No way! Since when it has an F?That game, NFS...
Omitting the "f" in the 2nd word.
Seriously EA saw it coming, they're kinda masochists.

Shift is just like Grid, all flash no substance, kinda like Hollywood nowadays. 👎
If you have control in Shift, you've tamed a beast. If you have control in GT, you've tamed a god.
i like NFS shift, I get to have fun with friends coming over.
Now when I'm alone and have time to focus, GT5 it is.
GT5 Demo is superb, much more like a PC sim which is fantastic. I think PD has done really well with the physics. 👍
In my opinion ...... Shift is at best an Arcade game made for the masses. I can drive fast with one hand on the wheel.
GT is and always has been as close to a true Sim as you can get in a console game. Far superior in true car feeling. It is ridiculous to even try and compare the two.
I finished Shift to level 50 in 1 week and returned the piece of crap for a store creditIt's flaws are well documented in several threads.
For the record, I have owned every racing game for PS3 with the exception of SCC, so I can't use it in my comparisons.
I was talking about the demo of gt5 one car one track, not about content or anything else
I'm surprised being the only one to prefer NFS shift driving feeling to GT5demo's. I don't enderstand...for me NFS shift is just fantastic with setting adjustment, did all of you spend time to adjust all settings one by one??
In GT5 sometime, there is too much understair, the car can't turn anymore and you have to fight with the wheel...even with car like Suzuki swift sport, a little sport car renowned for a very good handling and being easy to drive.
I'm sorry but realistic doesn't mean hard to drive...lots of people tend to forget this
And i'm am lucky enought to have my car in NFSshift and i really feel the same in front of my tv than in my car (without adrenalin ang G force, just the feeling in my hands)
Shift has caused huge debate in the sim community--some love the tire model and the underlying physics, others hate it. Other games have caused the same reaction over the years, including GTR2, which eventually became a sim favorite on PC. AutoSimSport, in their latest issue online, has a good review of Shift and covers this thoroughly. I agree with most of their impressions and I believe their viewpoint is in agreement with yours Enciah.
I play Shift on PC. One problem with it is the controller set up in default mode was not good. It took quite a while to get a setting that worked with the G25. I think a lot of gamers with G25s gave up before they adjusted the settings. This default setting was a mistake by Slightly Mad Studios--hopefully they'll do better in the future.
Once you clear that hurdle, the game becomes a lot of fun. The graphics, at least on the PC, rival GT5p. Exterior car models are not as good as GT5p but the interiors are better in many respects...and as I drive from the in car view this makes the Shift's graphics very competitive with GT5p when played on PC.
The driving model is actually very good in Shift. The tire model may be the best available--it was done by the same guy that did Richard Burns Rally. It gives you an excellent feel of when you are losing traction, make an adjustment and then regain traction. That whole process of a tire at the limit in Shift is outstanding. But if your wheel setting is off you will miss the handling due to poor default wheel settings.
The problem is not in the driving model--which is a good simulation, it is in the racing model. The racing leans to arcade. The AI is too aggressive in spots and then slows way too much for corners. The default lap setting is usually 2-3 laps only. All of this is meant to give you a short, fun race and it succeeds in many ways at doing that. But it does not simulate actual racing very well, even though the underlying driving model is very good.
It's too bad some people seem to have given up on Shift but with the default wheel settings it isn't too surprising. Of course, this forum is wildly biased toward GT--no surprise there. GT can do little wrong for many on the forum and those same people won't acknowledge excellence in other games. I am excited to play GT5 but I also enjoy sims on PC and yes, I appreciate what Tun 10 has done with Forza 3 too.
Shift has its problems but the underlying tire model, physics and graphics have me excited to see what Slightly Mad Studios has planned for the future. If nothing else, simulation fans should be happy that a big company like EA took a step away from arcade toward simulation with one of their premiere franchises, NFS.
If you could take the best bits of shift and the best bits of GT you would have an absolutely epic game. For me Shift tries to replicate the thrill and adrenaline you get when racing (and does quite well) whilst GT concentrates on the actual physics of driving where the thrill comes from nailing that apex and taking another tenth off your best lap.
The OP asks which is the best feeling and I have to say shift. sorry![]()
Had he asked which is the best handling, best driving, or most realistic I would have voted the otherway though
I play NFS shift for a while and just got the GT5.
GT5 has really more fancy graphics, which I already knew as I saw some videos, but I'm really disappointed about the driving experience. I found it very unrealistic, I can't feel the car at all. Everything seems almost always a lot artificial.
Driving is ARTIFICIALLY hard in some points, like driving a rear traction car and losing the line. Even a 63 HP car spins like it had 500 HP (and even if you loose the gas). Seems like the game entered in a "spin anyway" condition (blah!). And, in the other hand, things that should cause problems simply don't: when the car leaves the ground, it lands ALWAYS smooth and harmless just as it didn't happen. If it weren't for the "bump" sound, you wouldn't know about it. I found the physics very poor in GT5 prologue, hope it improves a lot when the final version comes.
Until now, I played both only on controller, but will acquire a wheel soon. By this time, NFS seems way better to me.
