My son went into the Game store asking if they knew when Drive Club was coming out, he was told that it wont be out before GT7, apparently GT6 is going to be released this year in next gen on PS4 and renamed GT7?

Are these the same people that said DriveClub was going to be released on April 1st?

Genuinely interested, there's a bit of confusion with the release date of that.

Don't ever believe what game stores tell you.

Thanks for the life lesson mate, I best write that down....
Just to expand, apparently a Sony rep spilled the beans, next gen GT6 which will be sold as GT7, I think its a possibility especially when you read the review by Digital Foundry when they stated that GT6 has been coded in such a way that it could be dropped straight onto the PS4 architecture...

Speaking to IGN at yesterday’s Gran Turismo 6 event at Silverstone (that also marked the 15th anniversary of the lauded driving series), director Kazunori Yamauchi said: “We actually do have a PlayStation 4 version in mind, but for this holiday season, we thought it would be best for users to release on PS3 for now.”
The Polyphony Digital master petrolhead added: “I thought the best scenario would be to have the game come out, then to have new scenarios, new DLC and other updates. Once the players have thoroughly played out the system, if the PlayStation 4 version came out naturally, as part of that process, I think that would be the best scenario.”
Yamauchi even hinted saves between the PS3 and PS4 versions may be transferable.

Think it could be a possibility chaps....

Every thing that man says is bull, don't believe a word he says. All the promises he made for this game, we're yet to see them.

I won't buy a PS4 until it is confirmed my G25 will work on the darn thing

Wasn't it already confirmed that Wheels would Work on the PS4 same as they did on the PS3? That is to say, they'll Work as long as the developer of the individual Wheels releases drivers for the PS4. Of course the game devs need to support the specific Wheel models as well.

From what I remember, Driveclub is supposed to Work with just about any semi modern Wheel.

Alright Mr negative,do you only respond in single sentences? I don't think everything he says is bull, think that's a bit unfair...

Hope it isn't out this year, and doubt it too. GT6 isn't even finished.

I'm afraid I don't really trust much coming from Kaz or PD. They have failed to deliver what was planned and on schedule. Would not be surprised if this came to fruition to bail them out of the low sales right now with GT6.

No, that was 2 sentences. So is this.

lol

Last time I checked GT6 was still the biggest selling game on Amazon....

If GT6 was exclusive to Amazon that would be relevant.
Wow.

If GT6 were the number one seller by the world's largest online retailer, then yes, that is certainly relevant to any question of whether sales are poor. Perhaps not conclusive in and of itself, but absolutely relevant.

Sales numbers from GT4 through to GT6 have shown the franchise is in decline, with sales numbers lower than the preceding title.

GT reached its peak with GT4, in my opinion. It may not have sold the most copies, but it was during a time where it still felt like the best console racing game. It's definitely not anymore. It's a shame, but GT did have a long successful run. GT7 on the PS4 needs to do so many new things....take risks and make bold choices.

Yeah, like more lunar tracks!

Not.

Nope. Saying it's relevant doesn't make it so. It's only anecdotal evidence of one retailer out of hundreds that sell the game. It might be able to take a peak at being relevant if you gave us some numbers like:

Total Sales
Total Sales of the next few games on the list
Sales of GT5 at the same point in it's life cycle
Amazon Sales as % of total sales for an average gaming title..

etc...
