No surprise for korean dudes.

There are several reports of people died because playing game continuously in Korea. Try to google it out.

Other thing, gaming is not just a hobby there. People are actually gaming to earn money. Its true.

I am two races away from my platinum trophy, This is one 24 on La sathre and i will reach level 40, that's unlocks last endurance race at Nurburgring. I did not drive those two endurance races all by myself, i have friends who i invited to play with, few of them are guys and two of them are girls. Off course not every friend of mine knows those tracks but hey, this isn't the case, this is not the problem. Main issue is this that he may have much more friends that all you guys have, and he had his platinum so fast because he shares his game with actual friends. Not some dudes from Internet of face book.

So a little appreciation please, do not judge anyone based on some assumption. This could be easily any of you with first platinum in the world in GT5 He is not some looser but obviously a dude with skill, Vettel Challenge must complete in gold, and Loeb challenge also with all licenses. Many of you struggle with those challenges posting new threads allover again calling for help, so who is the looser here? Let's not judge anyone, but try to enjoy GT5, i am 105% sure that with the right time we all finally reach our 100% in GT5 and achieve platinum. This is not the race. 👍

My congrats to the guy. :sly:

Professional gamers that earn money for competing in tournaments is a thing that exists around the world, not just in Korea.

The main difference though is that in Korea, its a much much bigger phenomenon than in the rest of the world.

Its pretty much their national "sport".

Says someone with ~300 posts on a videogame discussion board.

Pot meet kettle.

It takes about 30 seconds to make a post on a discussion board. The person whom you quoted has made only 283 posts in a period of over 6 years.

I fail to see your logic.

The guy with over 200 platinums on the other hand... I think it could be argued that he needs to get out more :p. (Not meant in a harsh way, of course).

That's just crazy...and yet, if I'd had a PS3 when I was 10, the way I felt about cars back then, I could see myself playing all summer long.

On summer nights we'd sit on the front screen porch and play Monopoly. I think Kaz was only a wee lad at the time. :)

I wouldn't want to be his PS3 PSU fan.

Surely by 24hr A and B-spec endurance races alone it needs 26 full 24hrs?

Le Mans 24hr race x 2 x 12days
'ring x 24hr race x 2

Unless they're backing up the save game, sending/passing it to their mate - akin to a relay race baton - and having them do the next "stint".

Sounds pretty hardcore to me.
Do you think they took time off work/school to do it?

When you get paid to game, then it's just not gaming anymore from that point, it becomes something else altogether.

Something worse though.

Theres a guy called Duck_360 add him and check his trophies, he has 210+platinums..

Thats where you sit there and think wow, now that guy has no life!

OMG 210+ :scared:

I have people on my friends list with over 1000 trophies altogether but never seen so many platinums. I have 2 platinums

I really wonder how people have time to get all these, its not like you can get a platinum a day or something even with real easy games (LBP) and definitely not GT5 (24-hour races)

Likewise, I have 1200 trophies alongside with 9 plats, I don't spend a mad amount of time grinding for trophies, I just enjoy a game and focus on the platinum, if i can actually do it. also as this is a thread about the GT5 platinum, i am aiming for it, determinedly. Surely will be the hardest plat i will ever achieve (Hopefully.. 70% trophies at the moment) :p

230 platinums apparently, dude is top of the leaderboard -> http://www.yourgamercards.net/leaderboard/

Indeed! Hence why i put a + symbol next to it, which i knew he'd get more since it was about 5 weeks the last time i saw his profile on the PSN. So 20 platinums in a month!? daayum! :irked:

He admits using his brothers to help him platinum games. Dodgy thing is on the leaderboard that he has some games platinumed twice at different times like PES 2010. Strange...

Anyway I have 0 Gold and Platinum, beat that :sly:.

Or probably has a wife and 17 children, all playing on individual PS3's/TV's on the same PSN account and Duck_360 himself sitting on a couch having a cuppa tea telling them to work harder. Also has a whip to punish them every time they die or fail. :D

LOL. One thing I'm suprised is I'm ahead of pretty much all the top 5 people on leaderboards in GT5 completion. Maybe they care about getting as many trophies as quickly as possible and grinding on A-Spec and B-Spec is not what they had in mind. They probably got a spare PS3 for that.

I might platinum the game before them though, even though they might play the game 24/7 soon but my Bob is doing the same so they don't have that much of an advantage ;).

That´s my psirit, too. Enjoying the games and, if possible and fun, try and go for the platinum. I also like to go through the trophy list and look for funny ones. Just this morning, I got "Who Needs Breakfast?" in LittleBigPlanet2. It´s a very easy one, just enter the game before 9 AM. But what makes it funny is that I say the trophy title at least once a week to my work colleagues.

On topic: I doubt that I will ever get the platinum in GT5 (the GT-R trophy in arcade drives me nuts), but I will continue trying. Currently, I´m at 56%.

 Yeah the LBP2 trophies seems fun, im a big LBP fan.. its on my next 'games to play list'. i have plat LBP1 and it was one of my favourite enjoyable platinums.

Now back on the GT5 topic, i manage to get 7:26:3xx on the Arcade Nurburgring on my FIRST go, but i'm very familiar with the north ring. I've probably done about 2000 laps of it in my life time on different games, So practice can be really useful.

Either way, he's still a loser, I've never seen anyone with that many trophies... O.o

This post made me laugh. Since when are you a loser for receiving a trophy?
Besides playing little league ball where everyone gets a trophy, even the losers.

So many Platinum trophies does not impress me much. But the one in GT5 does. 👍

And for those loosers who call him a looser, i have a little hint :sly:

Call him a looser but the carrot at the end of the stick is good enough.

I know a gamer who is top 5 in the world when it comes to PS3 trophies. There is 2 categories. Overall trophy count and overall point count. He told me that when the big ass conventions come (E3) etc. Sony personally invites them to them. They get them into hotels and their tickets to the conventions, all paid for.

So yeah. Good job to him, but he's never EVER going to catch the top 5.

Pot meet kettle.

You have over 3 posts per day, he has 0.13. Also I'd hate to see what happens when you see some of the people on here with over 1,000 posts.
On topic though, is this platinum trophy impossible for some people. I only get to play GT5 for a couple of hours at a time. Maybe I could stretch this, but in no way could I do the 24 hours enduro without killing my ps3 by having to leave it on for a week or taking a day off college or work for a game!?
Maybe PD should have implemented a working man's platinum ;).

The only challenge for platinum in GT5 is really just the "gold standard" trophy. Other than that, everything is natural progression, and a lot of time that's needed to level up, collect 1,000 cars, etc. The GT-R lap time might be tough for some, but to many, it's do-able. It's not like there are trophies that are based on pure luck (except maybe win by .01 trophy), or would require insane online achievements, or something.

I think a lot of people can platinum the game, but it might only be the people that has a wheel because of the X1 challenge.

229 Platinum Trophies??!!

That is insane!

And as the person above me stated, people were Platinum GT5 before the end of December.

230 now. That is either a team account, of someone who does nothing but eat, sleep, and game.
