The online has so much potential and needs to have issues addressed pronto. I've had some really enjoyable times online but it was cut short by disconnected from lobby server and other errors :(

Compared to some other online games, Black Ops for example, GT5 online runs pretty smooth for me. I get the occasional hiccup or long black loading screen, but all in all it's a positive experience for me, and fun as hell.

I guess I have been lucky so far the only issue I have had was on the first day it was hard to get connected since then I have not had a problem.

Why does online suck so bad? Why do they let people with low bandwidth host? it's bad!

I don't never see my friends that are online, I get bad host. I get kicked from lobbies. I've seen the host get voted out of there lobby. I can't get nobody in my lobby. It just seems one big mess.

yeah, I seem to get kicked from lobbies a lot, due to the hosts getting picky and rude...just because you don't do what they want you to do exactly to their measures...scum

My favorite is when the host has the lobby set perfectly for their car, and then you come in there but all the cars you have are either too powerful or too underpowered. Or one of my favorites was when the host only allowed Subaru Imprezas and he was using a tuned one and no one else had 1 so everybody else was using stock. He was winning by 25 secs a race.
Or how about when the host just leaves and we're all waiting for the race to start.

The problem in online is i can;t find a decent match with my car. basically here, in america they most driving under 500BHp either to drift or to be feeling professional driving a sports car, i can't find a server like when im using a ferrari 330 p4 and it doesnt match the spec.s online is totally ****ed up

LOL:lol:

We need match making bad. Also, we need official servers, so we can get more racing and less fooling around.
Match making is fine so long as they do not replace what we have with it. Forza tried this and it failed big time. many loyal fans could not get away fast enough. The problem is that without the custom public lobbies no one is in control. The races frankly just are not any good in the hopper system.

Sure you get some lame hosts but in this system you can always start your own lobby and when you do you will get a bunch of lamers but you will get some good racers too and if you run a good lobby the guys that like to race like you do will find you again and again and before long you have a very good lobby with several good guys in it.

Under no circumstances would I want what we have exchanged for a match making system. I don;t know about the rest of you but I like to choose where and how I race as well as who I race rather than just have some server toss me in a room and decide what track how many laps and such.

I agree, I don't want to replace what we have, just add to it. I mean I like match making because I like races where everybody is on equal terms, doesn't really matter to me if we're driving go karts or F1s.

I think one of the things we need most is more options for restrictions. A car level restriction would be nice. A car type restriction, a modified restriction as well as region, year range, model and such all could make for more competive lobbies.

I would like for example to setup a DTM lobby on the Ring. I just love to drive those cars out there :)

Online tip #1

When searching for rooms. Make sure "show full rooms" option is checked. That way you'll be sure yo get in on some good races.

I've cut my time spent online alot because its become a massive waste of time.

The other day I spent 4 hours online but failed to have 1 decent race.

Same problems persist.

- half racecar half road car fields. can easily be fixed by adding racecar or racing modded cars restrictions to the host

- poorly described rooms in lobby. many free run rooms dont say that in the lobby description

- puny credit and XP payout. NOBODY will get lvl 40 at this pace. 7,000 XP is the most I got ever. too bad theres 3,000,000 -7,000,000 XP between each level after 34

This can be easily fixed....
