Oil change annoying ?

I dont like it. It takes too long. If it wasn't for power lost, I'd never go back.

The oil change animations are a waste of resources that could have been put to better use elsewhere in the game. They are'nt even realistic. They waste time. PD should have paid someone to test this game before they released it. They could have found out how un-intuitive the game was, where there were bugs and what players really wanted. This could easily have been the best GT game in the series. GT4-HD+Physics. Sounds like a good name. :tup:That way, we all could be enjoying the game more often instead of being on this website complaining about all of the wack aspects of GT5.That would be niiice.:)

What I hate most is that with hundreds of cars it takes a LONG time to get into each one and go check/change the oil... this leads me to finding out my oil has been cruddy for quite a while before I happen to pop into GT auto at some point... at the very LEAST they need to include oil wear in the garage view of cars and maybe even sort by oil wear so you can get an oil change day in once in a while or better yet just make oil changing a push button affair direct from the garage with no time wasting animation...

I like the idea that your power is determined in part by how clean your oil is, but the trade off in terms of how much time gets invested is not a good one...

It is quite annoying to go through all the loading and select screens to start a race only to see the oil light is on. Then quit the race, go through the loading/animation for oil changing, then load the race back up.

Excellent design. :dunce:

I might be in a minority when I say I don't mind the oilchanges at all, still chuckle a bit when I hear the "bloop bloop bloop" noises.
The time it takes doesn't bother me either, by which I mean the actual oilchange itself, the time it takes to load GT-Auto is a bit too long though and might explain why some people complain about the oilchange time.

About the frequency, I just more or less automatically change the oil every 200 kilometers (about 120 miles), this might be on the safe side (every 300 kilometers or 180 miles or even a bit more would probably suffice as a few endurance races later proved) and I tend to keep an eye on the mileage whenever I choose a car to drive or when I've done a race or free run.

If you're going to do multiple oilchanges on several cars shortly after each other I can see it becoming tiresome, I however tend to drive a single car for many miles and then give it an oilchange (if it reached another 200 or so kilometers that is) before changing it for another.
That might be considered anal perhaps by some (although I do it instinctly or automatically), to me it adds a bit of a 'Tamagotchi' flavour to the game. ;)

Even worse if you are in an online lobby...
