You don't need to have a good team to win (see Washington Redskins) Omnis. You just need good luck (pun not intended) to win games.

It's over in the MIA- we won 23-13 against the Dolphins. I wasn't able to see some of the second half because a thunderstorm rolled through (and even knocked out power to my house for about 10-15 seconds. Most of the rest of my experience was by listening to the radio. Anyhow, the Texans came through with the win. I was concerned Arian Foster probably wouldn't go a full game, and he didn't. Ben Tate did most of the heavy lifting. But of course, our Mr. 305, Andre Johnson, had himself a nice game coming home to Miami. Good sportsmanship by the Texans as they didn't try to rub it in against the Dolphins by scoring a touchdown with the ball on the Dolphins' 1-yard line late in the game.

Up next... good old border state battle- my Texans will head to the Big Easy for a tough matchup. Texans at Saints next Sunday for my boys. I already sense leaving New Orleans 2-1. Drew Brees and company are too damn good. Maybe we pull one out next week, but it's going to be TOUGH.

Oh. My. God. The Redskins won again. Yes!

I originally picked the Redskins to win, but I changed my pick to the Cards .:guilty:

Hopefully the Panthers can get their first win of the season against the Jags next week.

Its impossible to not pick my favourite team, otherwise I'm not a true fan! The Panthers... Excuse me, Cam Newton has played well. So they will get a win.

Now back to my Redskins:

Grossman turned in another good performance, his season stats are below:
Player Att Comp Yds Comp % Yds/Att TD TD% INT INT% Long Sck Sack/Lost Rating

Rex Grossman 77 46 596 59.7 7.7 4 5.2 2 2.6 40 5 55 90.6

Our run game wasn't too bad today either, Hightower ran for almost 100 yards, and rookie Roy Helu put up 70 yards on only 10 attempts.:

RB Tim Hightower #25
Recent Games
WK Opp Result Rushing Receiving Fumbles
Att Yds Avg Lng TD Rec Yds Avg Lng TD FUM Lost
2 ARI W 22-21 20 96 4.8 20 0 1 10 10.0 10 0 -- --

Rams at Giants TONIGHT!

They may be still cleaning up the mess after the Jets beat down the Jaguars yesterday. Who you got going home a winner tonight- St. Louis or the New York Giants?

I picked the Rams, Bradford against the Giants secondary? I'll take it.

Seahawks atrocious again.

2/12 on 3rd down compared to 8/15 for the Steelers. How does a quarterback go 20/29 and not throw for 200 yards? Why won't they ever let Jackson throw the thing?

Hard to blame the defense for much. You don't win often with 0 points and when your offense doesn't ever move the ball up field 24 points against the Steelers doesn't look half bad.

I think we may be on the short list for the Luck sweepstakes.

Take it from someone that had to endure the years 1997,1998 and 1999 watching the anemic Pete Carrol as coach of the patriots, he is a complete waste of space as far as NFL coaching goes. If you want to see them win you will have to wait until the owner smartens up and realize that Carrol is not a NFL caliber coach.

I've been giving him the benefit of the doubt so far just because he wasn't given a ton of talent to work with. He does act a lot like a college or high school coach on the sidelines though.... have to wonder what the vets think of that.

My opinion is that even on a professional level, being around positive influences helps. An upbeat coach has an easier time motivating people than a dull, down one does. Like look at racing: the guy on the radio is never like "C'mon man, what was that? You sucked that last lap. Pull yourself together or you are going to lose." Instead they always focus on something positive to tell the driver to keep his head right where it needs to be.

Carrol has no talent on his team though. The only person that comes to mind is Earl Thomas.

Earl Thomas, Mike Williams, Marshawn Lynch, John Carlson (currently on IR), Zach Miller, Russel Okung (when he's healthy), Red Bryant, John Ryan all spring to mind as our best players.

You got the wrong Mike Williams, Lynch is washed up-- still flashes though (playoffs lol), John who? Zach Miller won't be productive without a QB, Okung has glass ankles (it's why I quit football, personally), Red who? John who?

The first John is our starting tight end. If you didn't hear about it, he broke the team records for tight ends and catches his rookie year. Big Red Bryan is the reason our team can stuff a run. Stats show that without him our run defense is one of the worse, but with him we can manage. And the second John is John Ryan. On of the best punters in the league. Seeing as our offense is terrible, I'm glad we have someone with that reliable and strong of a leg.

And when your most utilized player is your punter you've got some major issues :)

I'm not going to try and hold any hope for a halfway competitive team for a few years. Thank god for a crappy division!

They should win, but they need to get the run game together, Cam shouldn't have to throw the ball 40 times a game.

I swaer that some people on Facebook take losses badly. Almost as if since this is professional sports, EVERY team should be unbeaten. I saw how fans reacted after my Texans beat the Colts in Week 1 and then the Dolphins in Week 2. Some fans feel like the season is a lost cause just because they aren't unbeaten. Come on now, people! There's still a long way to go. So what if there's no second coming of the 1972 Miami Dolphins? You don't have to be unbeaten to be good. Why chase perfection? Some people just need to chill out.

Congratulations to the N.Y. Giants, as they won at home 28-16 over the Rams last night.

Patriots went undefeated in the regular season, won everything but the 'Bowl. Doesn't that count a little bit?

You dont play to go undefeated and lose the Super Bowl, you play to win it.

Seems like the hot button issue right now is that fake injury deal from the Monday Night game. People think penalties should range from losing a timeout to losses of draft picks. What do YOU think the penalty should be for doing something like this?

I wasn't able to watch the game, can somebody link me to the issue?

Like BLITZ_69 said, what fake injury?

Rax and the late QB coach Pep Hamilton were in a heated fight over Rax's throwing mechanics. Pep thought that Rax's tendency to close his eyes during the forward motion of his arm hurt Rax's accuracy, while Rax did not see why it was important to be accurate when throwing the ball. According to stories Rax got his point across by throwing a football at his QB coach, killing him instantly. He then remarked "It doesn't matter if you have your eyes open IF YOU'RE DEAD."

During a recent taping of the popular Sportscenter series “My Wish” a nine year-old Chicago cancer survivor named Tim, died of apparent internal bleeding while visiting his hometown football team’s workout facility.

Team doctors who attempted to resuscitate the young boy were hindered in their attempts at CPR due to rib and sternum fractures that apparently occurred while Tim was at the complex.

It has been confirmed that quarterback, Rax Grissman, has been taken in for questioning after numerous cheerleaders informed Chicago investigators that Mr. Grissman boasted of “giving that faggot the chance to catch the hellfire missiles of the RG-10 fighter jet, and I hope he tells god that he’s next.”

Really, I don't believe you. He has worked on his mechanics with Mike Shanahan, and now uses a 3 step drop.

This is the real Rex Grossman:

Saints get my Texans on Sunday afternoon in New Orleans. I can already sense a 2-1 start after this Sunday for my boys, but they'll need to really step up on defense to have a chance to win this one. This should still be a fairly good game no matter who wins.

Who dat say dey gon' beat dem Saints? It wasn't the Texans. I predicted 2-1 for my Texans, and I was right. We failed 40-33 playing a difficult game in the Big Easy. The point the CBS announcers were making is on that the Texans are trying to learn how to win games. The telling tale of the game- five Red Zone visits, only one touchdown.

The Texans played very well for the most part. We gave Drew Brees his first two picks of the season, but couldn't do much else. Again- this was not going to be an easy game for the Texans. It isn't like we were supposed to win by 14 or more. We were playing a talented NFC team on the road that won the Super Bowl a few years ago. All we can do now is look forward to hosting the Steelers at home next week.

How about you all? As I was typing this, the Bills just beat the Patriots 34-31 on a clutch field goal.
