I wonder if it will only be arcade cars that can be raced on-line, or if cars won/bought in GT mode and tuned will also be allowed. Hopefully the later of those two.

But maybe in the interest of simplicity it will only be arcade cars.

Either way i'll be on-line. Just watch for me at the back of the pack, just having a ball watching you guys race like there's no tommorrow :)

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but i hope you'll be able to check out the opponents car specs. I mean you could be versing what looks like a weak car, but it could be tuned to 600+ horses, and you wouldn't know it. So you would try to match up with his car which is usually weak, and then he would blow you in the dust. So being able to see specs would be good for matchups.

Setting race limits for Bhp, drive train, minimum weight ect would all eliminate one person using a far superior car in a race. Also limiting a few races to one model of car would be a good addition as well, so you could organise an XJ220 cup or Suzuki Escudo cup ect.

All these options are so ****ing easy to do and discussing the idea to implement simple filters and exchange of info is redudent......get some better things to implement besides the obvious

and ye bless BBB :D

Would it help to have a keyboard to plug in teh USB port on you PS2 so as to make it easier when chatting to others. Or woudl you just be expected to have the headset?

I think the keyboard will be the most common one for chat, it's already been confirmed that the headset won't be supported during races, but nothing has been mentioned about pre and post race chat rooms ect.

I watched a report on tv the other day about online gaming in South Korea where there is a new phenomenen they call ''offline player killings'' apparently a guy who had 'killed' an opponent in a role playing game and taken there hard to get weapons got beaten up pretty badly when the guy he killed tracked him down in real life. This is fairly common now apparently in S Korea where online gaming is massive:eek: . So moral of the story dont race Koreans for 'pink slips'

Wow, I'm never playing Counter Strike with any Koreans....That's for sure. ;)

Theres an article in a PC mag about that sort of thing, I'm not sure if it is Korea, but they have these like internet cafe's but network gaming and people have been stabbed for killing another player in the game, it's madness and it's something that really needs to get sorted out.

answer, handgun and kevlar :D
Just make sure it aint a rich korean, that has the cash to hunt you over seas.

I'm an offline guy. Don't mind they throw in some online-racing, but the the main part of the game gotta be offline. :)

i am also a offline guy, i would do alot online if i had broadband

I've heard about the Koreans before as well. What culture takes anything that serious? The soccer event deaths a few years back were crazy as well. It's entertainment - don't take it so serously. People point fingers at Americans for the crazy stuff we do, but we're not killing eachother over the outcome of sporting events or video games.

Sheesh.

there should only be 1 option in this poll and that should be 'online'. wanna know the reason why? because its official that its going to be online

The poll is for what you prefer, not what's going to be included in the game. ;)

I think the majority of users wont be going online, so id rather that they focus on offline content because online stuff brings so many problems with it

this is true, but if the online is dont right, it will carry the popularity and sales of GT4 intill GT5

anyone know the recommended broadband connection for Online gaming. I have got 150kb now, but i might be gettin (my dad has mentioned it) 600k.

The recommended speed is the fastest you can afford, 600k is very good though but imagine if everyone use a minimum of 1mb.
