no replacement ps3

was supposed to get it today
and its still not turned up
has anybody else had it sent late? or not turn up

im gutted thought id be able to have a game tonight
 
lol, in the UK things rarely turn up the day they are supposed to.... Ive waited up to a week after things were supposed to come for they actually got here.

I would give it a while considering the weight and nature of the package.

A member here named Beerz waited 3 months before he got another one, so consider yourself lucky if it's only a few days late.

They didn't give you any sort of tracking number or anything?

all i was told is a man would turn up with some box with yellow tape on it
and he would swap them over

Weight and size should not delay a package!! My PS3 box says its 7KG with all the extra stuff that comes with it, so a console only will be about 5KG....hardly a lot when I've sent stuff weighing 60KG that has arrived on time!

Also, as for the "nature of the package", its not gonna have a big sticker on it saying "Playstation 3 console", so the delivery company wont have a clue what's in it, they will just think its another parcel.

Either someone at Sony has messed up and not sent it out, or it was sent out a little too late and missed the last shipment. Either way, it did not arrive on time and he should therefore contact Sony.

He's from the UK, here you dont send it away to get repaired, a guy comes to your door with an empty box for your faulty console, and then swaps it at the door with a new or refurb console (as Sony's discretion).

just got off the phone with sony they reckon theres no information in the system about a replacment:scared:
it didnt even show up when i gave them the number i got when i last phoned
now ive got to wait for them to call back
what a joke!

looks like its back to pc gaming for me :(

Plus people can judge what it is by its size and weight without opening it. How do you think so many DVD's, games and ipods get nicked every year!

Thats the biggest load of crap iv read in a long time! BY UK LAW they CAN NOT open your parcel UNLESS its for customs or they have reason to believe its something illegal or dangerous.

Weight dont mean jack, for all they know it could be a few bricks! I get loads of stuff delivered, and I ship out a fair few things too, and not once has weight made a blind bit of difference.

I even got 2 mini moto's shipped to me and it arrived on time! I got a £1500 laptop at December and the company I bought it from never even put it in plain box, it had all the shipping labels & documents stuck to the retail packaging which CLEARLY showed the contents.

However it arrived unopened, and the reason I know that for a fact is because the security tape from the manufacturer which has their company name and logo on it was still in tact.

You speak some crap sometimes and im not the only one who thinks so, even Jeremy Ricci appears to be getting fed up with your ridiculous posts...

By the way, if you are getting stuff nicked, or heavy stuff takes AGES to arrive because your delivery companies are lazy, I suggest you either complain or start using a different delivery company.

I have had dealings with TNT, FedEX, UPS, Parcel Force, Royal Mail, Hong Kong Mail, DHL, etc, etc and the only time I have had any trouble was with Royal Mail delivering a special delivery item in 2 days instead of next day, and that was a small package (4GB Memory Stick Duo).
 
well what a load of bull ive just had with the sony helpline
the sony man who rang me back wasnt even a supervisor
hes informed me that they didnt send it out as there isnt one to send!

he reckons it will be the 29th or the best he can do it will be the 24th this month!
as they havent got enough ps3's to send surely sony must have enough replacments kicking about its a joke

ive yet again asked to speak to a supervisor as im not happy
thats going to be three weeks by the time i get a ps3 again
thats if they deliver it on that date like the one i had booked today

i think its bad how i can book a day for it to come then wait a week
for it not to show up without no email or call saying it wouldnt

then the 1st time i rang today they said they didnt even know one was being sent out

hopefully i can get it sent sooner when he rings back
but ive got a feeling ill be ringing them back tommorow

was looking forward to some gt5 and cod4 tonight too guess it will be a few weeks now

Out of curiousity do you have a 60GB or 40GB machine? Reason I ask is they will replace a 60GB with a 60GB (refurbished of course) and the fact they are no longer made means they will be harder to get hold of.

Where as 40GB should be in plentiful supply.
 
Very strange! I thought they would have stock piles of them! Get onto a supervisor or manager and complain! You never know, they might give you a freebie like a game or extra controller

so hopefully he says swap it at tesco but i highly doubt it

My main gripe with you is that you always seem to think your right, and you come up with some of the most ludacris opinions and suggestions which can sometimes confuse some of the less tach-savvy members if they are requiring help.

You always go on about "maybe this is the problem..." and "what if Sony do this..." and "is it possible to get this and that to do...."

99% of the stuff you post is fiction, where as I am trying to post fact to help fellow members, not confuse them.

To be honest I couldn't care less if you had been here 50 years before I joined, with all the crap you post im actually surprised no-one else has brought this to your attention!

Also, Iv noticed in this thread and in that other thread you always replaced info I have put that prooves you wrong with "bla bla bla" because you know im right, but you just can't admit it!

For the record, I ended up being right....someone at Sony cocked up and now he has to wait another 2 weeks or so to get a working PS3 from them! So much for your "wait and see incase the mail man was lazy or stole it" mentality!

Dont expect any more replies from me in this thread apart from trying to help the OP. End of discussion!

tesco said they would replace it but sony have to be authorize it first

most of the other people on the thread about 2.40 breaking our ps3's are now saying it will be the 28th or 29th
i think thats fine..
what i dont think is fine is how it was already booked in for replacement
and they missed that and now ive got to wait aswell
and they worst thing is i didnt even get a email
letting me know the change
what says on the 29th they wont pull the same story again..
they want to be new ones there sending out
i cant see how they say its low-stock

Edit*just spoke to him and it seems i can take it to tescos and swap it if its still ok with tesco
or i can wait till the 29th for a new console as they dont have fixed ones to send it will be a new one

i asked him if i would get anything free for the hassle and wait and he said that shouldnt be a problem he will see what he can do
now im just waiting on tescos repair to call me back to see what they say
 
Wow Sony are really rubbish. I work for a huge corporate company, and our customer service is rubbish too, but not even having a record of your call is down right ridiculous. But as others have said it takes ages for them to get stuff sorted.

Sorry your having this kind of trouble, hope it gets sorted soon

LIES, LIES, LIES!! Tesco are responsible, but they want to flog you off to Sony to save them the hassle of replacing it then having to send it back to Sony themselves.

makes me wonder what the 'limited number' really was
he said 800 went out yesterday
and currys have been on the phone to them saying so many people are going in there with broke ps3's
now i just got to wait till the 16th and hope they send it this time

Ratchet and Clank is actually a pretty fun game, and is what PS3Fanboy calls the 2nd best PS3 exclusive of 2007.

Glad you got it sorted mate! As said above, you might even get the new Dual Shock 3.

As for the 2 games, if you dont want them you can always flog 'em on ebay.

I wouldn't call Ratchet and Clank a crap game. :) It's the complete opposite in my eyes. Folklore isn't too bad (apparently), but I didn't like the demo.

Folklaw? I assume you mean Folklore? It's actually a pretty good game. And Ratchet is an excellent game.
