Original Tracks from GT1

I've noticed none of the original fictional tracks will be on GT5. This was upsetting when I first heard it mainly because of the nostalgia that came along with it.

Wouldn't it be tight to have some of the original tracks on GT5 so you can see the advancement in graphics over the past 11 years.

Let's hope the original tracks will be part of a downloadable content back that I have no problem paying for.

What are yall's thoughts on the original tracks and the possibility of them returning for GT5?

Talk to me GTPlanet!

the only tracks we know are confirmed for gt5 are the ones from GT5P and Tokyo, with 70+ tracks what makes you think the originals won't be in GT5?

High Speed Ring is quite fictional....

I assume you're talking about Trial Mountain/Deep Forest/Grand Valley/Autumn Ring/the SS Stages though. While we haven't seen them yet, I think most people would be pretty shocked if at least some of these weren't included. They've become quite a staple of the GT series, and most of them are excellent tracks in their own right.

👍

They would be silly not to include those. Maybe Autumn Ring could be missed, but i couldn't do without the others.

For me, Autumn Ring Mini can stay. Never been a fanatic of the full Autumn Ring Mini course, especially how you were forced to race this in reverse and the Nürburgring Nordschleife in GT4 for Gran Turismo All-Stars in LMP or GTP race cars (to have a chance). I wish people would stop assuming that just because these tracks and such haven't been in GT5: Prologue or in any game demos that the tracks will be long forgotten. Who knows? Maybe Red Rock Valley and Grindelwald(?) from GT2 will make a re-appearance. And to me, Gran Turismo is not Gran Turismo without Grand Valley, Trial Mountain, and Deep Forest among others (and the Special Stage Routes 5 and 11 courses). NONE of the original GT1 courses in GT5? What about High Speed Ring?

These tracks (and maybe others) may eventually find their way into GT5, so nothing to worry about here.

I will be upset if Trial Mountain and Deep Forest are not included in GT5.

I'd be devastated! About Trial Mountain that is, Deep Forest ain't exactly stealing any thunder in my opinion. About Autumn Ring, I always had the impression it's slow and could be left out, but I recently raced there and enjoyed it a lot. So I came to realize it always depends on the cars you use. The original tracks were better suited for road cars (there were just a handful of race cars in GT). They were rather short, tracks like Grand Valley were considered long. As more and more race cars were included the tracks became longer and better suited for race cars.
Bottomline: we need the original courses for road cars (IMO).

I'd like to see Red Rock Speedway (GT2) make a comeback. For those of you who don't know, this was an awesome high-speed banked track (not just an oval, but banked in both directions). Rome Nite would be awesome, too.

So far as original tracks go, I'd be shocked if Grand Valley, Deep Forest, Trial Mountain, and Route 5 weren't included in GT5. These tracks have been in every GT (except the prologues and demos) to date. I mean, if some of these are dropped, I won't cry or anything. I'd be a little shocked, tho.

I've been lobbying for all the original tracks from all the previous Gran Turismos to appear in GT5, without having to get them by DLC. I think it's much more important to have a wide variety of tracks available in GT5 than a thousand cars, especially with the inclusion of two whole new licensed racing leagues. Hopefully, Kazunori-dono sees it my way too.

I saw the Forza 3 track list, and was appalled that the Sidewinder track was going to be milked for 18 freaking courses! I hope the team doesn't do this with a track like Complex String.

I'm crossing my fingers in hope of seeing Trial Mountain in HD glory :). My favorite GT track ever 👍

Relax guys, there maybe DLC.

Though I'd like to see some old school tracks in all of the High Def Glory that is GT5!!

;)

I think if there was a poll Trial Mountain might be the best fiction track. I would literally find someone to stab if it wasn't in the game. I am sure it is so I wouldn't make a big deal, most of the favorites will be there.

Trial Mountain has that run through the trees and the S on the back onto the start grid can make or break a 2 player race. By far my favorite track.

In the original GT I literally, no lie was#1 in the world using the Concept or Copperhead car. I played that track for 8 hours straight one day and beat the lead time by like .5 secs.(I have to boot it up to get the exact time again) I had gone back years later, I forgot all the websites that used to keep times, and I still had the best time. I'm not sure now but I was #1 for a long time.

Choosing between Trial Mountain, Deep Forest, Grand Valley, and Special Stage would be like choosing between your children. On the other hand, I do love those tracks in a very un-PG kind of way.

-> I hope that PD would not just carry-over all the tracks in GT4, but also bringing back many memorable original race tracks from past GT iterations. This is a quote of a reply that I did on the other thread:

-> Here are few examples on what I'm trying to describe:

^ And in addition to those, there is one almost unknown track from GT Concept:

The Toyota pod Race Track

^ Since Infenion/Sears Point, Fuji, Motegi, Suzuka, & Grand Valley have multi variations of one track might as well do with PD-land race tracks too. :)

Great post. I think they really ruined Midfield between GT3 and GT4 what they did with the first corner well corners now... and the curves really ruined what was my favourite track on GT3. And that pod race was terrible by the way!

They killed Grand Valley in GT4 too. GT3 Grand Valley was one of the best race courses ever but they slowed it way down in GT4 and made it way too technical thus ruining it.

They changed Grand Valley? I never noticed.

Gran Turismo 3. Notice how smooth and flowing the course is from :45-:60

Gran Turismo 4. Notice from :28 to :38 the same section of track had been needlessly over complicated by crappy double apex corners and other garbage. The result is the track is nowhere near as satisfying to race as it was in GT3, at least to me.

@ the 2nd video Earth posted- I cant wait to drive some race cars with my G25! That video, and the thought of driving that car with a FFB wheel had me drooling.

Don't forget CLUBMAN route 5. Just a short version of SSR5, but i think for Sunday cup races it is brilliant, and is surprisingly challenging in reverse too. (Plus from a designer's point of view, they can just recycle parts of SSR5 to make it, so if SSR5 is in, i expect CBR5 to make an appearence)

I want the GT3 version of Grand Valley back, the GT4 version sucked, they cut out the two S-bends either side of the tunnel, now they're multi-apex corners that you can go flat out through... Also the tight double hairpin near the end of the lap was widened a bit, so now you can get round at around 70-80mph, instead of forcing you down to 40... They just made every aspect worse. They also straightened out the last bit, so you can go flat out onto the home straight no matter what line you take :yuck:

-> I miss the old High Speed Ring (aka. HSR GT1/2 ver. or HSR '90s). I just love the camera angles of this course, plus it made Gran Turismo 'fun' and invigorating. Unlike the HSR GT4/5 (aka. HSR GT) on which is a boring Test Course wannabe, this is the course I would do more than 20 laps time attack per car. :)

:dopey:

-> And more tracks worth mentioning:

- Grindelwald

- Red Rock Valley Speedway
