could someone tell why most people who run a room on-line have all the driving aids turned off? I don't understand you would want to lost control of your car when the driving aids help the driving of the car...?

It could be that the host doesn't need the driving aids to control the car. Maybe, he/she thinks there are other people online who are just as skilled and wish to race with the aid turned off.

But, I could be wrong.

Seems to me people can drive a car faster without the aids....

Driving without the aids is faster if you know how. The host is looking for skilled drivers who dont need them. If you still need the driving line and skid recovery, you will just get in the way of more experienced drivers who can race clean and fast with no aids.

Because this is a game that only gets better the less amount of aid's used.

Yeah i do it to weed out all the anoying people that punt everyone in there way and cant race worth a poo. most of those guys cant run with out the aids and will either leave right away or quickly become frustrated and leave. What stinks is sometime even thats not eunf. Ive run in to a few people that where really fast and could drive with out the aids, but couldnt race. Those you can weed out with penilties and damage Me if i could i would run full penilties and full damge all the time it forces you to race clean, but youll never fill a room that way

I do really well with the aids on...It is when I cut off "skid recovery" I get in trouble. I had rather have "skid recovery" on than any of them...but I am learning:tup:

Skid Recovery Force basically says you can't drive all that well sorry....The only way you'll get faster is to turn it off and only race with TCS and ABS on, you'll improve quickly if you practice enough.

ok i will practice it that way. what do you set your ABS to? I use 1 and 4 TCS.
I just started playing this game last yr. started with GT4 and completed it and now have, of coruse, GT5. I love the game. I have ran some locally and drag raced and I miss it...

You can't have a "No Aids" room unless All aids can be forced off.

Thats just a stupid sentence by itself.
Real life ABS is probably older than you, and even current GT classified Race Cars and Le Mans Protos have Traction Control since a while.
If you are talking about real life for your "simulator" most street legal cars won`t allow a turned off traction control or ABS, it is always activated.

I for myself started GT5 A-spec mode with ABS 10 TSC 1, when I begun to do online racing I changed TSC to 0.

Look for room descriptions which show how less competitive the races are. The game should also make online racing beginner friendly or those who are just starting to learn to drive on a competitive atmosphere. I make rooms where I change the rules as per race results. call for a vote if 3 or more people have joined.
It would be better for the community if he have these rooms helping people out and not just outright preventing them to join cause of the extreme rulesets that are already set.

Seems to me that the McLaren F1 drives faster without any aids and manual trans to prevent awful wheelspin.

Still I drive with no aids except TCS set to 5.
