As much as I want to branch out to other games, the physics of GT5 have rendered other games un-playable for me. Not that GT5's physics are the best in the world but they are by far the best on the PS3, every game I've played since just feels like I'm making suggestions to the car and not actually in control of it. For me, the physics have to be right before anything else. There can be bells and whistles galore but if it doesn't "feel" right to drive there is no point. While GT5's options and features leave a lot to be desired, the physics are good enough to (generally) make up for what it's lacking in other areas (IMHO).

But, if the NASCAR game has good physics and offers more than 2 road courses I'd be more than willing to give it a shot even though I'm not a huge fan. 👍

Since I couldn't connect to GT5 for about a week, I had been playing F1 2012. Talk about big differences. It took me all of practice, all of qualifying, and about 7 laps of the race to get adjusted back to GT5.

I understand what you're saying. GT5, I feel has great physics. I played the last need for speed game and was totally garbage compared to this.



Bring on "SPEC 3.0 the final gear!". (Would be great)

When you adjusted to F1 did it ever feel "right"? I know that if you play it enough you will adapt and it will start to feel natural, but GT5 pretty much feels natural right out of the box because it's much closer to the real thing. Being a big F1 fan I would love to play the game but knowing how the physics usually are sub-par I don't even plan to bother with it.

@Ace, I have been considering expanding my video game shelf this christmas (and a new TV finally). I will be starting early and that game is on the list.

That is the deciding factor for me. If it don't do triples. I'll stick with GT5. ;)


Besides NASCAR on GT5 are fun. I'd love to do a season of NASCAR with in ORCA. Maybe a triple threat oval treat in between seasons?

Next season we need a fast fast car. Something that takes race hard or mediums to control. ;)

As far as I know GT5 is the only game on PS3 that supports triple monitors. :(
I also have a bit of a hankering for something faster and different........I have some ideas for the next go-round.

FWIW, when my motorcycle was totaled I used a portion of the insurance money to buy the triple-monitor setup. I figured it was worth replacing something I enjoyed with something else I would enjoy/use just as much. And after reviewing used PS3 prices I realized that even after a year of use I'd probably be able to sell the PS3's and get a good portion of my money back. So it's really not quite as gratuitous as it sounds, and the experience is well worth it. :)

I was going to tack that on, that the unpleasantness over your work probably outweighs the pleasantness of getting paid to watch tv. I say 👍 to you for what you do though, guys/gals like you make a difference.
 
My GT5 setup is very contradictory. I have a G27 which costs a lot of money, yet I'm using a standard definition dinosaur T.V. that weighs a ton :lol:
 
Writing bureau with drawers full of barbell weights for anchorage, and an old 32" 1080i telly makes up my rig. I have 3 wheels, two G25s and a DFGT. One of the G25 models has modified pedals, however for the past 3 months I've exclusively used my other G25, which is stock out of the box. I thought about going to triples, but admittedly much of my space is taken up by stacks of tires/spares, and assorted other toys. I just don't spend enough time on the rig anymore to validate it.

I used to run an old tube TV with GT4, and in removing the large monitor from the rig I actually had to add more weight to the drawers to stabilise it.

It's a job... Has its pluses and minuses like every other job... I'd much rather be doing what I do than sitting in a cube behind a desk, the thought of that makes me homicidal... :crazy:

I have a desk, but it's not in a cube and I'm rarely at it for very long at one time. Everyday for me is totally different, yet oddly the same. :confused: In a lot of ways it's more like art class than work and the place I'm at now is way more enjoyable than any of the other print shops I've worked for. I never dread coming to work, other than the fact of having to get out of bed. :crazy: I never save anybody's life though.

I'll agree. I went to school for ACAD and architecture. Worked summers in the field. Doing drawings in front of a PC all day. This was I realized that a desk job isn't for me. This also about the time I decided to go back to work at the family business. It's what I truly love doing. Fabrication work. Now I finally get to combine ACAD skills and fab skills with out being anchored to a desk. I do spend so days in front of the PC designing and programming. However I'll be at machine doing some hands on dirty work when program is done.

Very pleased with my position at work. Always room for more money. However my freedom working for my father is almost invaluable. So I'm content. ;)

Are you sure about this? According to my math you are only trailing him by 6 points (if I toss out each of your worst results). Granted, that means you need to finish 4 places higher than him next week which probably isn't too likely but it's mathematically possible.
