Do you race?
Since this is a 24 hours race, do the weather conditions actually change from day to night ... or are you just racing in a world of perpetual sunlight (which would suck)?
Nope, no lighting or weather changes, unfortunately.

I thinks its awesome to drive on that track for 24hours. The question is though what car to chose. And it's a pitty the weather and lighting doesn't changes. (Like the game Le Mans 24 Hours)

I havent been able to find a working link to the c9 vid,, could some PLEASE hot it again? i wanna see!!!

thanks in advance.
It's in the GT4 video's section of this site on page 3.

i read somehwere of a download possibility across the network so does anyone think that there will be a possibility of there being an add-on in the form of the whole nurburgring where it starts on the GP track, 1.9 laps of that then unleash round "the ring"

that would be soo cool!!

The short answer is a "no." The new PS2s have no space for a HDD, thus they do not support it. There would be no reason for them to provide downloadable content for this game, when Sony wants to push their "new" PS2, this would clearly go against that, as everyone would want to keep their "old" PS2s so they could download the content.

What about the sauber vid, is there a vid of the whole lap, or just the first half?

I really wantto watch the whole thing, thanks guys in advance

oh, and does anyone have a high quality version of it?

I have the Japanese GT4 game, and i did yesterday a personnal record at 5"44'332 on S16 : nurburoring, and i found out that this video is nothing but "the advised run" for gold medal of this track.....and after spending hours to compare this video to my replay,i can't figure out how to make a such proper and regular run.....so i guess, this is an automatic one generated by the programmers' team of the game....

By the way if anyone did an amazing record, pls let me know,i'd like to beat it,thx!!!!!

Not sure how much longer this will be up for but here it is for the time being..

Sauber Video

NOTE: Would be nice if maybe Jordan or someone on the GTP crew could upload this file to the Video setion here at GTP...<Cough-Cough> :)

EDIT This is 1 FULL LAP by the way!

How much MB is it?

I hope not as much as the BMW 1 nurburgring full lap video (440MB!!!)

First of all, hi everyone :) I'm a long time reader, first time poster heh. Be gentle :)

Anyway, what I think GT_Fan2005 was referring to was that it would be cool if the Nurburgring course consisted of Nordschleife and Sudschleife. The current Nurburgring F1 Grand Prix track is contained within the original confines of the extinct Sudschleife (although a lot of it is still around, most of it is used as local two-way roads). I think he was saying it'd be nice if they also had a "Nurburgring Nordschleife + Sudschleife" course heh.

I'd imagine it'd add another couple of minutes to the lap times :D

I for one always wish they'd release a game that had multiple versions of Nurburgring. Maybe:

Nurburgring Nordschleife
Nurburgring Sudschleife
Nurburgring F1 Grand Prix
Nurburgring Nordschleife + Sudschleife
Nurburgring Nordschleife + Sudschleife + F1 Grand Prix (heh heh heh)

Now THAT would be awesome :)

As for the original question... I seriously doubt we'll see any sort of downloadable data for GT4. Maybe the next installment.

Thats a good idea. I read on an other thread or this one that it takes 40 minutes to do 1 full lap with a Ford Model T so imagine doing that Nurburgring Nordschleife + Sudschleife + F1 Grand Prix with that model T :dunce:

I'm not too sure whether I would have the patience to do Nurburgring with the Model T heh.

I'm seriously contemplating whether getting the Model T is enough incentive to get all gold. I mean, getting gold is a lot of work... 80 license tests, all gold... for a crappy Model T :)

What about the original Le Mans track. That thing dwarves the Nurburgring. This track was back in 1906 and its length was 103.1km yes 103.1 kilometres! with the straight of Bouloire measuring in at about 20km. Now that would be an exciting track.
come on a 20km straignt, thats 2 laps of the test course.

don't beleive me:

http://www.racingcircuits.net/France/LeMans06.html

I think you're giving the map a little too much artistic license heh... Just because it looks like a straight line from St Calais to Bouloire doesn't mean it's completely straight :P

And Nurburgring isn't the king simply because of it's length. If length were the only prerequisite, then Paris-Dakar-Paris (Paris to Dakar and then return using an alternate route) would probably take the cake.

Nurburgring is 20kms of pure torture; Altitude varies by more than 300m, it has constant blind crests and sweeping turns feeding into even more sweeping turns. Not only has it been used as a benchmark for every pedigree performance car worth it's salt, but it's still intact today and for a small fee per lap, you can still take anything from a scooter to a 959 out on the course and do whatever speed you want (waive the insurance though :D)

What the Isle of Man is to motorcycles, Nurburgring is to cars. It's gruelling and takes a special sort of madness to race :sly:

Le Mans may have been long, but it was never as physically and mentally demanding as Nurburgring. If I truly wanted to challenge myself, I would rather do 24 hours of Nurburgring than 24 hours of Le Man's 106km course. In fact, I would rather do 24 hours of the Isle of Man circuit (38 miles, 220 turns) before Le Mans too:

hey you got to admit that the original Le mans track looks like a bit of fun, especially that straight!

not many corners though, i have a felling that i would get bored of it quickly!

PS that striaght is almost 2/3 of the length, and you say its 20 km? 3 x 20 = 60 , somethings not right here!

PS if you drive 350 km/h 20 km will be over in about 3 minutes or less

That's impossible : the Sudschleife had been already abandoned when the GP track was built and it doesn't exist anymore. Anyhow , it went around the area where the GP track now stands. Check www.gdecarli.it or
http://www.racingcircuits.net
to see a sudschleife map.
I would rather have liked the track from the '60s , as it is in GrandPrixLegends,
