Gave it half an hour. Other than the look of wet track I'm unimpressed. Is there a way to up the graphics quality from default somehow?

Yea, the visuals are terrible. That may just be the demo (download size and all)

I just played it, with a DFGT I felt the FFB was a little lacking and the car was to easy to save, other than that it was good.

That's the way all these non-GT5 console racing games are, they may have a lot of neat features but the "feel" of driving the car is lacking so much that they are basically unplayable for types like us. GT5 is lacking in a lot of areas but the graphics and physics are great and those are the two most important things, if those two aren't right than the rest of it is pointless. A few months ago a buddy insisted I borrow Dirt3, it felt more like I was moving a mouse cursor than steering a car. I gave it about 20-30 minutes and then removed it from my GT5 machine.

Disappointing. I'll still check it out though, it might be worth renting/buying just to be able to do Turn 1 at Texas. :sly:

I just shut the PS3 down. I can be on at around 10PMish EDT if you still want to run some laps.
 
I'd be up for a few. Haven't run any with the car yet. I think Jeff said he would too, so maybe we could meet in the ORCA lounge?

What tracks did you guys run on last night?
 
We ran a bit at Nurburgring GP/F, and then later a few laps at GVE/R. I was a mess.
 
GP/F was a blast.

Got a chance to try it and it was ok but not up to GT5 standards in terms of feel that's for sure. The track that wasn't Monza was absolutely horrible. What a piece of garbage!!! The guy that designed that should be 🤬 and :censored:ed on. How can you race on that track? It's mostly a couple of long straights and a series of 1st or 2nd gear 90 degree bends. :banghead::irked::mad::yuck: I sure hope PD doesn't waste time or money on tracks like that!!!

Yas Marina Circuit. Never liked the track in F1, don't like it in the game.

The scenery around the track looks beautiful.............

...............but it's terrible for racing. I believe even most of the F1 drivers dislike it.

I'm going to try to get on, need to gather lap times so I can determine the lap counts for the season. Probably some time after 8pm EDT.

I had company stop by so wasn't able to make it last night. I'll be there tonight barring an emergency.
 
^ You missed it, I almost beat Marcus in a 5 lapper at Nurb GP/F. I was right on his tail the whole race, neither of us made any mistakes but I just barely touched the sand going through the Schumacher Esses and that was enough to let him stay ahead of me. I was only .5 seconds behind at the finish. I was proud of myself, Marcus is not an easy man to hang with! :)
