Dude i was about to make a thread about this car because i had one but never really drove it and then i drove like 2 nights ago an domg this thing is so fast for only 350 hp tune and i was killing so many cars online with this thing

Lack? Yeah you only have about 270 european cars... Guess you got bored with them?

Lack of my favorite euro cars would be more appropriate. A lot of my favorites aren't in this game so I've been looking at other cars I've ignored in the past.

Thanks for bring this car to my attention. I grabbed one, added a carbon hood, a wing, soft tires and cleaned up in the Japanese Championship.

This ain't a car - it's a laser guided weapon! Perfectly balanced a pure joy to drive. They should have named it the SEX...yes its that good :)

I might have to look into this.

I know that, given this is the internet, people are going to call 'bollocks' but when I was a motoring hack I was organising a feature for Bruno Senna to drive the first NSX that arrived in the UK, a burgundy one that Ayrton Senna drove as part of the promo. I was going to get to drive it too, but the only days we could get it were days that I was on holiday.

Super, super lame. One of only two genuine regrets I have in my life.

Going to have to get hold of one of these, I've got a few credits lying around from the seasonal events...

One of my fav cars of all time in real life.

I bought the NSX R premium 02 white, installed the whole porno body kit, black hood, negative camber, ultra low suspension and boom, it still drives like a dream.
I used it on the rally tracks and drifting was so dirty fun. She takes every corner so powerful and yet with so much ease.
And loosing control is impossible. It's like you steer with the car were ever you want, she brings you exactly to that destination and the back is separately doing some big show action to make it look ultra dramatic.

Thanks for this thread, I bought one last night and took it round the Nurburgring. Very impressive, feels like you can take any corner automatically one gear or two higher than in any other car. I gave in and modified it and thankfully it's still just as driveable, just a bit nippier, and got my fastest time round the ring (even beat my 458 time no probs). Such a beautiful fun car to drive, I've never really enjoyed it in the previous games for some reason but I am converted now.

I don't get the VTEC kick from my NSX Type-R 02'.

Real life VTEC driver here!

Do any of them kick? I figured they wouldn't but then again I was never listening for it.

Never noticed a Vtec ingame like I do IRL. They need to make the engine scream damnit :(

But you dont really feel the lag turbo on the F40 neither which is bad because it was one of the stuff I wanted to have fun with.

I did a silly thing with the NSX-R 02, hoping I can get some help...

I bought one after reading this thread, and ended up tuning it straight away using the LDP tune from the tuning section. Took it for a drive on the 'burg with my wheel and I can't get the power down without losing the back end at all well. I don't know whether it's the tune or whether i'm just approaching this car wrong, i'm used to driving the SLS in the AMG academy in the wet so i'm used to being light on the accelerator but i just expected it to feel a bit more stable than it does. I also tried the Avid tune but this understeered quite a bit and was less progressive.

So, I should probably buy a stock NSX again to compare how it felt before i fiddled with it, anyone have any recommendations on tuning settings though?

This was on sports softs which is what the Lions Den tune is based on.

I loved the NSX in GT5 Prolouge so it was one of the first cars I bought in GT5. It is absolutely fabulous. So good in fact that I am seriously considering getting on in real life. Something I never ever would have done had it not been for Gran Turismo.

This car is completely absurd. I bought the premium 91 NSX a while back and was in love with it immediately, it was just a joy to drive. Some time has passed and I had a big pile of credits laying around, so I decided to finally try the newer premium NSX-R.

It's been a while since I have been this impressed with a car. The handling is just phenomenal. I put Sport Softs on it, changed the oil and installed an air filter before I took it out for my first run.

Everything on this car feels perfect. I swear even the force feedback on my DFGT feels completely different when driving this car, way more direct. The car is so cooperative, predictable, and well behaved in general that I had to keep checking to make sure I hadn't accidentally enabled a driving aid or anything...this car is amazing. Make sure you check it out :)

The feedback feel more direct 'cause that car lacks power steering in real life.

I love my white 2002 NSX-R too, it's just perfectly balanced car. Thanks, Ayrton. Thanks, PD.

Man I just bought another NSX-R. Painted it matte red and took it totally stock to a lap on the Nurburgring. I was smiling the 20 kilometers it lasted. You can floor it confidently, it turns fast, responsive, no inertia can unglue it off the floor, its cornering speed is unmatched by any supercar with all those computers and stuff. Simply put. It's one of the best cars ever. The best in my heart :dopey:

Uhm, what? The NSX has been one of the first cars to implement a full drive by wire and throttle by wire system. Unless that was scrapped for the '02 NSX Type R (which I seriously doubt) the car has powersteering.

Second generation NSX-R (JDM)
A second iteration of the NSX-R was released in 2002, again exclusively in Japan. As with the first NSX-R, weight reduction was the primary focus for performance enhancement. The chassis is based on the fixed-roof coupe, due to its lighter weight and more rigid construction. Carbon fiber was used to a large extent throughout the body components to reduce weight, including a larger, more aggressive rear spoiler, vented hood and deck lid. The vented hood was said to be the largest one-piece carbon-fiber hood in production cars. Additionally, the original NSX-R weight reduction techniques were repeated, including deletion of the audio system, sound insulation and air conditioning. Furthermore, the power steering was removed. A single-pane rear divider was again used, as were carbon-kevlar racing seats manufactured for Honda by Recaro. Finally, larger yet lighter wheels resulted in a total weight reduction of almost 100 kg (220 lb) to 1,270 kg (2,800 lb).

Source Wikipedia. But I heard they removed it on one Best Motoring episode first.

very happy to see so many nsx fans in this thread, made my day :]

To clarify some of the earlier posts above, the vtec engagement on the nsx is actually quite smooth in real life so you hardly feel it.

There is no power steering in the early nsx models from 1991-1994 which gave a very direct feedback of the road back to the driver. It requires more strength, especially during low speed parking lot maneuvers, but the direct feeling you get is incredible. However, some people complained it required too much effort, and so power steering was made standard from 95 onwards.

The drive by wire system for the throttle though, was standard for all model years.

Here is a video link for my quick youtube video of my nsx in gt5, hope this loads up as it's my first time embedding video:

if you guys ever spot me in socal don't hesitate to ask for a ride :]

What a lovely car you have there

And nice tuning too in the game, you don't upset the car's already great handling by adding HP like mad.

nsx-r lm is god mode. Its almost too easy

Check this great video about Senna and the nsx...:

spy.

Great vid... interesting handling on the NSX there... turn in oversteer on the brakes, oversteer when he gets on the power to balance the weight shift, then loads of mid corner understeer followed by a heap of exit oversteer... if you ignore the mid corner understeer that's pretty much how the NSX handles in GT5 :)

Only Aryton can make heel and toeing in loafers look good.

Go search for Nurburgring & Yellowbird & Stefan Rosser on Youtube... you'll see another driver who can do amazing things with a car whilst wearing street clothes loafers and no crash helmet ;)

How do the Super GT's such as the Takata Dome NSX compare to the Road going versions? Do they keep the same handling traits, but pump up the speed? I have a couple different Super GT versions that I haven't had a chance to drive yet, but haven't acquired a road going version yet. I think it may be the next car I add to my stable. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the LM versions in the UCD

The NSX Type R '02 is such an incredible beast around the track it isn't even funny anymore. I've got one in Midnight Pearl, the white Prodrive rims with sport softs on it and an oil change, stock otherwise.

A dream to drive. And doing sub 7:40 times at the 'Ring. Quite impressive for a car that's weighing in at 2500+lbs and only got ~280HP.

The video in your signature is amazing.

Ok, back on topic, sorry.

And you've obviously got a good taste 👍

On topic, I've recently bought a second NSX-R to tune it. Full weight reduction, adjustaple suspension etc., and it's just as fast as an RM'ed car in its power and weight range.
