To be honest (as I like to believe I always am), I don't see much of a difference between the 2 shots. Basically, I can see the edited one has more contrast and the part of the car that's on the shade is darker.

But for more detailed info, I need to know what exactly did you do to the shot and on what part of the shot would you like to focus.
As for any tips or whatever, just state your questions, where you're going with the shot, whatever, and I'll try to help you out within my knowlegde.

Looks like you use waaay too much blur tool which completely eliminates curves and body lines, making the picture much too soft looking.

IMO U are learning new things real fast. The clean up is quite good, and I really like the "soft" look. Maybe next time U can add a bit of motion blur...👍

Keep doing more mate, U are on the good way:)

Thanks you all, thats all I needed to ear. I’m still trying to improve on Photoshop. Every time I am on it I learn a new thing. I found a website with more than 700 tutorials for Photoshop, so I am not going to have time to update my gallery anywhere near. I am still joining competitions (if I can).

You can learn A LOT from the tutorials on GTP, LdS.
And with the added bonus that they are exclusively about editing GT4 photos, so they're extremely helpful right from the start.
I learned all the basics from there, and the rest I picked while experimenting and from other GTP members that helped me out in one thing or another.

Like I said, whatever I can do to help out, just ask. 👍

I know, I already red them all, but I need something more…something different. More knowledge.

I don't get how you put a linkon the image over another image, but By god, that is some work, you make GTPlanet Boards look Fancy..:)

Thanks. Well, if you want I can tell you how. Just P.M. me.

Ok, I am experimenting new things, and I think I am going rather well (well, speaking the truth I don’t know, you are the critics).
This is my second (if we count well, is the third) Test semi-update (well, I don’t call these tests really updates, I can add them to the random ones).
So, what do you all think of these???

Click to see the original one

I still have alot to work on.

It's a bit dark, needs levels adjustments. The preview is much more pleasant to the eye.
But looks nice, the reflections (which will stand out even more with the levels/curves tweaked) seem pretty good, excellent in fact. Pretty solid base for a good cleanup and a great image popping out. 👍
Tones are interesting also.

Only since the Honda badge is the main focal point on the shot, it should be reworked, in definition and light, otherwise the entire image loses because of that small detail.

I take it you're practicing for this week's H2H comp. :D

I'm guessing the link to the big image is just to see the original... The "preview" is fantastic, I was really surprised when I saw it. Those spot lights doesn't look bad, and the color and burned sides give a wonderful feeling 👍

PS. A new logo in the license plate could improve the definition of the photo. It's something like an optical effect. If you see a low res text, all will seem poor, as same as you put a defined logo the rest will look more real. A little tip :)

Well i think Beerzy pretty much says it all i guess. Other than that i think you need to smudged out all of that blocky side intakes. (it really spoils a good clean-up) and also try not to use too much blur. It could really affect the reflections of the car (just take it from me :sly:)

Oh what am i saying, my gallery is like crap and i don't even know how to do clean-ups!

I don't know if you do this or not, but do NOT use Image > Adjustments > Brightness/ Contrast. Adjust brightness and contrast using Levels, and Shadows and Highlights or else the image will not come out as clear as you'd probably like it.

I don't know how far you went on the editing on that Honda photo, but you should use the smudge tool on a low setting (12-15%) to buff out those jagged edges. If you want, I could edit the original so I could show you how to do everything that you did without making the image so desaturated (unless you were going for that look.)

Hmmm.... :dunce:

Now that I read alex's comment I realize that the big image is the original. As it is too big, I couldn't tell much from it and was actually doing most of my comment looking at the 'preview', which like I said, is much better. 👍

Some details could be fixed indeed, using cleaning techniques, like reflections and the intake area. But not all people want to do difficult things, so I think this Integra is better as it is rather messing up it with wrong cleanings or whatever.

I think I need to put my images a little bigger. 640 pixels of width, I think it is not enough to look at the details even though these has 700. Maybe 750/800 pixels width. (I never know the height value).

Well thanks for commenting and the tips. I was getting scared when I saw you saying that the picture was dark… 👍
And no, I am not entering this picture for the H2H.

Thanks for the tip and commenting Alex. I‘ll try that next time. I never looked at that detail, I think I need to have a more eagle eye about my pictures. 👍

I don’t know how to clean. Well, I already saw the tutorials for cleaning and I still don’t get the results I want? And I don't know why? Am I doing something wrong? A drawing pencil…maybe…that’s it, a drawing pencil would make my life much easier, and I would Photoshop much faster and better. I need to buy one.

Normally I use the Brightness/ Contrast, but in this on I used both.
I didn't try cleaning this time.

Well if you're rich just get one of those fancy "drawing stylus" (or whatever you call it) and use it on your computer. Or if that isn't enough, try buying a tablet pc with a styles included and install PS on and draw!

Which version of photoshop are you currently using?

As far as image sizes, for horizontal images, 720px max height is good, and you can go as wide as 850/900px with no problem.

btw, could you describe the process you're using for cleaning? It would be easier to correct anything or give any tips if I know exactly how you're working on the shots.

Hey LdS, can't stop looking at the word mnm_bmx has below his username.👍

Well, I didn’t what to bother you, but I’ll send you a PM with all the details. Thanks.

If you cut the last “e” and the “k”……I hope it doesn’t mean the same.

Merda? lol, I also was noticed when he started to use it. Merdeka sounds very cool! Hope mnm could say what it means. It's like the Mitsu Pajero and Toyota Puto hehe.

About cleaning, there are some methods as you know, but don't force yourself to use those things if you don't feel like doing it. As I said, a bad cleaning will be worse than no cleaning in most of the cases. But of course, you can experiment but not as it were the most important.

Salu2.alexwrc

U are on the good way, U did a simple work...but very effective IMO:tup:
Just some lines of the car to adjust, and maybe a little more brighter.
👍

BTW mate, can I remix the original shot?

I’m seeing what is wrong with ”puto”, but “pajero”? What’s wrong with that name?

Thanks for the tip, but I am determinate to learn whatever I have to learn, to reach the higher levels.

Off course you can do a remix.👍

I like that you have different angles, however the photos' overall quality aren't that great. I have a few tips for you to keep in mind when you edit your photos. Try adjusting the contrast to remove the white haze that sometimes comes with raising the brightness. Next adjust the saturation of your photos; alot of them are bland and washed out and increasing the saturation will make the colors pop in your photos. Another tip to improve your photos would be to clean up some of the edges using the smudge tool on a low intensity. This will greatly improve the realistic element of your photos. I look forward to your next update

Thanks for the tip, I'll try and do that the next time. Mixing with my new way of enhance my photos.

Well, pajero is related to masturbation, so it's not a good commercial name hehe. In Spain the Mitsu Pajero is called Montero.

Finaly, an Update

It is not for the praise, but I love this panel, and for me it is the best I ever produced (in my opinion).

I usually don't like pictures of the AutoUnion, but yours are great. Great panel, too. The only thing that sort of throws off the look of the panel is that two of the shots are B&W and one is like sephia tone. Good job, anyways. 👍

Uhmmmm, the thumbnail promised. They are all good, I love how you caught the car and what you did with them. I only was a bit scared to see the little details, I was expecting it, and in fact I think your work need a little bump.

In example, the hard lighting of the 1st one is amazing, and at the same time you need to take care of distorted colors. There are some methods to redefine the color with brush tool.

The 2nd one is very amazing too, the streamline design is nicely photographed. Great cleanup (Sharp and metallic!)and great blur. I miss some of noise in the tarmac to "scratch" it when blurring, and I don't know why I don't feel good with the geometry of the whole image elements.

The 3rd one has a great scenery and great in-front-of-sun (Contraluz :P) effect. Some rough lines in the car.

The panel is not bad, the idea is good, but as I said the final execution of those ideas need a bump. It's purely a technical improvement I think, so don't feel rushed to learn all things in a minute, because this usually takes years hehe.

All things in this update are awesome IMO!!! The car is bit "ugly", but U made it look gorgeous. All of them are great, but the middle one...its very unqiue, with a very wild camera...and the sense of speed its all there.👍
About the panel, very effective...and quite professional...are U sure its your 1st one?! 👍

Hope to see more soon...and btw U deserv +REP LDS!!!

Now that I notice that…hmmm….the sepia one should have been putted in the middle (why didn’t I thought of it). Thanks for the comment. 👍

I want to learn everything I have to learn before GT5 Prologue or GT5 comes out, because I will not have the opportunity to afford one PS3, and I am sure that after it comes out, GT4 area and the GT4 Photos Galleries will be almost empty…:indiff:

Thanks for the comment and for the +rep (it wasn’t needed), and no I didn’t say it was my first one, I said it is the one I most like, and the best I ever produced until now. (IMO) 👍

the previews awesome. i love the faded look to the back round with the bold honda badge. it just needs to blend in better with the back round. 👍

i like the second on the best of auto union. it seems to have the more unqiue angles ive seen for a little while. plus, the contrast/boldness on the third one is also well done. 👍

ill catch up with the rest of your gallery when i get the chance :)

Thanks. That Integra was an experience, but I also love it. I think I am going to stand a bit more the car, and add it to the random section. 👍
