Why not have force feedback sorted out months ago?

Leaving aside the amusement of "why is this beta build beta?", because it's the absolute last stop on the entire physics system, is the product of about 9 different multiplier scales from absolutely every kind of input and processing that goes on in there for each specific car, and needs to be tuned for 3 platforms using 2 major APIs and several manufacturer and wheel specific settings?

Thinking about canceling my preorder because of their failure to fix terrible tire scrubbing and floaty feeling from Shift 1.

Do it. Cancel. I'm totally serious.

As of tomorrow there will be innumerable videos being posted, as well as lots of reviews from all sorts of people. You will then be able to make an informed decision before buying the game, and avoid the possibility of being disappointed because it wasn't what you hoped for.

It's not worth sticking with your preorder if you're unsure when you could just wait a day, and be sure that it's what you want.

Got mine yesterday .. A little hint for you guys, don't play it after GT5 lol

In a good way or a bad way? You want to elaborate on that a little? It's not like the EA police are going to come and kick down your door if you tell us about your experience playing with a legit copy.

Whats that suppose to mean? can you be a little more specific?

Because I tryed the zonda r in GT5 and then I tryed in Shift 1 and in SHIFT 1 it actually felt like it was going somewere (even with the crappy physics) it actually has sence of speed unlike GT5...

EDIT: imari you beat me to it

To be more specific , you will hate Shift 2

That's not being specific at all, that's just being a troll. If you have information, share it. If you're just here to play the "GT5 is so much better than Shift 2, you guys are idiots" game then you might as well do us all a favour and not bother.

Sorry if you miss understand me , I didn't have enough time to post more information so as i mentioned the word "hint" before I just tried to give you a little note. I was going to open a new thread yesterday to post my feedback unfortunately I didn't have enough time to do that.

The game in general is fun to play , the graphics are not that great but the physics have slightly improved. As we all know, shift 2 is based on 1 , with improvements in all aspect as they claimed although i didn't notice HUGE improvements.

I apologize again for not giving the needed information , if anyone has a question regarding the game please do ask ill try to give you all what you need to know about the game ..

^ Do you have a legitimate release copy? If not, I will disregard any information given as who knows what version of the game it is...

Just two questions if you be so kind...

Do you have the PS3 version and are you playing it with a (what) wheel?

Thanks

I knew it !!!! thats why I took some pics directly after my last post lol

I have a question: Is the game overhyped and are they lying about the super realistic physics and damage?

Who claimed the game had super realistic physics and damage? I heard advanced physics - realistic racer - cool damage. supercalirealisticexpialidocious I think thats from another movie not this one

Dont take it personaly because its from the same guy that said that in the official event last week they didnt have a legit final game version available for testing.

So its the PS3 version... thanks. did you play with a wheel (if so what wheel) and how are the graphics/frame rate/screan tearing?

They said it has the most advanced physics in a driving game yet. Believe me I was stunned when I heard it too, I've been closely watching all the PR. Given the fact that they were going against GT5 and FM3 I thought they must have some dynamite physics to make such bold claims. Now it sounds like that may have been bull so I'm worried about what else they lied about. :(

Im probably not buying it either and its really a bummer because I enjoyed the first one but was really looking foward to a Shift game with good physics:nervous:

I am using G27

I have a question: Is the game overhyped and are they lying about the super realistic physics and damage?

To be honest yes , The game doesn't deserve all that advertisements..

The physics of the game are almost the same brought from shift 1 , as i said i didn't notice any huge differences. They consider shift 1 as simulator! and now in their videos they claimed that its the most Realistic racing game ever produced !!!
To me its not realistic as it should be , The differences between the cars for example doesn't gives you the right feeling. Moreover the way the car handles at high speeds is funny .. Thats why i mentioned GT5 ..

The plot thickens. First tracks, now physics. Interesting.

My PS3 version is coming in Wednesday the latest, so I'll be able to comapre both PS3/X360 versions, both with the wheels.

Will make a special wheel-handling overview:

> PS3 with Logitech G25 and Fanatec GT2 CSP, and
> X360 with Fanatec GT2 CSP

Just from playing like about half an hour yesterday, I reached level 7. I didn't touch the Steering wheel settings yet but the clutch is funny , you can't notice any difference weather its working or not , maybe there is something that i have to do other than enable it from "options" menu ..

graphics/frame rate/screan tearing?

unfortunately , no huge improvement to any of these ! still not perfect

Mate, I was almost drooling over the claims made and the videos all over the net. If this game is the fake people say it is I am going to be so sad. :(

Thanks UAEmonster, while I almost hate you for being the bearer of such bad news I thank you as you may same me some money...

My apologies for insinuating that you were trolling before. Any information you provide is appreciated.

First question I guess, does the youtube upload feature work?

For me I feel like the physics are nearly the same, just enhanced a bit.

Graphics wise tho it's very nice.

Also for those wondering there's a deadzone on the controller too but you can turn it to 0 if you want.

Bourner: lol

If you liked shift 1 you will enjoy 2 , There are some cool stuff in customization for example but my point is :

From all the advertisements and the claims we were expecting somthing NEW something will let us stop playing GT5 something will let you improve your real driving techniques but the game doesn't deliver all that..

Imari: Its ok buddy , i forgot to try that feature lol

Well I was not dreaming of better than GT5 or FM3 physics but at least something that actually resembled real driving. In my honest opinion the physics in SHIFT1 and the controls were terrible. :yuck:

SHFT1 was fun, looked great and was very jazzy. I imagined that better plus physics comparable with GT5 or FM3. I guess I got fooled by the PR blitz too. No wonder no demo... 💡

comparable to FM3 but to GT5 ! NO WAY lol

actually considering FM3 as simulation racing is not fair ! it doesn't feel real at all at some points shift2 gives you better realistic feelings while racing

^ that's a good sign to me then, because IN MY OPINION FM3's physics (aside from the forced steering help) were much better than GT5's (GT5 physics were still enjoyable).

Plus the comments from the AVforums post give me great confidence, as the guys chatting are long term sim fans, and it seems here I'm seeing comments from the GT5 bias fanclub (duh, it's a GT forum!) :(
