Yes, but I've written to Dave_George concerning my inability to verify my tire choice. Fore sure my car was outfitted with N2 tires when I ran 8'54 with two off-track excursions, and while I have not changed tires since I ran a much, much faster lap - got suspicious - and found that I was now setup on S2 tires. I don't know when the switch happened, on what run.

All I can say is that I ran 8'47, came back to the console later and immediately smashed the time ... it was at this point that I felt my settings were wrong, checked them and found them to be in error.

It's possible that the submitted time is also wrong, so I've written to DG and asked him to dismiss it if he wishes.

Did you save your replay? If so the beginning of the replay shows what tire was used. :p

I overwrote the replay with the faster time .... which was definitively illegal. Heck, I don't know *when* the tires reverted to S2, because I didn't do it, so the time before that could've been illegal for all I know. Better to just pull the time ... it's only a warm up, anyway, so it's better to be safe than sorry.

Right everyone please take note of the situation which Natalya has had discovered regarding tyres reverting back to S2 (Default tyre choice) and double check your replays to make sure that your submitted times are legal.

As this is warm up week im not expecting replays from everyone and theres not going to be any points for this weeks session, but when week 1 starts i would expect that perhaps the top 5 submit a replay with their time, i will decide the final details of this.

cheers all

David

Are the replay verifications needed in the future? Cause I don't got anything to record with. :indiff:

Its a difficult one this, obviously your splits are very good and as such you may expect to finish high.

Based on this it may also be expected by me that you provide evidence of the clean laptime for verification, and it may also be expected by others that you might post replays to see where time can be gained etc.

I have no reason to believe that anyone of you will cheat in this series, Natalya's problem with tyres has shown that a jump from N to S tyres is very noticeable and we can see if suddenly someone makes a ridiculous jump in time something may be wrong.....

I would like to hear others opinions on replays, they are required if asked for in the WRS and other series....

The concept of this for me was to create something that would enable myself and others to learn the Ring in a controlled and logical (power stepping up each week along with additional mods to suspension etc etc) way and thus gain a much deeper understanding of the Nurburgring and car set up options, as a result of this i think replays are vital to the series.

I managed to get my MAXDRIVE for 9.99GBP from play.com so they dont represent a big outlay.

My official stance on this is that im not going to stop someone racing who cant verify and order them to get a replay device! BUT, if they are finishing near the top each week i think it should be seen to be expected that a replay is a fair thing to ask for. I would buy the maxdrive 👍

Let me know what you think 👍

Working on a sunday with 3 hours sleep and a hangover Dave? I bet it's like a scene from Sean of the dead

Anyway, I just looked up and saw the tyre issue, I asked on page 1 if zoxxy (I think it was him) was running on the comfort tyres because I accidently ran on default tyres myself and had some very nice sectors from them, I had a 8'48 T10 and just knew something wasn't right.
'll submit my time later when I double check it's all clean 👍

Yeah Sean of the Dead sounds about right

Again about the tyres your experience also serves as a reason for ALL to check they are running on the N2s.....and it also serves as good reason for the posting of replays 👍

A very tired Dave

I don't think I've ever had a car setup switch to default settings before, so I naturally assumed I was still on N2's when I re-ran yesterday; I don't know what the cause would be for settings to change like that with no human interaction.

As far as replays, I think that anyone who runs beyond their apparent skill level or sets a swift time should be prepared to back it up with a replay. While I agree that you want to keep things 'fun' and 'relaxed', it should also be your right to ask for a replay off anyone - and they shouldn't take umbrance (sp?) with it.

No time submission from my side :/ I had best T10 - 8.57.220 but i lost that lap on last before last turn and im mad at myself :/
See you guys on next combo :/

Hi all,

Had 9 submissions so far, keep em coming 👍

@Villain stick a time in any will do! :)

Nat ive never had a car revert to standard tyres although i have had one revert to standard suspension which is well annoying when you spend time changing things :grumpy: (thats after a gamesave too....)

EDIT* Im going to post the results for this monday everyone, been doing college work all evening and my brains fried, need to sleep now.

I'm going to have to wait until wk 1 I think to post times, as my internet at the new apartment/flat I moved into is down and I can never seem to remember bringing the t-times w/me to work in order to post them up for all to see.

Then again, after seeing everyone's times, no one has anything to fear from me....for the moment! :D

Hi SRD,

You can submit anytime upto sunday evening 11pm GMT+1.

The Spitfire hits 111MPH before its limiter cuts in and drops you a few mph, im hitting the limiter in 3 places, once in T2 and once in T3, then after the bridge on the back straight, for the section in T2 to get right up to the limiter means taking the flugplatz correctly....which isnt that difficult in this car as it is taken comepltely flat out 👍

Bart (onlyme) has kindly provided us with a leaderboard (see sig) so you can see where you may be quicker/slower than everyone, but dont worry about your time! iTs actively encouraged that people may post replays when the results are announced.....unlike the WRS this means if you take the time to view them you can see where you are losing time and then better yourself for the current weeks time 👍

Dave

Thanks for the info! I'll check out the leaderboard and see where I'm losing speed/time at! Damn, this is a load of fun though! 👍

zoxxy
Try to avoid hitting the limiter! Tap the gas and keep yourself at about 177/178 km/h, and you'll earn seconds. :D

Ok! Sounds like a plan, as I had tried doing that before but thought it wasn't worth it, seeing as the car wasn't losing speed as it started to redline!

Much appreciate the follow-up! 👍 x2

It is possible that the tyres could have changed either by the tyre choice being accidentally clicked on and then clicked off in the red toolbox settings screen, which would require Nat to actually do it, alternatively, if Nat had fitted some new alloys to the car, the tyre choice may have changed there, but again, there would have been a popup stating that tyres had changed, which Nat would have had to have missed.

So, either youre blind Nat, or you can sleep-play GT. Which lets face it, is a talent!

:irked:👍

Or maybe by going into the settings tool box to change TCS/ASM settings and inadvertently clicking on say set-up "B" which would have the original tire settings....but then you would've had the original exhaust and less HP too?

Well both possibilities are valid, and under most circumstances (like the WRS) I would think it likely, but with the spifire - due to the lack of options - there was no reason to go to the setup screen. The only time I did was when it was first purchased, to validate tires and remove aids, but under no cirumstance did I change the A/B/C settings ... again, with this car and it's single exhaust upgrade, there was simply no point in dinking around in there ... so I didn't.

I like the Alloy possibility, but for the warm up race this is something that I actually didn't do ... I'm running stock.

it really is the damnedest thing, because I know I ran on N2's for sure and then suddenly I'm not. I'll go with the "sleep driving" option :p
