OMG GT 5 Needs this feature! Adjustable Cockpit FOV!

what i find more annoying is in some cars the dash is so DARK, or glare makes it so hard to read the dash.

either tweak it so its more readable for some cars,
would prefer if we had the option to turn lights on the dash on/off.

In the bottom picture the guy is stretching to grab the wheel, or he has no elbows. Both views are sub GT5's par.

Such a option would be great, but GT5P's cockpit view is good as it is for me.

I agree. The GT5P/GT5 view is near perfect. My only complaint is that it appears to be the view of someone who is around 5'6" tall and whose eye level is a couple of inches above the wheel. I'm 5'11". Therefore instead of pulling the chair forward or backward I would like to adjust the chair up and down.

GT5 really just needs an option to remove the steering wheel. IMO the point of view is just right but it would be nice not to have to see the steering wheel.

I have never had a significant problem with FOV before, but given the option, I definitely like to be able to change it. Even in the same game I might want to sit forward for hot laps less road cutoff by the dash) but back more for races (more peripheral vision).

The ultimate FOV would be 180 degrees, just like your eyes in real life.

The more FOV, the more sense of speed you´ll get.

The best would be if the PS3 could handle 3 screens or maybe even 5 to get a real sense of speed.

Yeah but to get 180 degrees to look right you would need either really wide wraparound screens or fisheye.

Not really.

All you need is at least 3 screens to get near 180 degrees and a game that can show each image correctly..

5 screens would the best. I´ll se if i can find the video of a guy driving GT Legends with it.. Adds so much to the realism that it´s crazy.

Well yeah that's what I meant basically by really wide warparound screens, either multipanels or one really wide one, preferably that was curved around your head.

I don't have any complains about the camera position.Got used to it i guess...

I haven´t read the hole posts but this cockpit adjustion in FM3 is not directly implemented from T10... it´s a trick in the (im not sure if it was exactly there) multi screen menu...

after all the efforts PD went into designing such awesome looking cockpits i dont expect them to include this feature.

sure it would be nice. but its no biggie. GT5 does not need this feature. it's not mandatory. there are couple of other things i think GT needs. and adjustable cockpits aint one of them

This is a really great feature, it should definantly be in Gran turismo 5

I like the 2nd view. I believe GT5p is the same view. First view makes me feel like the person is right up agaisnt the steering wheel. I dont have a problem if GT5 has this, but I rather have 2nd view.

No! Keep it like GT5P! It's perfect, don't fix it.

GT5 does not need that feature as the developers themselves actually gave the game the perfect viewing distance already.

There are a lot of features GT5 doesn't need, but that doesn't mean they should be omitted. The more options a game gives it's players the better.

GT5P cockpit view + PSPeye head tracking = no need for this feature

I'm fine with the POV as it is in GT5P. It's a perfect balance between the fisheye backseat view of GRID/DiRT and the dashboard granny cam of FM3. But everybody should be able to customize it to their liking. The right view can make all the difference.

Actually, every view needs to be adjustable. If I could set up the cockpit cam where I wanted it, I might actually like it. I'd also like to adjust the roof and chase cam.

Man those Forza handslook like some robster craws.

Adjustable FOV, im down, but can yuh see yur rear view aright from the closer one?

Yeah i like the way it is too but some cars you can hardly see anything due to humongoid dashes most notably is one of the Alfa Romeo's the Coupe, forgot the model 156 or something, due to cases like that id like an adjustable view.

IMO cockpit view does need to be expanded a bit so you can see the offside corner of the bonnet, its because of this that i always use bumpercam in GT5P (i use bumpercam in 99.9% of car games TBH)

note: i stoped reading after about 6 posts because something really bugged me and im not going to keep reading to see if anyone else was going to point this out.

ok id just like to point this out to the people that say in one view or the other you see more of the cockpit and one more of the road. sorry but in the wider view you see more of both. the fact that your closer to the windshield dosnt mean your seeing more of the road it just means your seeing a magnified portion of the larger picture. therefor seeing less of both cockpit and of road. all your really seeing more of is the sky because the roof of the car is no longer in the way. your actual view of the road doesn't change any in the closer FOV things are only magnified. while in the larger field of view your seeing more of the track because you are no seeing the sides as well as what is directly in front which is all you saw in the closer field of view.

now which one is closer to realife i would say the second one because i know when im driving i can always see my drivers side mirror which you cant see in the windshield cam.

Yeah, we should be able to adjust our view in the cockpit, and it should 'feel' different for different cars.
