I think the Steelers might win. I'm not sure. They're only up by 25 in the first half. Hopefully they'll sit some people in the second half to rest them for the playoffs.

The Panthers are terrible, so my only hope for the playoffs rests on the Steelers.

Texans win! Texans win! Texans win!!! I said I was probably not going to watch. Well, I lied. It's like hating to see something, but you still want to watch anyways. I'm too much a Texans fan to not watch or follow a game. The Texans won 34-17, handing the Indy Colts the AFC South. And to make it better as a Texans fan, the Titans lost on an game-winning field goal by the Colts. The Colts won 23-20 over the Titans in Indy. And my goodness... Arian Foster has been the truth all season long. Every bit deserving of his Pro Bowl invite along with Andre Johnson and Vonte Leach going to the Pro Bowl.

You know, I take issue with the whole "intentionally lose to improve draft status." Even if your team stinks like crap for the season, don't you at least care to see your team win? The win for the Texans snaps a four-game losing streak. We're now 6-10.

Sorry about your Dolphins, Omnis. Congrats to all teams and playoff spot earners, and tough luck for the losing teams.

That's ok. The raiders won and we lost so that means we pick before the pats next year. The team just gave up after they missed playoffs.

Ive been at all the Stanford orange bowl parties all day so I don't give a damn.

Wow, for he first time since I can remember the Seahawks had bad officiating go there way. You cannot deny the bad calls/spots during the game, but the Rams still did some stuff to shoot themselves in the foot. Good job Hawks and good luck hosting the Saints on Saturday.

As clear as it was that the Seahawks had about seven extra zebras men on the field (and probably a few extra in the booth) the Rams really did just hand that game over in the second half.

And rumor is that now that the University of Pittsburgh has fired their coach that Marvin Lewis of the Bengals might be heading there.

The Texans shuffled the deck defensively. Frank Bush got fired along with three other personnel members on defense. Rumor has it that Wade Phillips may be the new defensive coordinator for the Texans next season. If so, we'll go from a 4-3 defense to a 3-4. I'm not so sure how the Texans can realign themselves and maybe get some extra defensive help if they do go to a 3-4 defense. One thing to know about me- I am NOT educated on technical aspects of football. So I have no idea what makes a 3-4 more effective than a 4-3.

Maybe the biggest surprise was that Jack Del Rio retained his job. I know my Texans beat the Jaguars, but it's surprising Jack Del Rio retained his coaching job despite being deep into the AFC South race with a chance to go the playoffs. He's now, what... 20-28 as head coach of the Jags?

Any thoughts of yours on the coaching carousel (or lack thereof)?

Two things...

* the Texans now have a new Defensive Coordinator- a guy by the name of... Wade Phillips. Also, this moves the Texans to a 3-4 defense. I am not sure if any newer defenders will play or if some of the current ones can adapt to a 3-4.

* and as Breaking News... the Titans plan to release or trade Vince Young. Absolute LONG SHOT, but, Imagine VY... as a Texan? Houston's own Vince Young loved the Oilers his whole life as a football fan. What team do you think would pick up Vince Young, if any?

Hard to say, but like you said, as a long shot the Texans would make some sense. Other than that.. maybe Redskins or maybe bears. I don't know, those two just came to mind.

VY will be a backup quarterback for the rest of his career IMO. At least until he grows up and learns to be a pro. Don't get me wrong, he is one of my favorite college players of all time, but he has maturity problems; authority problems; critizism problems, etc.... basically he's lived an entitled life since jr high school. He's never NOT been the best player on the field and he hasn't been able to cope with that.

If not the Texans (which I doubt) I could see him in SF, or Carolina or maybe even Phoenix. Those are the only places (off the top of my head) that he could start for. Otherwise he could be a backup just about anywhere.

Well it looks like the Panthers got jacked up. Andrew Luck decided to stay in school rather than come to the Panthers. I sure hope they don't take Newton or Locker #1.

Well, how about that, the Seahawks just had a huge upset and defeated the Saints.

Who dat? Who dat? Who dat say they gonna beat them Saints? The Seahawks, unfortunately. Nice 41-36 against the defending Super Bowl champs. Not like Seattle is apologizing for making the playoffs with a sub-.500 record or anything. You either show up and play, or fail trying. I don't usually watch the NFL Playoff games (except the Super Bowl), so I can't say I saw this game.

But yeah, BIG win. I'm sure GTPlanet's favorite Seahawks fan has to love this win.

That marshawn lynch run was unreal. Dude opened a can of beast mode.

Oh jeez... well that is that. :grumpy: Colts season... done. :( However, if there is a positive out of this, the Colts were 10-7 with a laundry list of injuries and have a ton of emerging young guys. ;) 👍 Disappointed? Absolutely. :grumpy: Am I proud of this team? Hell yeah. :) --- Randy

I'm glad the Jets were able to pull out this game. Now on to NE for the rubber match. Hopefully the final will be different form the last game. Sanchez is going to have to play much better though.

Stupid move by Caldwell to take that last time out.

You aren't kidding in the least. I wasn't able to post anything last night because I was busy all day, but I did see the game.

The Marshawn Lynch run was amazing. The title says "game winning", but what it did was make our lead go out of reach for a comeback.

That looks like a great run there by Lynch!

Although the defensive line really wasn't quite prepared for that at all....It looks more like a pushing match by the Seahawks defending their dude against the opposing team.

This!

Jets run one more time and Folk misses a 45+yd for sure. Coldwell panics too much, I've noticed it every game I've seen of theirs. At some point in the game he makes an impulsive decision that kills them. Either he challenges at the wrong time, or he puts the defense in bad positions, or he mismanages the clock. That timeout was the game, basically.

Oh and nice win by the Seahags! That run by Lynch was ridiculous! Off to Chicago now. If the defense can play like that again, they have a chance.

If the defense can play like that again, they have a chance.

The thing is we have a solid pass rush, but I notice the QBs we face tend to throw it away a lot as opposed to taking the sack. However against Cutler.. hehe, we might get some good footage.

Wow. I just heard Coldwell's reasoning for calling that late time-out: "I wanted them to take as many snaps as possible and not allow them to just run the clock out, since they were in field goal range anyway."

Ummm...the ball was approx on the 35 yd line. That makes it about a 52 yard attempt. Why would you want them to have multiple times to gain more yards? Gamble on them making a mistake, fumble, turnover? I'd have gambled on Folk missing a 52yd field goal.

Look for me at the Steelers/Ravens game tomorrow! I'll be one of the 1000+ people wearing a Mike Wallace jersey.

Seriously though, so pumped. Steelers tickets are easily the hardest to get in town, and I've only gone to one game ever despite living here my entire life. Playoff game vs. the Ravens just adds icing to the cake.

It's funny too because when I was in Island of Adventure, I saw a couple wearing matching NFL jackets. Except Mr. was a Steeler and Mrs. was a Raven.

That has to be one of the funniest TDs I've ever seen. All of the Steelers just looking at Redding going to the endzone. LOL.

14 points off turnovers; 3 sacks for loss.

edit: 4 sacks for loss. Steelers are stumbling.....

Palomalu got beat twice, once for a score. That Ray Rice steamroll was fierce!

edit2: And now the Ravens are stumbling. Momentum has completely switched in the 2nd half. Wow.

Wow I picked the Ravens... They lose... And I picked the Falcons.. They are losing currently at halftime.

The Falcons cannot keep up with the Packers. It's not their style of game. They need to be able to set the pace and the Packers are taking it to them. Bad end of the half decision by Matt Ryan. I think this game is already out of the Falcons reach. Green Bay is just to much for them it seems.
