings:
- Gears: 200 kmh
- Ride height: -15 / 0
- Spring rates: 6.5 / 5.6
- Dampers (extension): 5 / 4
- Camber: 1.0 / 0.5
- Toe: -0.20 / 0.20
Got to 1st in the last lap, 5th corner I think, somewhere before the chicane. I'm using a wheel though.
Ahh, I bet you're totally right. Good call 👍Could it be that at the start of the race the cars are all cruising at pace car speed so when the leader gets to sector 1 his time was slow, by the time you get there it appears you were only 14 or so seconds down the road, but by the time you reach sectors 2 and 3 the leading Skyline has reached top lapping speed and the gap is much more representative of his distance to yours?
Instant laptime improvement!

The Mustang is a bit harder than expected, and the limitations are unusual. You can't get close to the minimum weight, since Stage 1 takes you under, but I'm pulling consistent low 1:42's in what I thought was a decently tuned Mustang. Looks like I'll have to throw some more gear at it; I know this track all too well, I just can't eke out much more from the car in this state of tune.
(EDIT) Nevermind, the Mustang just needed a proper transmission. Low 1:41's or high 1:40's are good enough to take out the lead by just after the Corkscrew (or during if you're brave).
Everyone is using skid recovery force, ASM, traction control etc. to win these events.... What happened to the real men?? I rather not win at all instead... using those stupid aids that make GT5 feel like need for speed, no thanks!
What transmission did you buy? And what other modifications? And you did you use any driving aids? I tend to pull 1.42, some 1.41, best so far is 1 second behind first place.

<- Real manfinally got the Nascar event gold by 5 seconds without any Aids or Skid recovery, just ABS on 1. Got me insane sometimes not to be able to overtake the others because of the tight course
edit: By the way: How do your get your Mustang lighter ? the weight reduction brings it under the limit, and the Carbon Hood and the window weight reduction just reduce a few KG
