Nope. Saying it's relevant doesn't make it so. It's only anecdotal evidence of one retailer out of hundreds that sell the game. It might be able to take a peak at being relevant if you gave us some numbers like:

Total Sales
Total Sales of the next few games on the list
Sales of GT5 at the same point in it's life cycle
Amazon Sales as % of total sales for an average gaming title..

Assuming GT6 is truly Amazon's top seller, and assuming Amazon is a major player in the global video game retail market, then every court in the United States would allow that as a piece of evidence in the trial of whether "GT6 sales are poor." Of course, "poor" needs to be defined first, and then compared to actual sales figures.

By the way, your items 2, 3 and 4 are not probative of whether "sales are poor," unless you define the word "poor" in relation to other titles instead of internal cost or profit projections.

Overall I'd return to the OP and question why a games-droid might give that advice. Lesser informed games magazines may have covered (in brief) the news that GT6 may well also be released for PS4. Remember that was genuine news at that point.

The droid may have just regurgitated old news from its tape, not knowing there was an update. It's only 1997 in the GameStation near me so nothing would surprise me.

I did read your response counsellor and if you'll put your legal eyes to the test, you'll notice my response was directed towards "relevance" rather than conclusion, so bringing up you caveat of "not conclusive" is indeed irrelelvant to my response. You have yet to establish any relevance to your initial post about Amazon sales.

Also, if you had any legal training you would probably know that no court in the land would accept the statement:

The sales figures I suggested you provide would go a long way to establishing relevance. Perhaps you haven't gone far enough in law school to know that evidence must be backed up provable facts, not assumptions

By the way, last time I checked the top 100 sellers in the "video game" category, neither GT5 not GT6 was there.

You're correct, the assumptions need to be proven first--that's obvious. However, IF they are true, then it would be admissible evidence unless the word "poor" is defined by some strange contextual usage that does not appear to be present here. To be relevant, information must be reliable and tend to prove or disprove a proposition. Amazon sales is one piece of the puzzle that tends to prove or disprove whether whether sales are poor.

You can probably drive faster than I, and you can certainly tune better than I, but you probably shouldn't argue relevance with me. I enjoy and agree with most of your comments here at GTP, so I hope this irrelevant pissing contest leaves no hard feelings.

Edit: I just read your information that GT6 isn't the top selling title at Amazon. This information is certainly probative of the claim that sales are poor.

I did read that GT6 was still the top selling game at Amazon however that was probably a few weeks after release, GT does have a very healthy fan base but if sales have been slow compared to GT5 then perhaps that's one of the reasons for a push onto the PS4. Kaz has stated that the game has been coded with next gen in mind however a next gen GT really will need to lose the poor standard cars and those GT4 tracks need to be redone, that's a lot of work, I hope we don't see GT7 this year, it would obviously look better but not as good as a game coded exclusively for PS4. Its a strange time, so far the next gen games don't look much better and that's because of these cross generation titles, I think the developers need to bite the bullet now and concentrate on next gen only. Traditionally Gran Turismo has been a ' system seller ' I know I purchased the PS2 for GT3 and the PS3 for GT5, PS4 does not need any help, its already the fastest selling console ever so rushing out a Gran Turismo title on PS4 makes no sense really but being as GT6 already makes Forza 5 look very average ( for a next gen title ) it would be interesting to see what a ' rezzed up ' GT6 would do. : )
