The only game I might anticipate more is the SEC championship game this weekend, but that's because that really is the NCAA championship game.

Bite your tongue sir. Texas was counted out before we defeated USC too.

Don't worry, the SEC will be happy to take a fourth straight championship by defeating your Longhorns. I'd rather see Bama take it just to avoid hearing about the Florida repeat, or the non-stop videos of the, "One more thing. Let's do it again. I'm coming back!" speech.

Keep in mind that starting with the SEC championship the refs aren't going to be able to help these guys out anymore. Just something to think about.

Forgive me for not being impressed with teams that need the guys in stripes to help them barely beat crappy teams. I'm dreading the SEC championship game. When Alabama and Florida finally play against each other I imagine the game will end 0-2 as these guys struggle to move the ball against any remotely competent defense.

Whichever of these jokers makes it to the national championship is going to have to cope with a better defense than they've faced all year and the winningest QB in NCAA history who happens to complete close to 80 percent of his passes while racking up gaudy running numbers.

I hope McCoy gets snubbed for the Heisman this year. It's just going to make life that much more difficult for the poor bastards that have to defend him.

As a fan of a struggling SEC team, trust me, I know. But the same is said about them every year.

This past weekend was a good weekend. My Jets ran into a team whose quarterback throws more picks than Sanchez, the Fins lose and the Pats got exposed. I'm looking forward to a Saints v. Colts superbowl and the first 50-49 superbowl game.

Don't you love that look of utter helplessness? Jets are still handling themselves rather well, despite that.

Cheers

Four straight losses for the Texans. We lost 23-18. We're basically done for the playoffs. The remaining games are now just to go for their best record in team history. I'd usually be mad, especially if we had a chance to win. But here, we just had to take one on the chin. It was NOT fun for my Texans. And... we're now 1-6 in the division (AFC South).

The Oakland-Pittsburgh game has been quite interesting.

Looks as though the Raiders have this one.

Cheers,
Jetboy

I was pretty worried when they blew that 3rd down wide open pass at around 2:09, but the next pass on 4th was ace. They seemed to be walking all over the Pats defense from what I saw (last 10 minutes). I wonder what was happening.

Playing for pride now, my Texans are. The rest of the schedule: Seattle, at Miami, at St. Louis, and New England. I think if we would have won this game at Jacksonville, we COULD have been in better position to maybe take the AFC Wild Card. Here's how I thought it would have happened:

* close win at JAX, beat SEA-STL, New England rests its star players for the playoffs, we beat New England- we play for AFC Wild Card.

But at this point, who cares? We lost to Jacksonville, now we're playing for next season. I'm still a Texans fan, even if most others have given up on the Texans. Here's the difference. I'm an Astros fan, but I don't believe they'll ever succeed anytime soon. I'm a Texans fan, and I think they'll one day really emerge. Not win the AFC South, but consistently play for a Wild Card. It takes a while to be a contender for the AFC South. But again... who cares? We're done. Could have beaten Jacksonville, but we didn't. Could have saved our season, but we didn't. Hoping for a better 2010 here in H-Town...

On a different note, congratulations to Miami on taking down New England. BIG win.

[UPDATE] We finished 1-5 in the region, not 1-6. Almost seem like that win at Tennessee was a fluke. And you want the anatomy of a team losing patience? Read the comments on this game report between Texans at Jaguars:

Ravens at Packers tonight. Can the Ravens leave Green Bay with a win? I usually ask this question in enthusiasm, but times are just dull here. "Fire Kubiak!" "Release Chris Brown!" "We'd rather watch the Houston Cougars than the Texans right now." Just sad times. We can probably hope that we have a situation similar to "Friday Night Lights" where only a wing and a prayer sends us to the playoffs.

Ed Reed is inactive tonight. Our secondary is weak already. Not good news.

That picture friggin cracks me up. Can't quite put my finger on why but I've laughed at it every time I've come to this thread.

Yeah. I was so happy that Belichick went for it when we gained the 1-point lead in the end that I had to make that picture. And the Dolphins wouldn't even be in the hunt if he didn't go for it against Indy.

So Chad Ochocinco is thinking of changing his name to Hachigo. If he does, I think it'll be hilarious. Nothing like being named after a ****box Toyota.

He probably knows nothing about the toyota. He also probably doesn't know much about japanese. Someone must have told him that 8 5 is Hachigo in japanese. Not eighty-five, just eight five.

According to Yahoo he got the idea when he was doing some interview for a Japanese channel and one of the girls that was with the film crew told him he should do it( probably as a joke).

Moral of the story, if I ever meet Chad I'm telling him to change his last name to "Gianto Ass"

Eighty-five is Hachijyu Go, right? In Kendo we only go up to 50 reps.

But anyway, of course it's a joke with Chad. If it wasn't a joke his name probably would be Ochentacinco. Actually, if it wasn't a joke his name would be Johnson. Chad is a cool dude. He's a big Dolphins fan and is generally hilarious. Have you guys seen his mic'd up videos?

As long as he's doing this kind of stuff, it's a good sign for Bengals fans. He's a better player when he's having fun.
