Online dealerships ruin cars rareity

Why? The car showing up in the OCD or not doesn't make any difference at all. You still would have spent money buying the car from the UCD. It's not like the OCD makes your past spending worthless. Not to mention, you now get to have two copies of the car to do whatever you want with. One for borrowing, tuning, online, whatever. I just don't get these complaints. This OCD thing has happened to me a few times, I'm glad that I get more cars, at a discount, and without engine wear.

He's saying he's pissed when you wait for months on a rare car than finally it shows up in market place and you buy it all excited. Than the next day it's in the online one for half the price. It's just so annoying. I too think it should go away as it kills a lot of the whole collection aspect of the game, but I'm pretty sure they had to make it due to tons of complaints about having a F1 race and people having to do a million dumb races to get the marketplace to change just so they can buy it. It has helped me a lot tho especially this latest one with 2D and 2J that I have been waiting months for and haven't shown up and now finally bought them and need only 1 I'm pretty sure car more to have them all.

I know what he's talking about. But whether or not the car shows up in the OCD, he won't get his money back.

If he's so upset over losing half the cost of the car, why not wait until the next OCD refresh to buy? Or back up before buying the expensive car.
 
How are you supposed to know that it's coming next OCD? What if the car in the UCD goes away because you like to race and don't want to wait?

Haha thank you typing my answer. You waited months for a car you want to show up than when it does your like hmm too expensive I shall wait for it to be in the online one hopefully sometime this year. Than just pray it's there every single update lol.
 
You never know what's next in OCD, and the UCD car vanishing is all the more reason to just buy it, rather than worry if the car will show up in the OCD later.

Though if you back up your save, you don't have to worry about either thing.
 
Not everyone can back-up their save though.
 
All you need is a PS3 to back up your save. If your PS3 isn't updated, the OCD isn't an issue either.


Create a second account, copy your save, your save is backed up.
 
You can back-up your save with just a PS3? Now I'm confused. This is not something I know of. :confused:
 
Backing up the save is easy just plug a USB in and transfer, but the point is you wait so long and finally buy it and than it shows up in OCD for half the price. It's so annoying. It's same when you buy something than you wanted so bad than next month right after the return policy is void it goes on sale. It's just like wtf

This is precisely what I am trying to say (in fact, come here and give me a hug, shmogt).

Another thing I may add is that it wouldn't be too bad if you were alone in the GT universe. In the end, you still saved up for and looked tirelessly for that car. The pride is still yours. But, add other people, and it begins to suck again. See, you're driving around that expensive, rare, car that can't be won, can't be traded for, and cost you your retirement fund. Say it pops up in the OCD. Now everyone has with a lot less miles for a lot less cost. Did theirs cost them sweat and tears? No. And whose is in better shape? Theirs.

Now, yeah, you can let this get to you, or you can try to ignore it. But I think deep down, it's mildly disappointing to all of us, at the very least. No one likes that feeling.

Then the problem is not the OCD. The problem is that GT5 doesn't allow you to sell the car you got from the UCD so you can use that money to buy the OCD one.

For cheap cars that would work. But it's still a compromise—you still lose money. Selling cars in GT5 gives back a very small percentage of what you shelled out for them.

That's the realism you guys want in a game. You pay for instant gratification, or you wait for a better deal.

If selling a car would not be broken in GT5, you would be able to sell your UCD car for about the price it's listed in OCD (depending on miles on you car), more if you had tuned it.

That CLK in question came up right away in the car dealer for me back before the oline dealer was added and before it was added as a prize car. The fact that it is a prize car now is cool and at least for me it is very easy to win it.

I started a new profile back when they had the Nascar race on the ring in the seasonal events. Took the gamestop Nascar out there won the race then went to the amg school and won the CLK, then used the CLK to win the Minolta, piece of cake.

As for ruining cars by making them available, get real. What good is it to have a car in the game if you can't use it?
 
The cars' rarity was ruined by duping and being able to trade anything, the OCD isn't anywhere near as ruinous, though admittedly it doesn't help. Then again, what does rarity even matter, anyway? All it means to me is that the Ford GT LM I need is annoyingly elusive.

And I still have to imagine that very few people care, considering car rarity was never more than an illusion and is a terrible reason to remove the OCD even if it wasn't all in your mind.

I dont understand why people bother about others having cars, just paint it a beter colour and tune it better. I dont care if someone has the same car as me because 100% of the time i'll prefer mine and 99% of the time my car will have a better tune.
 
Yeah, everyone should only be able to have 1 car, and be allowed to tune it to any PP, 100 - 1000. and that's the only car you get, EVER!!

its a good thing that all of the games content is available to everyone. That's just how it should be.
Just cause you think you have a "rare car" doesn't mean you'll cross the finish line in front of me.
 
The cars themselves should not be unique, I HATE the prize car system. I bought the game same as everyone else....WHY should I be denied content I have PURCHASED.

BUT.....Maybe there could be unique liveries awarded.....so someone would have a a unique livery for their car. That way someone can still buy the base car in the standard livery/colours....but the persons who achieve something within the game have the unique livery to show it. These cars would be exempt from trading too.
 
I wish the OCD would ruin the rarity of the Zonda 7.3 for once. Been waiting for it for ages :(
 
If there was a chance for some cars to be rare,(if PD wanted to)....they would make all the prize cars not tradeable and not available in used car dealership or online dealership.
As long as this limitation doesnt exist (and now it is way to late to add them)
