I would be more comfortable if that was in the questionable thread, thank you very much.

I mean, it is odd but, eugh, that look is, so bad, that I might go blind.

EDIT: Posting here because unsure. Yay or nay?

I personally like it, but if I posted as tasteful, I'd get judged, hard.

Definite nay IMO. Just looks tacky and generally weird, almost like it's unfinished. Don't get me wrong I love wide arches, but that's just over the top. Was never a fan on the SLK to begin with though

That's not odd. That's just tasteless.

Well it can be, and too me it does look odd, and was distasteful anyway. And at the end of the day it's subjective anyhow.

It doesn't really fit with the rest of the thread though does it.

It's not even far off a factory effort either.

Well perhaps not, but at the end of the day who am I to judge another one's taste in cars. At the end of the day it doesn't matter whether you or I find something tasteful or distasteful in this thread, as this thread is for "Odd Modifications". And that can cover both bases. Just how others may find cars posted in the tasteful thread distasteful or weird etc...

Thats why the SLK that @LivingWithGames posted straddles the barrier between tasteful/distasteful and staright up odd (as he points out) depending on how you see it. But does that matter in the grand scheme of things in this thread? Personally I don't think so.

In fairness you're not wrong. However the factory effort is better IMO. Just right without being too OTT (not that it matters since I don't like the SLK anyway).

Yes, this is most definitely tasteful.

... that's what I'm saying though. Because something isn't considered tasteful, doesn't mean its an odd modification at all. Maybe it doesn't even need to be posted in general.

I know, hence why I thought I'd reitorate and expand on the point. But what I'm trying to say is that to me the car looks odd, regardless of whether I think it's distasteful. But that's just me I guess .

Also, maybe you're right about it not being posted it all, would save us from even discussing this I suppose  (not that it's an issue of course 👍)

Is it odd because its a Corolla being used for drifting? The fact that its using a extremely beefed up version of the inline-4? I'm not seeing what is odd.

It's not like it's his first FWD based drift car though. I'd say Daigo Saito's Corvette build is more odd, mainly because it is a former Super GT car.

I love it because it's soo different. Some may say "why in the world would you want 1000HP in an everyday hatchback?" and then there's those who would say "why not make a boring car into something crazy and unique?" I'm one of those people who think it's crazy and unique.

I think it's brilliantly crazy, love it.

Reminds me of the other bonkers creation Papadakis racing came up with a few years ago, when they came up with that made RWD 900hp V8 VW Passat for Tanner Foust.

250k for a car that doesn't run? There's no driveshaft and the turbos & intercoolers aren't even piped to the engine...
Doesn't look like the steering is hooked up either:

I was thinking they removed the driveshaft and steering to move it in and out of the showroom.
I didn't notice the turbos not connected.
I did some research, the car was shown at SEMA 2015 it was not running was to be completed in 2016 and the turbos were mounted to the front frame just below the headlights. But no info on it being completed and running.
