Anybody wanna guess who is going to represent the NFC in the Superbowl? New Orleans is still probably the front runner, but they have 0 momentum after their 3rd loss in a row, the rest of the division is just inconsistent.

I would still consider your Vikings to be the odds on favorite. While they struggled down the stretch, they are the most complete team, and most of the NFC playoff teams faced some tough times in December.

Unless a miracle happens, my Texans are done. It's about 9:55 left in the game with Cincinnati trailing at New York Jets 37-0. Maybe it's a good thing my Texans beat the Bengals 28-17 earlier this season.

If Cincinnati won, we'd have to play AT Cincinnati in the first round. But since the season is over for my Texans, I won't be watching any NFL action until the Super Bowl comes along. That's kind of my mentality with pro sports. I only care to watch postseason play as long as my favorite team is still in it. But if they're gone, I don't care anymore who wins.

There's still plenty of praise to go around here in Houston on the Texans finishing 9-7. The stars weren't aligned in the Texans favor. It's fitting that we're getting very cold weather here in Houston this week because we just feel cold knowing that we won't make our first playoff game.

Good luck to all teams who did advance to the playoffs. I still think that unless the Saints don't show up in playoff play, my pre-Super Bowl prediction is Colts vs. Saints.

[UPDATE] Oh, I almost forgot... Cincinnati lost 37-0 to the New York Jets. Cincinnati Bengals = EPIC F:censored:ING FAIL!!!

Oh my god. How in the hell did the Jets make the playoffs?

That's because Pittsburgh is used to winning. We're a young team trying to establish ourselves more than ever. You come down here to Houston and ask an average Texans fan, they're disappointed that with lofty playoff expectations, that some Texans fans are deeply upset.

For once the Jets actually had things break their way and they actually took advantage of it instead throwing it away like they usually do. Go figure. Anyway I believe they will beat the Bengals but I think the game will be much closer. All in all it's been a good year we could have easily been 11-5 but 9-7 is good considering they were breaking in a rookie QB and coach.

Yeah, you guys will either get crushed by cinci SOJ style or you'll go until you meet San Diego. Let's see if Sanchize can handle the pressure.

Unlike a lot of my Dolphins cohorts, I actually like your team minus a few punks. Rex Ryan inherited a good team. Still hate the Jets though. If you guys win the superbowl I'd do a concussive facepalm.

If Sanchez wasn't a rookie I might think they would go farther than the Bengals but I don't believe you can win a Super Bowl with a rookie QB. Don't get me wrong I think Sanchez will become a very good QB but he's not there yet.

If you ever thought you could win without a franchise QB Just look at the list of this years line up.

Payton Manning
Tom Brady
Phillip Rivers
Carson Palmer
Drew Brees
Bret Favre
Aaron Rodgers
Tony Romo
Kurt Warner
Donavon McNabb

Mark Sanchez
Joe Flacco

Only two QB’s are to yet to be proven winners. So much for defense winning championships. Get yourself a QB and you stand a great chance of winning. To add to the proof just look that this list of Superbowl winners.

Troy Aikman, Dallas Cowboys - SB XXVII
Troy Aikman, Dallas Cowboys - SB XXVIII
Steve Young, San Francisco 49ers - SB XXIX
Troy Aikman, Dallas Cowboys - SB XXX
Brett Favre, Green Bay Packers - SB XXXI
John Elway, Denver Broncos - SB XXXII
John Elway, Denver Broncos - SB XXXIII
Kurt Warner, St. Louis Rams - SB XXXIV
Trent Dilfer, Baltimore Ravens - SB XXXV Ok...defense will win sometimes
Tom Brady, New England Patriots - SB XXXVI
Brad Johnson, Tampa Bay Buccaneers - SB XXXVII Again...nice defense
Tom Brady, New England Patriots - SB XXXVIII
Tom Brady, New England Patriots - SB XXXIX
Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers - SB XL
Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts - SB XLI
Eli Manning, New York Giants - SB XLII
Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers - SB XLIII

Yeah, what do all of those superbowl teams have in common? Great defense.

Pats go down. So far in the AFC the road teams have won. Cards and Pack is next this game ought to be interesting. If Cards come and play like they did last year they will win. My Jets go to San Diego next week. I think they can beat the Chargers if they can run on them and Sanchez plays like he did last night.

Arizona looks really promising for this game. Pats and Green Bay out in the first game? Wow, wouldn't see that coming.

Edit: I may have to retract that. Really didn't see the two touchdown gain Green Bay got coming. Anybody there got their money's worth tonight.. 45 points for each side into overtime?

Cheers,
Jetboy

The Packers-Cards game was a hell of a good one. Probably the best football game all year thus far.

That was a great game it is right up there with the Chargers/Dolphin classic back in 82.

When Kurt Warner is on, he's really fun to watch. I love seeing him sit in a collapsing pocket, ice cold, and throw a bullet downfield.

With a nice facemask that wasn't called on that play.

Don't get me wrong, I wanted the Cards to win but it was kinda obvious.

Facemask? On who, Aaron Rodgers? The ball was already out. Complain about the tackles and that swiss cheese o-line, not a phantom facemask.

In slow-mo it looked like it was before the ball was out. But the game should have been over before then anyhow. How Rackers shanked a 34 yarder that badly indoors is unbelievable. You'd think his name was Nick Folk or something.

Predictions:

Jets-Chargers: The Jets have been given momentum after their second Bengals victory, but the Chargers have been just too strong. SD to rout NY by at least 19.

Ravens-Colts: The Ravens do have a shot, but the Colts could well fire their offense up. However, I can't see the game being a high scorer because of the clash between these teams main powers, Offense-Defense. Colts by a field goal.

Cowboys-Vikings: The Cowboys right now define red hot. The Vikings also had a bad fall in the close to the season so they might not be able to do enough. Cowboys to win by at least 6, but you never know.

Cardinals-Saints: The Saints ended the season poorly. The Cardinals are off the back of a 96 point festival against GB and look very good on offense, but aren't showing enough on defense. At least they didn't take a 3 loss streak at the end of the season...Cardinals to make the surprise happen and win by 7.

.

Chargers have been playing well but they are nor the same as they used to be on defense. W/o Jamal Williams in the middle they can be run on. Revis will shut down Jackson and SD doesn't run the ball well. The Jets have played every elite team well on defense. Even though they lost by 14 to the Saints their D played the Saints as well as anybody else. The Chargers may well win but not by 19. The Jets will be able to run on them. The screen passes to Sproles may be a problem but I think they find a way to handle them. Don't be surprised to see a Jets/Ravens AFC championship. :)

In the NFC I think we'll a Saints/Vikings championship.

Looks like we have quite the storyline for the AFC championship. Indy facing the team that broke their winning streak, that win allowed the Jets to get into the playoffs. Imagine the backlash towards the Colts if the Jets win.:nervous:

Can't believe the jets beat the dolts. Fail Diego. If the jets go to the superbowl I'm gonna freak. The sad part is that that could very well happen. That said, I'll be rooting for either Brees or Favre when that time comes.

I'm not sure what the big deal is with that game. I personally hate it when the team that is winning the game decides to burn the clock up for the last 5 minutes of the game rather than actually play football. Even if Minnesota was running the score up (and I admit that they probably were), I wasn't aware that the NFL has a "no hurt feelings" policy.
