So you're saying I shouldn't have enjoyed the races I just did? :)

Maybe I'm just easy to pass, and nobody felt the need to go aggressive on me.

Anyway, no worries, I had some good races, sorry you were less fortunate.

yes that exactly what i was saying. :sly:

its all about generalization. one bad race = all bad races. (this is sarcasm by the way and i am only kidding)

haha, anyway, I should get back to "work" - I need to put in some time if I'm going to be anything more than a roadblock for you GTP guys...

Just had an extremely well-fought duel with Vaxen on 750PP Suzuka. I caught his GT LM in my Mine's after 2 laps, and from there we were within half a second the rest of the way. It's too bad he spun in Casio, or it would've been a very, very close finish.

I had a well fought race last night in my BMW 1Concept at the beginner suzuka race, pretty clean until we got to the 130R turn on the second lap, where I was punted but got on the tarmac on the other side of the apex, drove back onto the track with the lead, broke for Casio, and got hit again and turned sideways where I drifted through the first corner, and caught back on the line in the second part to go on to win.

From,
Chris.

Nice stories everyone.

I've only done one online race, I got the game on Friday. The race was on the long Suzuka course. I had my RX8(amazing beginning car) and the opponents had an Rx7, Evo X, and a purple Lotus I think, cant quite remember. It looked like some of them didn't know what a "clean" race is. The Evo X was frustrating me, trying to get me off the road but the other drivers drove really well, I thought they were going to be a bunch of noobs or whatever. This was my first online race and my online win.

EDIT: The mode was "Intermidiate."

This was a couple of weeks ago but it was a good race

Me and Vaxen were practicing for the garage showdown in Viper SRT10s. There was a lone bandit in the race driving an EVO I think.

At the end of the first lap I'm drafting him down the front stretch.

When I get close he hits his brakes and I crash off to the side.

A few corners later I pull off to the side. I'm not going to race a dirty driver. Soon Vaxen stops and turns around. So the hack realizes it's no fun winning when there is no competition turns around and comes joins me and Vaxen.

I don't race, I just sit there.

Eventually me and Vaxen both quit without turning another lap. That's the only non-violent way you can teach these guys a lesson right now, if it's 1 on 1 or something just don't race them. Let them see how lonely it is by themselves. Sadly, this doesn't work in larger races but it was the first time I thought I taught someone a lesson without using car violence.

That is hilarious. I am gonna try that next time.

Had a great race at Suzuka PP600. Me and other GTP's met 5 danish drivers who were
named N4S_. Yours truly led the race until the last lap when I had to give the lead to
Truth123 (DE). Wish I had a replay....

Had three great races with GTP_CudaDude earlier this evening on 600pp fuji. Both races had about 6 drivers total, with only one lame punter who didn't cause me too many problems. In the last 2 of the races we had 3 drivers in Ferrari 512s; myself, CudaDude, and another racer, along with a number of other cars including an Elise IIIr. In the first race Cuda and I came in middle of the pack. Then Cuda switched to a 512 and we took the top spots, me with the gold and Cuda with the silver. The third race I hosed my entry to the straight on the very first lap and thus got very gently tapped coming onto it by Cuda has he tried to squeeze by me. Despite the fact that it was barely a nick (and on my rear) The game gave me the 4-second penalty, causing me to plummet from the lead position to the rear of the pack. But I managed to fight my way all the way back to a silver over the next two laps, allowing Cuda and myself to take the Gold and Silver again, but this time with Cuda getting the gold. All in all some very fine races.

AERO you super-fast bastard!!! 6'54!!! How am I supposed to beat you?!? :sly:

I was takin' it slow too.....

Just Kiddin' Weary! LOL!

I still don't stand a chance against guys like Racer_LP, Truth123 and zabeu. Don't stand a chance against you either during the latter half of Suzuka because that Rex has got stacks of bloody grunt. But you gotta keep up with me in the esses first....

;)

PS: I'm going to up the PP on the R8 to 600 so that I don't keep starting from the front of the grid. Pole position is unfair don't you think?

Pole position is a double-edged sword I think, if you can get through that first corner without being punted it's usually all over from there otherwise fighting back from the depths of the kitty litter is quite frustrating :)

Hehehe, yeah too true, but I'm always into the corner first, only rarely do I get punted and by the time the good guys like yourself battle your way through the field, I've pulled out a three or four second lead. Not easy to make that up over three laps.

It's a real pity that we don't have 5-lap races at Suzuka - it's a test of concentration over that sort of distance and gives the guys who are stuck at the back of the field plenty of chance to move up and start chasing down the leader. To be honest, I'm a long-distance kinda guy, 25-50 laps is my forte and that's a real test of average pace and a supreme test of endurance. These three lap sprints are great fun, but they're no real indication of how quick someone is across a reasonable race distance.

WRX versus R8? I reckon you'd flog me in a longer race...

;)

Battling through the field is really tough work! I don't want to punt anyone in the process but being patient only loses me more time. Longer races would indeed be good fun.

Had one good race today, Suzuka 600pp. After a retarded first lap i found myself in 4th fighting for 3rd with another british guy, with GTP_Stotty in 5th catching us up the whole 2 laps in his viper. We were slow as we were jostling and swappign positions every 5-6 turns.

I got into 3rd on the last lap as the other english bloke overcooked it at Spoon, and i looked set for 3rd until i missed the Apex at the fast left kink and found myself goign massively wide onto the overflow and getting a penalty, just enough time for both close up and force me to concede the fast line and steal 3rd and 4th from me.

Sucked to lose places but at least i had 2 good laps of high pressure racing and only lost places to my mistake as opposed to a retard bumping me. :D

I'm new to GTP and gt5, just wondering which races are the best ?? it's looks as though suzuka 600pp is quite a good one from what i can see.. will have to give it a go.

I have enjoyed all of my races today, and i have had a few! Great race with stotty, Ardius, mr_VOLCANO and many more. 👍

As I said in the PAL meeting thread:

Thanks for the awesome racing, GTP_DONK!!!! Loved every second..till I made my traditional last-lap-screw-up, lol.

Yep, loads more great races tonight - I have a photo of our 1\1000 sec 1-2 finish. L ots of gtp tags about and some good non tagged drivers too. Had a great 3 lap bumper to bumper scrap with speedfreak22, and even managed to re-pass truth123 in one race.

Just had a couple of great races with kain90 again, leading me to adding him to my friends list. Consistent racing and he fairly and expertly overtook me at the end of the first race, lol, I love that more than winning. 2nd race we had a great close finish.

I wonder if Truth knows how popular he has become around here, I know a couple of people have tried contacting him but to no avail. I assume he might not know english, but I do not know any german to direct him perhaps to the GTRP forum. Perhaps someone could do that, that knows german? It would be a shame for drivers like him to be left out when we get private rooms.

He must have some idea as he's showing up in the gtp time slots... 15\30\45\00.

shame he doesn't show his face and say hi... great driver.

Could be that he's a driver who is already known under another name, but wants to race anonymously under this one?
I remember watching a race meeting at Donington Park back in the '70s. A competitor in a formula libre race appeared in the program only as "The Streak". He never took his helmet off in public view, but won the race with astonishing pace.
I got to find out from someone "in the know"; it was one Mr Emerson Fittipaldi.

It's very obvius to me that Thruth is keeping a close eye on this forum, so hi there, mate!!! ;) ..as many many times I've posted a starting time to the pal meeting thread and the truth has been out there!! 👍

..we've had many incredible NSX vs F430 battles!!! ...also worth mentioning that thruth got me interested about the NSX, and now I'm loving it.. :) And by the way, the first race we had NSX vs. NSX, I won it, so I guess a TY is in order: Thanks! ;) I hope that I can someday provide you better competition with it...
