Had to improvise with the Jalapeños from our fridge since we forgot to get them in the meal but otherwise good stuff.

Another attempt at roast chicken crown... roasted the chicken on a bed of coursely chopped onions, carrots, whole garlic cloves, lemon thyme and rosemary - adding some chicken stock midway through to stop the veg from charring, and to make a lush gravy with the juices of the chicken mixed in.

This time I poured the gravy around the chicken and not over it so the skin stayed nice and crispy, and it was soooo nice.

I also rested the chicken after it came out of the oven and it was the best I've ever cooked, and I have made a soup for lunch today using the carcass and ample chicken trimmings, which will last for two days.

These are the best frozen pizzas you can get in the UK at the moment IMO - the Fiorentina (veggie) one is excellent with a bit of Milano salami on it 😅
Wow, lucky pick for me. It was really good and I smeared some of my favourite 'nduja on for an extra kick.

Looking at the bag, it says “black pepper toscano cheese.” I just figured it was marketing speak for Tuscan. The brand is Trader Joe’s. I don’t know if you have that in the UK, but it’s fairly popular in the US.

OK. Sounds like it's Pecorino Toscano. I got confused because Google says there's Toscano cigars and leather alongside the oil.

I guess it's the equivalent to using "English" to describe baked goods or the amount of spin on a baseball, whereas to me it's a big list of words arranged using set rules of grammar and syntax.

So, back a few years, our semi-commie government decided to label food content with these black stamps: excess calories, sugar, and saturated fats, and so on.

The thing is, no one I know really cares about the labels, and for me, 3 black stamps means it's delicious!
Putting it on cake is stupid, but a consequence of bureaucracy. It should be on things you don't expect to be high in those things so that you're not accidentally consuming more than you think.

POG-Tequila carbonated cocktail.

2.25oz Langers POG (pineapple, orange, guava), secondary filtered
1.75oz Cuervo Reposado
.75oz lime juice
1.25oz water

Mixed in the bottle and popped in the freezer for an hour. Direct carbonation like a keg rig, not a SodaStream. Two passes of carbonation for extra sharp snap. 💥
