I managed the first two bronze with a bit of practice but I found Suzuka impossible. I left it for a few months and decided to come back to it the other day and managed to get bronze after a few tries! I was pretty happy with that. I used a controller for this, as I found the DFGT harder. :scared:

I have no idea how anyone can get gold on this myself, bronze was hard enough.

I thought that bronze was going to be easy. And it was with my DS3. It helps that I had an X2010 for months before I unlocked the Vettel challenge. :)

Same story here only I knew the difficulty through everyone's suffering being mentioned.

The settings I used...
TCS Off
SRF On
Active Steering Off
ASM Off
ABS Off
Steering Sensitivity 7.

Even then it took me around 30 minutes to bronze Nurburgring and 40 mins to do Suzuka. Monza wasn't anywhere near as bad, did that in about 5 mins.

The best advice I can give you? Don't use ANY aids other than the stopping force one. Turn that on. Also, I set the ABS to 10 and traction control off.

Bronzing, with the new times, should be relatively easy. Just turn two laps with any sense of urgency (and don't DQ it) and you should get bronze.

Here's my gold medal run videos (with a turn-by-turn "breakdown"). Hope they help.

 They look immensely helpful! Inspired me to go back to these! 👍

If it helps to know; There are 3 variants of the X2010. The Sebasten Vettel, Plain Colour and Carbon Fibre. For some reason the Vettel variant is slightly more powerful than the other two.

My point is that you only have to bronze the event to get the Sebasten Vettel X2010. Golding everything is not essential

my prototype when new with oil change had 1556 BHP. the other two have 100BHP less

On my first time it took me about 15 minutes to bronze both Nurburgring and Monza combined, and almost 30 minutes alone for Suzuka. I did it a second time for a friend because he wanted a Red Bull X2010 and I did it in under 10 minutes total. I used steering sensitivity 5 and everything else off except ABS 1.

Increasing steering sensitivity is vital though. 5 is what I use but if you can get used to 6 or 7, do it.

First laps of each track got me bronze very comfortably. Could probably get silver pretty easy and gold would just be a nightmare, but I can't stand driving this car, it's just no fun.:(

Would also add it was post-patch, with no aids including SRF but I did have ABS on.

It is hard but when you finally get one even bronze, you will never smile or be so relieved as much as when yo pass Suzuka and finally pick up your X1.

Just thank PD for patching the time, would still be doing it otherwise, Nurb I completed exactly on the bronze time after hours of trying

Monza on 2nd attempt. Suzuka is hard, amount of perfect 1st laps I done to mess up on the 2nd was so frustrating. 1st was always calm 2nd lap used to just think dont touch any edges don't touch any edge's.

Ha. :) I wish I could "re-track" these. Didn't do a great job describing them, but...

The Suzuka one I did at like 4:30 in the morning. Had been grinding away on Suzuka for hours on end. Heart was racing when I finally got gold to complete the series.

It's an intense challenge for sure...and I feel bad for those who have had to do it with a controller.

It is an insanely hard challenge. For me its just impossible with the pad. Damn, it took me five goes before i noticed that YOU are in control coming out the pitlane at Monza (the first i did) :dunce:
Anyway, i stopped using my ds3, and broke out a dfgt... what the *bleep* is the ffb all about? I disconnected the power cable from it, and in ONE go, had gold! Shocked me so much!

Just golded the last one, Nurburgring (left it till last because its so easy once you've done Suzuka), did a 1:03.6 first lap, then cocked up the second lap and missed out by 0.023, then straight away did a 1:04.4xx first lap and a 1:03.5xx second lap and.....GOLD!!! So happy!!

THIS "CHALLENGE" IS UTTER GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been playing the series since the first one, and I consider myself a descent player, but this "challenge" is downright impossible! I'm lucky if I can just finish a lap without the car leaving the track! I don't have a wheel, and don't plan on getting one. Since the stupid psn is down, I've been looking over some of the stuff I've skipped. Lo and behold I try this this terrible part of the game again. I forgot how much of a joke it is! PD, just open up high-dollar car trading so I can get gifted one of these pieces of junk already! It's not even worth glitching for (then again, non of those $20M cars are). I really hate this part of the game.
Alright, I feel better. Good luck to all those who waste your life on this. I sure wish I could get that time back.

I'm with you. It seems like PD is trying to get us to buy wheels?? :indiff: It is nothing like I have ever seen before in GT, and shouldn't be there. I just got the bronze medals to get the car (which I barely drive as it ruins my feel for all other cars). They were a good challenge, but I will not consider trying to get anything above that. By all means, kudos for all of you ninjas that have been able to triple gold, but I don't fancy sinking that much time into the challenge.

Seriously. I still don't understand the whole challenge. You might as well be required to press some code button combination into the pad in the time frame (Contra, anyone?). By the time you perfect every single turn, it winds up being a code anyway. Good grief. I would like to be able to delete this challenge from my disc (and my memory).

I remember in a discussion, I came on and called everyone n00bs because I silver every event/challenge from first try using the DS3 and thought X1 wasn't going to be much harder.

Guess what? I was right :D. Nah, kidding. It was a frightening experience at first, when I drove the car but I got used to it from like the 5th try and got bronze. Didn't bother to try again, as I was done with the game already (I accidentally got to level 30 when I was trying out a seasonal event so I thought I'd give X1 a try).

I'm too stubborn to give up. Plus this is my ticket to get the 20,000,000 cars quicker. As the only challange I really care about is the racing.

As a kid, yea, it would have been no big deal, but now. Time is scarce.

I managed to bronze all three challenges with a DFGT in about 30 minutes and now this is the last three golds left for me to get the "All Golds" trophy :scared:. Not looking forward to the next few days...or weeks for that matter

I so damn hate Suzuka with the X2010. Suzuka used to be one of my fav tracks but now it isn't anymore :nervous:

I use a Porsche 911 Turbo S wheel and somehow golded Nürburg and Monza but for Suzuka I can't just get it.

It is so damn hard to drive 2 perfect laps, 1 perfect lap would be ok, but why 2? Not even the best drivers in the world have to drive their F1 cars for 2 perfect laps in a row at any event.
I am so pissed because my record on 1st lap is on 1:04.9xx so my speed is more than enough but I am not steady enough to finish 2nd lap. I am always too nervous and loose the car somewhere. One time I got a 1:05.099 in 1st lap and overtook the ghost on the straight before the chicane so I drove carefully through the chicane. The result was that I was too slow and lost it in that damn chicane ending up with 2:10.165 :dunce:

But I won't give up that bloody event stops me from Platin Trophy so I will get it no matter what and then I will sell my goddamn wheel. Thanks PD for so much frustration and lost time :grumpy:

The event existed because it's not possible to be completed. I saw many guys got golds in this challenge even without steering wheels. It's all about pure skill (and a little luck maybe).

By the way..should I turn off ABS for this challenge?

I highly recommend turning off the ghost car. Then you watch the track ahead of you and not the ghost car.

Completely agree, i've golded them all with it turned off, all about concentration, and when the ghost is on, you consentrate on that.

I just bronzed the Vettel Challenge this morning since PSN is down. Still, feels like I'm light years away from Silver. It's definitely hard, but I just slowed down a bit more for every corner than needed.

I sooooooooo want this car .... but after literally hours of trying I am no closer ........ "sad face" ........... handles like a slot car!!

Thanks! That helped me get my first silver (on monza, just 0.14[something] away from gold...)

I'll try again tomorrow when I haven't had 6 beers ;)

Finally golded monza. I found it helped to have the ghost on most of the time.
2:03.441 :)

I've been able to bronze them all. I probably could've golded the Suzuka race if I'd gone and done it directly after I finished the Suzuka 1000km race, but I didn't. I figure i'll need to put in at least a half hour straight on each track in practice mode before golding the challenge.

The Alfa at Eiger, that's a different story, as I've worked for HOURS trying to get better than bronze, and I just can't do it with my DFGT. After watching a few videos of how to do it, I think I may have to revert back to the DS3 as I can drift/slide using that much better than I can with the wheel.

I tried after the suzuka endurance (used an X210 there to practice for the vettel ch.) but my best lap in the endurance was 5 secs slower than my best lap in the challenge... Stuck with bronze for now.

I golded the Alfa one today though, after 3 hours... My settings: set (in the gt5 options menu) steering wheel to "amateur" mode, "power steering" on
and in the challenge menu set steering assist to mild, traction control to 7, abs to 1 and don't slide - but focus on corner exit speed. If you have to slide, slide in, but not out of the corner.
