I don't get how to tune for indy.
I am rather successful at ssrx.
But I know there is a SLIGHT difference.
I want the 110% out of my cars.

Can anyone help me out?

What is good for indy, but bad for ssrx?

What I do is, use the same suspension and shorten up the trans so I top out right under the bridge. I don't know if that's what you are looking for:)

Ok this was my Indy setup.

This was my SSRX setup.

I'm sure by not adjusting anything between tracks I am losing some time. I could spend more time adjusting but I find it more convenient to just switch trans. If you switch between SSRX and Indy alot.

I would also like to state, by theory. Setting up for Indy compared to SSRX should give you a faster 0-60 and 0-100 times because you are topping out faster, but a slower 1/4 time, because you top out sooner.

The same theory should work with running a SSRX tune at Indy. You would be slower because you top out later.

Like I said, I am lazy when it comes to tuning:grumpy: I'm sure someone has a better setup for Indy and SSRX and can give a better example, I hope.

My results are off I'm sure. But you can see the time difference in the 1/4.

Yeah. I get it then. I just thought there, was more to it than a,shorter trans.

I don't get why people setup and drag a "1/4 mile" indy then, if they don't actually use a 1/4 mile lol.

Edit: looks like I have been using the, wrong gtr lol. I have two specVs, only used one because of the ssrx time compared to the other. however, my other one is a,rocket off the, line.

I hate this phone,,adds random commas

The way I do it is that I tune for a faster 0-100 and what happens is that on SSRX I top out just after the 300 mark, some cars differ but thats how I do it and that first gear plays a roll.

I heard someone say once that on FWD rear toe is not needed for Indy, not sure about that, but can somebody shed some light on this???

by theory id agree with you, but the problem is just shortening up an ssrx trans by increasing final gear unevens the gears so they then create more shift lag causing your 0-60 and 0-100 times to be slower. this is why, it is nice to learn to tune in the metric system and use the 400m, although the problem is physics are still slightly off.

You are right. But I do not use the final to lower top speed, I used to raise the final but I learned from that. Like I said I'm lazy. All I do is flip the trans at a different number. I have noticed that it requires a little more weight at Indy though. I'm sure a few tweaks to the trans and susp could deal with that. It just drives me crazy trying to get every last thousandth of a second.

Also this is with a FF so things can be different.

every car has its different soul, you find it and you'll have one of a kind tune, there's a compilation of elements that you can see while running your car that it will guide you to that car soul, the car will teach you how to tune it...
