What a crazy NFL weekend! I can't wait to watch this Bears v. Patriots game. Not only are the two teams evenly matched, but they are to play in a blizzard. Things aren't looking for my Texans as the Ravens have been playing exceptionally well minus last week v. Pittsburgh at the end.

Yeah the weather is nasty up here (even though we only are going to get 2 to 3 inches as most) but in Minny, its worse. They moving it to Ford Field because with the coldness, TCF Bank Field needs to be cleared off (who knows how LONG that's going to take) and that's a college outdoor field. Btw if you have Direct TV, you can watch the game! :D ---- Randy

^ I'm curious to see what is to come of Haynesworth. The play where he just layed on the turf while the QB proceeded to throw a TD sticks out in my mind. I forget what team it was up against, but damn it was ridiculous. This Jaguars v. Raiders game turned out to be a very, very good one. MJD is really doing well running the ball.

Time for the game in Soldier Field. 👍

The Jets' sideline is no-class scum. How could you knee a gunner in the leg as he's running down the field on punt coverage? I hope Rex Ryan dismisses that guy and the NFL fines the Jets and that guy.

Meh, I dunno. The guy shouldn't have been running down the sideline. He was way off the field and making no attempt to come back on the field. He kinda deserved it.

Dude, every gunner does that when they get forced out of bounds. The staff member on the sideline stuck his knee out to hit Carrol right between the pads. Scum.

He certainly didn't try to get out of the way, but the knee movement is almost imperceptible even in zoomed in slow motion. I'm pretty sure he did it, but it was such a small move anyway that I'm not sure the guy wasn't gonna run into him anyway.

It's not like he broke his knee or anything, he just gave him a charlie horse. It'll be debated to death on PTI and ATH and SC this week, so it'll be interesting. I don't think everyone will condemn him that quickly.

It most certainly was not imperceptible. It was fairly obvious. Here's a pic of the contact:

Right before Carrol ran by, this scum was standing just like the other guys next to him-- out of the way.

He leaned in with his knee to take out our guy.

Wow. Jet's sideline guys are a bunch of douches, aren't they? I caught that during the halftime report of the Philly/Dallas game (I didn't catch the Miami game until 5 minutes to go). Pathetic. It looks like the Jets still haven't cleaned out all the 🤬 personnel that were brought to light last year.

The MetroDome imploding was pretty cool to watch. I'm glad no one got hurt.

yeah, the still looks a lot worse than I remember it looking in slow-mo. I didn't realize he moved that far. I also thought they were farther out of bounds, but they're right by the white there.

Double feature...

* Giants at (I guess) Vikings in Detroit TONIGHT!
Mother Nature was PMS'ing and snowed in the top of the Metrodome. Who'll win this one after seeing that dramatic snow-in of the Metrodome?

* Ravens at Texans TONIGHT!
This may be the Texans' last chance to be relevant. We've lost on ESPN earlier at Indy. We've lost on the NFL Network at the Eagles. Will the Texans finally NOT fail on National TV by beating a game Ravens team, or are we going to fail one last time on National TV this season?

Enjoy Monday night! :)

On the deal involving the Jet tripping up that Dolphin, Michael Wilbon on PTI thought it wasn't really a big deal. Tony Kornheiser noted a past incident decades ago in college when a player went from the sidelines and ran into one player trying to advance the ball. The Dolphin player that got clipped by that one Jets Asst. coach... I think there wasn't as much resentment simply because the Dolphin was already out of bounds prior to being clipped.

That's ESPN for you, players. The worldwide leader in... well, you finish the sentence with your own content [with something other than "the worldwide leader in sports"].

I just got home and couldn't watch PTI, but I figured Wilbon would actually be the one hating on the Jets guy and Kornheiser would be saying it wasn't a big deal.

But yeah, I don't think it's a big deal. People seem to be overreacting.

Feels weird watching the Vikings play a home game in Detroit.

Also, sounds like if the Metrodome isn't fixed by next Monday they may move the game to the Gophers Stadium(now I'm hoping they don't get the dome fixed:lol:)

I'll be G** motherf:censored:ing damned!!! What the hell was Schaub thinking throwing that pass? We force Overtime just to fail on a stupid ass pass. We're basically done with the playoffs now. I'm mad as hell. We're done with the playoffs for 2010 now. If you're going to make a comeback, COMPLETE THE COMEBACK!!! This was a damned shame. I'm not going to say the Texans deserved to lose, but the way we played for most of the game, we deserved to.

And, oh yeah... congrats to the Giants. F:censored:!!!

Yea why didn't they try and run or pass to Foster with the way he was owning that defense? I mean even with Schaub passing 68 times, Foster still had 100 yards!

ESPN just alerted me that the Texans are the only team in NFL history to be down by 14+ points, come back to tie/lead, then lose the game 4 times in a season. Ugh! I thought they had done that already in past seasons.

Bye, Bye Brett 👍

You know, I was thinking the same thing. It's Overtime. I guess the Texans are trying to be more of a passing team (and they are a passing team), but you GOT to utilize Arian Foster more often. Take it in basketball- feed the hot hand. If the passing game isn't working, stick to the ground. Whatever happened to something like mixing run with pass?

I even posted in my blog about expectations. Expectation says we should be in the playoffs, but expectations are always battles against reality. We don't have that winning character to make us playoff locks every season. We're still mostly a middle-of-the-road team that just had several flat tires mid-season. Now, we're almost out of gas trying to make that playoff push. ONLY hope we have is if the Jaguars lose at the Colts on Sunday (and of course, we have to win out).

I just wish some fans would shut up about expectations. We're not a winning football team or some sort of powerhouse. Expectations = Texans in 2010 season playoffs. Reality = still work to be done to truly be a contender. So as much as I love the Texans, we're not THERE yet. Close, late losses don't help your cause much either. It is the same old song and dance that we lose, but it wasn't like we were in any hope of upsetting the Ravens at home. Houston teams are usually considered second half teams. Well, this second half has been miserable for the Texans.

This season just isn't meant to be after so many agonizing defeats. People on Facebook just flood the Texans' fan page with hateful comments when the Texans lose, but I always try to be the half-full guy. It's kind of why I'm not as much a pro sports fan as I am college. Almost like since it's the pros, there's no reason why you should lose any game. The Texans come back to force Overtime and lose in Overtime. Plain and simple. It's been a very poor season. But again- stop buying into expectations because reality always says otherwise.

Damn, I was cheering on the Texans hard to beat Baltimore. For selfish reasons of course: First, for the sake of the Steelers, and Second because Arian Foster is singlehandedly taking me to the promised land in my big-money fantasy league. Dude averaged 5YPC against the Ravens, that's pretty impressive.

Either way, tough loss.

Also, John, I realized how much more I enjoyed sports when I stopped watching the idiot talking heads on ESPN. They don't care about anything but getting a reaction anymore, the story and highlights mean nothing. You'll get much less frustrated if you tune them out.

Can someone explain to me why 'BSpn' was showing Fav'res post game interview during the OT of the real Monday night game? HE DIDN"T PLAN IN THE GAME!!!! 20mins of him? So sick of it.

Tough loss by the Texans! Kub's may have to go. Some of the offensive play calling at the end of the game........man, tough one. They played hard, no doubt about it, and really in the pro game that's what I look at. Down by 21 as soon as the offensive takes the field in the 2nd half is a rough hill to climb, especially with the Houston defense giving so many points away this season (and last). But with that offense anything is possible. I thought the same as you John, Schaub needed to get out of any passing play and let Foster grind so more. The Ravens were stuck in a 2x2 zone most of the overtime. Foster was getting 5-6 yds a pop. He didn't have to force anything at that point.

Maybe the Texans need to have good luck charms to wear. That's the fourth game where we've come back and still lost. Are you good if you come back to lead/tie but still lose? Or are you bad because you can't get over that hump. I'm on the positive side because I don't know what the Texans really need (besides better defense) to try to get better.

If I AM upset at something though, it's all the dropped balls my man O.D. (Owen Daniels) was dropping. Our ability to fight back is still worth commending. Texans fans will still say that a loss is still a loss. But then, these are the same jokers that will use plenty of expletives on Facebook complaining after the Texans lose games. We stepped up when we could have easily lost. Also, I think we're more cursed than bad. It's not like we're the NFL's version of the Chicago Cubs.

We're now playing to finish 8-8.

The Dolphins are pathetic. It's like when they win, they must not do **** in practice. We haven't been able to hold a winning record greater than one game.

Dan Henning needs to retire or be retired. Chad Henne needs to go to the Cardinals or something.

It didn't help that Dan Carpenter was 0 for 4 today. But that's what happens when your pathetic offense forces your kicker to try 61-yard FGs.

Panthers managed a win today, unfortunately. We need to not win anymore or we'll give away our #1 draft pick.

I'm also losing my fantasy game. I'm the #4 seed going against the #1 in the first round of the playoffs. Probably gonna end up losing and playing for 3rd next week. Not bad though, because I'm losing to a good friend who could use the money a lot more than me.

Texans' 2010 season guaranteed over- no playoffs, no winning season, and maybe some people getting fired. Defeating yourself 21-0 in the 1st Quarter alone is not good. Not doing much else afterwards is even worse. I heard the entire game across an online stream. It was probably a good thing I heard the stream rather than see the game because this was absolutely deplorable. A 4-2 start turns into a 5-9 season.

See? This is why I don't believe in expectations. Everyone was expecting the Texans to make the playoffs this season when most forget that reality happens to counterattack expectations. This was a lost cause of a season hampered by tough luck (some wouldn't even sugar-coat it) and poor execution. We're a good team, but many make us look worse than we actually are. I'm upset as a fan of my Texans. Then too, I'm disappointed this whole year. Many of my favorite teams and athletes have failed to impress me. Just been a rough 2010 as a sports fan.

Our remaining two games: at Denver next Sunday and back home against the Jaguars on the day after New Year's. The "Fire _____" (assuming it's not Gary Kubiak) chants just got a bit louder now after this disappointment...

NYJ defeated my Pittsburgh Steelers, 22-17. As much as they're a good team, we've lost to a firey Patriots offense and a slightly dysfunctioned Jets group that spies on their opponents and trip opposing players. (Not to mention how annoying Rex Ryan can be...) Playoffs? Sure. A win? Probably not. :indiff:

Today's Giants v Eagles matchup has to be the game of the year. They scored 3 TDs with <6 min left in the 4th.

I gave up on the Texans before the 1st quarter was over. They showed up today playing grab ass not football.

I still think Kubiak is a good coach...call me crazy.....
