Now there is rain, why is there no rain tyres?

Dan said that there are, they are just fitted automatically when you have a race in the rain.

As there is no weather transition a selection was not needed. Like mentioned, they are automatically installed. Not sure what the rest of your sentence is supposed to mean after the question, though.

Yes it is very strange that they did not include rain tires but I would guess this would completely hose their PI system as rain tires would give a different PI than slicks.

It is cool that they finally added rain and night time but pretty lame that there is no transitions. I personally do not like driving in the rain so will mostly avoid those tracks since it is always raining on them.

Another thing that bugs me in every Forza since FM2 is the way they have handled the sun. Starting in FM3 there were at least a few tracks where either the sun would be in your eyes or in such a position as to create glare or otherwise have an adverse impact on your race. This is fine and realistic on a game where there is a dynamic time or the time is adjustable for the race start but on Forza 3-6 there is no dynamic time and the time is not adjustable so why on earth did they decide to place the sun in a position on some tracks that it would cause an issue while driving? Sedona on 3 was the worst of all there was one spot where the sun would almost blind you as you came over a hill.

I don't know if others feel the same or not but IMO if they are not going to have a dynamic or adjustable time of day then they should just set it at noon or there abouts so the sun is directly overhead and not an issue

Correct answers. The rain tires are automatically fitted. Honestly a VERY good idea.

That, or the fact that there is no need for them outside of certain tracks, since its not transitional.

You don't like the rain? Man, it happens to be my favorite feature. Not only for how intense the racing gets, but for the reactions of the people, and how horribly alot of people tend to drive in it

You've should have seen it in 5

I also LOVE the rain driving. It is by far THE best rain driving I have ever seen in a racing game. Especially the water physics and the fact that it also rains INSIDE the car. Impressive attention to detail. And if you race with the cockpit view its an incredible, immersive experience that no other sim game has even come close to. The rain audio is perfect.

I am holding out hope that dynamic time of day eventually comes to Forza 6, in Project Cars it is a nice feature being able to set the time and type weather you want to drive or photograph in.

Forza 6? I wouldn't think so. At this time, it just seems like it can't be done while holding a stable frame rate on console. I'm truly hopeful that any game would be able to do it sometime, while holding onto a locked 60fps

Yeah, I'm not holding my breath on it, for sure.

No way dynamic weather or night day it is coming to F6. I wouldn't even count on it being in F7. I am just happy to see it finally make an appearance and . Looking forward to more rain and night tracks in F7. I am sure they will also add at least 1 more rain or night track to F6. But it wont be dynamic.

I can maybe see dynamic night day in F7 on some of the tracks like Lemans and Nurburgring, but I would not count on dynamic weather happening. Baby steps.

Back on the subject of tires, I enjoy the extra decision-making in choosing the right grade of tire for a race, rather than having the game do the deciding. That said, it makes mores sense when the weather is dynamic.

As it is, there is no reason to have to decide though, as the only reason it would be needed is if the weather was transitional like it happens to be in PCars, or GT.

However, if there was different grades of rain tires I can see that being the case. Since tires effect PI, it would be interesting for people to have multiple choices, and which they would choose; the most grip in sacrifice for speed, or slightly less grip will still holding on to some of the speed.

Also, wear rate could be a factor for longer races. Harder tires with less grip and longer life vs softer ones with more grip and more pit stops.

Yep, Ironically they had choices in Forza 2 but removed them in Forza 3 and they have not been back since.
If memory serves Forza 2 had something like 10 choices of Racing tires and each was a little different in terms of grip, life and sidewall flex and each had slightly different PI ratings.

Oddly enough though you could not change the tires on any of the race cars.

Street cars though had several choices not only in race tires but street and sport tires also. I wish they would have left that in.

BTW Grip usually equals speed.
The choice is usually between tire life and speed. Soft(grippy) tires give fast laps but wear out quickly where harder tires last longer but give slower laps
