OMG GT 5 Needs this feature! Adjustable Cockpit FOV!

I can remember several discussions regarding the cockpit view in GT 5 and the cockpit view in Forza 3. Not surprisingly everyone had their own preferences but Everyone agreed that there should be an option to change your FOV to whatever you want.

Well take a look.....

This feature seriously needs to be added to GT 5 ASAP. With one set FOV there will always be tons of people complaining but with an adjustable FOV everyone's happy.:)

Don't think it's necessary because you're not sitting in the real car. As long you don't feel unconfortable while driving it's not necessary. Add other features to it than that.

Well it's a trade off.

If you sit closer then you see less of the cockpit but more of the road.
If you sit further you see more of the cockpit but less of the road.

There's nothing wrong with either of them, I'm only saying that people should be given a choice. That way everyone's happy:tup:
 
I find the FOV in GT5P perfect, dont really needs this personally, but yeah, would be a good option of course.
 
Yeah, cockpit view needs this. As is, it's nothing like the view I get while driving a real car which inlcudes the seeing out the sides.

Having done a lot of flight simming in LOMAC, I can say adjustable field of view was one of the most important things in that game (though GT doesn't require you to look at radar and fuel gauges, I'd want a wide view when I'm racing in a tight pack of cars, and a focused view when I'm leading or trailing)
 
The normal view seems awfully limited, almost like wearing blinders. The Adjusted view(similar to GT) seems to give a wider view. Options are great but I wouldnt use that upclose(Normal) viewpoint

To me it seems like the bottom picture you can see more of the road and cockpit
 
I wouldn't mind if it was included but I like the view as it is in GT5p.
 
wow i like the second view a lot. that's how it should be. you really see the car from the perspective of the driver's head
 
The adjusted view looks like GT5 Prologue to me not the first picture!

Well, take a look again. In the first pic the windshield is huge. In the 3nd pic the windshield is much smaller but you get to see more of the cockpit.

I can completely understand why some people who preffer the first view and others would prefer the 2nd view.

The point is that options are GOOD:tup:
 
That option its already in GTR Evo and Rfactor, they call "seat adjust", plus you can hide the wheel, and yes, GT5 needs that.
 
These should be included... theres alot of disagreement with the cockpit view, because of the fact that people with wheels dont want to see another wheel in the car... so people could use the top view for that, and people with controller that dont mind could use the second view...

this should be added and there is no complication in adding this feature.
 
A free camera would be a good ad.
 
nice graphics on that screen shot - probably the best pics i've seen of Forza 3 so far.
 
I wouldnt mind the feature. Not everyone is the same height or sits the same way in a car.
 
Wow, I really like that view on the bottom pic. It gives more of a purpose and ease of use for the side and rear view mirrors. I don't know what you mean by seeing less of the road though. To me, it gives me a better depth and perspective of driving in cockpit view similar to real life. The top pic obviously doesn't do that.

Adjusting the cam should be something that it isn't too complicated to implement, so perhaps there's a good chance GT will too.

Also, if they end up pulling off the head-tracking feature, it'll be an immense experience.
 
It would be a good addition,
but I like the cockpit view in GT5p..
don't want gt5 delayed to add this feature.

That's nice! But I'm pretty satisfied with the cockpit view already in GT5P. It's a nice feature to have for the other people though.
 
oh yeah. adjustable field of view is necessary for anybody who isn't 100% in love with the default cockpit view.
which is probably half the people using bumper view, like I do.

if I had my way, I'd probably float my head over the center armrest.

TDU did an excellent job with this. You could actually adjust your seat in ANY direction for the perfect location. 💡

No he's right, in the second view you get to see a lot more of both the road and the cockpit. In the first view you're zoomed in on the windshield, which might make things in the distance clearer. But in the second view you gain extra width in your view, both to the right and to the left, making it easier to spot other cars and I imagine helps to nail apexes. Unless your television is small or you're sitting far away, the second view definately gives a better view of the road.
 
Keep in mind you can also see cars in your mirrors easier too. Side mirror and rear view mirror are more visible.
 
The full view of the wind shield would be adventitious to me. Since the reason I use the roof camera is because of the fact that the cockpit view is TOO limited. HOWEVER:

When someone wants to use three monitors with GT5, what happens to the view?
 
Be a good feature, but i won't be sad if it's not there, its just a plus
 
Such a option would be great, but GT5P's cockpit view is good as it is for me.

I didn't know FM3 let you adjust your seat position! My biggest complaint with that game is gone now.
 
Since PD has modeled the full cockpit, it isn't hard to imagine that could also incorporate this feature.
This is one of those things like the thermostat that everybody has a different liking, always wanting to change. :)
 
options are never a bad thing, if GT5 allows us to adjust out seating position then that's a plus. Personally I don't have any issues with the view as it is in GT5, but I'm not everyone and I know some prefer it closer so there's little reason not to give them the choice imo.
