Parking your car in GT4!?

^ on that note... i don't get why the garage would be limited to 200 cars. The GT save file is nowhere near 8MB at that level... it's gotta be able to hold 500 cars and still have room for replays on a memory card.

People play other games you know. I have maybe 600k of GT3 saves (game file + WRS replays of which there are 5, and a GVS replay) meanwhile I have around 2MB of Final Fantasy saves. I welcome them using so little space - but the HDD may yet make your problems disappear.
 
live4 posted a good solution in this thread... have the ability to increase your garage size in 100 car allotments. So basically when you fill your garage it can ask you if you want to designate XXKB of space on your memory card for more garage space. Then if you want to use your whole memory card (if needed) for GT you can.
 
I've had an 8MB memory card since I got my PS2 the day GT3 launched...

I've still got about 6MB left free on it... and it has plenty of saves on it... GTA3, GTA:VC, GT3, GT4:P, Some replays, All my PS1 saves (For backup reasons!!), Crazy Taxi (What a duff game!), Tony hawks 3, MGS2, Nightfire...

I don't actually understand how you guys manage to fill up your cards so much... The only reason I would get a second card is so that I can have two seperate GT3 (or 4) games on the same card... (That "feature" has always pissed me off with GT!)

I've only got 5 games for my PS2 (3 of them GT's), and I've already needed to buy a new memory card.

I'd be willing to release half a memory card just for GT4 in change of virtually unlimited space in my garage, but then not everyone is willing to do that.

live4speed's idea is a good compromise.
 
Im in exactly the same boat as yeti. I dont mind if GT4 takes 7MB's

You obviously dont have any WRC games or CMR, they take up loads something like 2mb

Plus i have a collection of about 30 PS2 games
 
Hey, look at it this way, by the time we get distributed processing and such with the PS3, it won't matter if we max out our cards, we can leech off people like Yeti and Viper. How sweet will that be?

I still think if they're going to use the HDD for anything this would be a starting point. Should yield quicker loads too.
 
Put it this way, WRC Extreme is 1.5MB and i also have a plethora of GT3 setup files for easy swapping.
 
NHL 2004 takes a ****load of space too... If you've got most of the game modes going it can go up to 3mbs.. Not including you NHL Dream Team..

i bloody would, i dunno why some ps2 games use so much, hell my morrowind save is only 2.5 mb, and think of the stuff that stores!
 
As Eagle said, everything will be fine with the HDD... Except for its price tag..
 
I would question how it would ue 7MB, GT3 is only about 200K, so Gt4 shouldn't really be any more than 1MB I wouldn't have thought.
 
We'll find out. I don't expect it to take much more than GT3 either.

OK, since you were serious, I'll give a serious answer. The game would stop, and then you would be judged how well you parked. That's if parking a car will become a license test, test.

This entire idea of parking a car as a test came from PSM Magazine over a year ago. They said PD, and Kaz, were thinking of the idea of gamers learning the very basics of driving, and handling, a car. But, it wont happen. If the parking test wasn't in the Asian version of GT4P, then parking will never be in a GT game title. Remember, GT4P was an opportunity for noobies to learn how to drive a car before the final version of GT4 hit the store shelves.

lmao. That'd be when you get told to load Disc 2 of GT4 and discover that San Andreas is included as a hidden mode.
 
The 'Parking' mode might be some sort of stunt mode, where you pull off moves like those movies we see of people doing a couple of 360s and ending perfectly in the spot.

That would be 👍 , yet exceedingly difficult.
 
If there's going to be something like that it'll be in whatever Gymkhana mode we get.

Taking out loans to buy a car and stuff? WHAT? If that happened, it would be the ONLY Game that did that (I've never seen another game do that)
