Patch 1.11 wishlist

What I'd realistically hope to see in 1.11:

-Smoke levels adjusted, fixed

-Spec-Cup online races (everyone in the room has to use the specific car of your choosing, in the exact same state of modification, with some colour choices and as many setup options as you allow).

-Split-Screen garage list changed to simpler version with just car names and power (no loading of 3d image which takes far too long, scrolling all the way to the right of a 100 car list for 2 players is a real chore).

-Options or sliders for in-car view "effects".

-Global setting for grip reduction ("Real-Always")

-Practice mode 1 make cup races- AI use the exact car you use, not a stock version like they currently do.


Less likely:
-Proper wheel rotation animation, not this 180degrees lock-to-lock or whatever it is, which makes a muscle car look like it steers like a go-kart.
-Wet roads which look wet. (They just don't at the moment).
-Track builder options, manual adjustment of finer details, individual corners, direction of travel, point to point, tighter courses.

I am against this :D

Car ownership/maintenance was always a very important part of GT philosophy. Manual care for your car is the single best RPG element of GT philosophy and although it is somewhat time-consuming, it is also a beautiful touch made in order to connect you to your car. It develops sense of obligation and forces you to take care of your vehicle.

However, what I would like to have added is an actual and visible progressive "percentage" of wear.

You should not being able to "see" it automatically - instead through some kind of "Diagnostic Center", introduced in GT Auto shop. You should get into the car of your choice and then run it through diagnostics for, let's say, 5000 Cr. In result you would see the overall condition of your engine and chassis in that "progressive percentage". After the results you can opt to do Refresh process if you like.

I have a few things which I want in the game.

The ability to buy paints.
Retractable sun roofs and convertible hoods.
Spa.
Online Leaderboards.
The ability to buy helmets/suits.
British Speed Hillclimbing.
Premium Caterham 7.
Premium CRX Del Sol.
 
Just to tell you guys, because of some very rare coincidences, I got to know that Kazunori reads this forum.
There are some others in his team that follow here as well...
My cousin half Japanese half brazilian live in Tokyo, she met Kaz somehow in a bar and kept talking to him for hours.

They certainly discuss ideas and improvements based on people's thoughts.

My humble opinion is: We need more tracks, we need all DTM and F1 tracks
It could be paid Add-on... but it so important
 
We definatley need more DTM cars, hopefully all premium as well. It would be nice to have some more WRC stages.

I doubt we will get Forumla 1 in the patches but it would be cool to have something like Formula Reanault or Formula Ford in the A Spec careers.

Turn off all trade limits.
Make cars more accessable. A UCD with 200 cars at a time and a button to update it to 200 more models
 
i read an interview with kaz, that the area he is most proud of was you could adjust every individual component of each car practically. Id like to see that.

also sort the reflections on the cars. they seem fine using bonnet view on nurburing nordschliefe.... but every other track is riddled with pop in reflections. you'd have thought nurburing nordschliefe would be more difficult to maintain given the length of the track and constantly streaming textures etc.

- Return to seasonal events menu instead of main menu after race.
- Bring back the test track
- New levels of a-spec racing. ie Add another 10 levels and very hard races. (think of how *cough* WoW does it)
 
Stop crashing. It crashes every day now. A-spec, B-spec. Can't pin it down, but it appears that the menus disallow further commands, thereby the game goes into suspended animation, allowing no input.

I reckon there's two factors here: willing and ability. Do PD actually want to have mid-race saves and are they capable of adding them?

I can't help thinking that the problem lies with option 1 in that PD don't want to allow users to save in the middle of races. Why is a differnet matter. Maybe to stop "cheating"?

When it comes to the ability side of things, I wonder if there is a problem here as well. If you think about everything that is going on at any given moment in a race, the amount of data required for a save must be massive, so how realistic is to be able to take a snapshot at that point and then be able to restore it without anything changing? Though didn't Le Mans 24Hr on the DC have mid-race saves?
 
Make it possible to take screenshots from the in car camera so we can show the full interiors PD have created.

Rain/day/night on all tracks.

Make a helmet/suite store, where you can purchase them, though you have to win some of the special ones (Stig helmet comes to mind for winning stuff)

Merge A-Spec and B-Spec for Endurance Races that are longer than 2 hours long.

Give the course maker more options, like place-able chicanes, sharp hairpins.

Hmmm, never thought of it that way, that could maybe, be why, the amount of data being used may complicate things, but still, ive heard many times that they were gonna add that feature. Don't know if it was a rumor or fact, as i heard it a while back.
 
1.) No constant freezing on the loading screen.

I think I've spent more time resetting the PS3, because of this, than playing the actual game.


Oh and 2.) No more outfits, more premium cars and a few track additions. I do not care about outfits, its a racing game and I bought it to drive cars. Not be a candidate for Gran Turismos Next Top Model.
 
Fix the damn wheel support; 900 degrees of rotation for every single car is a joke.


An option should be made available on the driving options menu to change wheel range between; 180-900



- Point to point stages in course maker for every non-Kart theme
- More course maker themes
- Manual mode to manipulate track creation; corner placement, elevation, etc.
- Remove your default FFB setting on the formula and rally cars/mode, and allow us to use our own setting.
- Fix the excessive wheel vibration when running high down force with the Ferrari F10
- Manual cockpit camera adjustments
- Unlock the chase camera (like GT3 and GT PSP)
 
1. DLC (cars/tracks)
2. Livery Editor
3. Drag Racing (could be DLC)
4. Realistic drafting
5. Restrictor plate configuration for NASCAR when racing on Daytona
 
I'm all for the saves in enduro races
player controls in relpay. I can't believe they don't have that.
I want them to add Road Atlanta as a track.
I used to love racing that one on Sports Car GT back in the day.
It's my 'home track' so I know it by heart ;-)

As feedback maybe but its PD's baby we shouldnt try to force them to shift in our direction, its their creation not some crowd source endeavour

I do agree with your points, it just dont agree that people should feel PD should do these things just because we (or some of us) want them

That is a BS statement. the GT franchise is a commercial product, built to sell to the widest comsumer market they can get to. And we are the comsumers. So unless they want to make GT a hobby and don't care if they sell any more, our opinions on changes are valid and they should listen. Good companies have market research departments as they want to make their product better, more accessable, more desireable to comsumers. PD has a pretty valuable 'marketing department' in these threads to find out what works, what doesn't, and even to gather new ideas for things to be implemented in future downloads or future interations of the game.
 
This may sound stupid but I would like to have the ability to rename my cars. For example, when you put a spoiler in the Ferrari California, it also gains a roof. So I could, for example, rename it to California Coupé or GT or something:)...but that will not happen.
 
Not a bad idea. Just the ability to do nicknames for each of your cars would be enough and you could call it whatever you wanted. Probably with a profanity filter or whatever for online. lol

I think you two guys might want to try putting some fans on/around your PS3. sounds like cooling problems as I have not had an issue with GT5 in at least a month now. I'm banking on the reason for fixing is the fans I put at the top.

try it out, it might be the solution.

That's all. It'd take them 5 minutes to program it lol and just have it as its own patch for christ's sake.
