Ok, for the first id like to say im not against paying some cash for some cars and tracks afcors whit some reasonable prices but whit the new update this will come to almost 30e for now.. and i didnt get any new tracks that we all wanted that bad.. so if the DLC is coming every 2 month this will mean that i will spend throo the whole year around 60e.. or maybe more..

Right now i realised that gt5 was a scam of a life.. unfinished game.. they didnt have time to make premium cars.. yea right!!!

Judging by that gt5 will be the most expensive game out there.. am i the only one seing this..???

p.s. im a big gt fan folowing the series but these things just provocate me to say and ask these things..

The people who play gt5 usually have jobs, so that amount PD asks for is not too hard to scrounge up. They dont just arbitrarily post a price.

Firstly who is WE.....did you not like Spa, Kart Space, or the new route X. No racing game gives new tracks as dlc for every two months (not modding).

Secondly, DLC is optional....if you do not like it do not buy it.
I dont think you quite have the concept of what DLC is.

Yes, if they do release DLC every month or two it's going to be a fairly expensive game in the long run, but when you think that it's only 10e a month it's really not that bad. All DLC for all games is expensive in proportion to what you paid for the full game, you basically get a fraction of the content for about a quarter of the price. However, DLC is completely optional so if you think it's too expensive simply don't buy it.

If you go to say to 100euros.. what other game is taking that amount of money..?

I play gt and gt only, no other game..

I large amount of people who play GT5 are in fact under 18, so probably don't have jobs.

I'm confused how everyone complaining seems to not realize this.

It is if they are trying to sell me the track.. thats not right.. cars are ok but tracks is not.. maybe im wrong and if i dont bye it i cant drive it..

???

Can someone just for comparisson mention some other game pricing.. like i said i play gt only..

I do agree that the test track specificaly should've been in from the start, but as for the rest...

That is a question I've never considered: Do PD actually exist as living, breathing people? Or are they incorporeal beings who create videogames using ancient wizardry that allows them to exist across two planes? The latter would certainly explain why they sometimes have such problems with PR.

Oh. You meant "why are they releasing DLC when people want DLC" rather than anything philosophical? Don't buy it and wait until it is reused in GT6 if it bothers you so much. I know people who did the same thing with the Forza 3 DLC and they seemed perfectly happy with their decision. Similarly, I'm planning on buying this round, but have no intention of ever purchasing the second car pack.

If i dont bye it i cant drive it, get it..

Yes so don't drive it if you're not prepared to pay. It's not like it's a game breaker. You can still play GT5 without it.

Forza 4 60$
XBL subscription 50$
12 car pack... 12*7= 84$

Are you happy now?

Large Amounts does not translate to majority. And even teens have jobs, so it's still a fair point.

Unfinished game.. yea right..

Thanks for the answers guys, your been of a lot of help.. cheers..

I'm confused how everyone complaining seems to not realize this.

I know, I buy each years Tiger Woods PGA game every year and sure enough a week after release the DLC starts rolling out, usually 1 course is about £4 or £5 and on average there's about 20 DLC courses in total, but here's the thing, I don't complain about them because I don't think it's worth it, I just don't buy them. It a simple solution and it works and would work just as well with GT5 for the people who complain about DLC.

iRacing cost me $65 for my first year and to buy one additional track that I wanted. I do not have access to all of their tracks - like 8 or 9 now nor all of their cars. Next year it will cost me $150 just to be able to access and play the tracks/cars that I have now.

GT5 is a deal compared to that.

Spa was voted the most wanted track, on these very forums and it was the clear winner by a massive margin, and they gave us Spa.

So how did they not give us a track that "we" wanted? I think its absolutely awesome and amazing value for money that they are still updating and improving this great game after a year.

I've spent the same money on plenty of games that did not get any of the support that PD put into GT5, the ammount of work they put into the game for a non subscription based game is quite honestly amazing.

Sure, the cost adds up after a while, but at the same time, its guaranteed new content. You're not just giving them money, you get something in return. Some people play subscription based games, paying monthly for the same game. We can play GT5 for free, we don't even have to pay for use of the Playstation Network (unlike x-box, event though its quite inexpensive).

I never said majority. I said a large amount. Your point? I will concede on the jobs point though, but they typically don't earn as much.

If I was to avoid buying DLC then I would like many lose out. I think the main issue is the fact that GT5 was unfinished and thin on the ground at launch, and still is in many areas despite free and paid content being added post launch. In some areas it had more than GT4, like online, revised Bspec etc, but allot has been cropped away or not finished to be possibly held back as DLC

Test course as an example was in the last GT and the one before that. Arguably we should have had it in GT5 from the start. Now if we want it we have to pay extra via DLC. I think that is what the issue is here for many that object to this content drip feed we are now getting.

If the consumer wants a full/rich GT5 experience at least equal in terms of content to GT4, then we will have to buy the DLC to fill in the holes.

I have no objections to DLC. It is great for the consumer, and helps the industry in these harsh economical times. I just object to content either being held back or left out so that PD and the like can earn a buck or 2 extra.

I think it has to work for both, so a bit of fairness is in order.

Saying that though, GT5, even if stripped down in many ways vs GT4, it is still a content rich game, with allot more to offer and do vs many others.

As consumers/gamers, we always expect the next game in a franchise to offer all of the same as a previous title and much more. This gen gaming has been a learning curve for console devs, and to develop a game does take allot longer and does cost allot more, yet game prices in many countries have not jumped up in prices like they should have, instead you pay via the DLC.

Firstly who is WE.....did you not like Spa, Kart Space, or the new route X. No racing game gives new tracks as dlc for every two months (not modding).

That's one way to look at it, another is that they've given us one real track, one kart track (much smaller and less work) and are going to give us a test track (much less work, copy and paste) in the space of 13 months.

To take it further you really gets your money worth also. My beer cost me 10 bucks and I'm finished with that if not that day defiantly the next. With these DLC you use them for ever. At 20(rounded to the highest) buck every two months I cannot believe people still complain, and for the fact your not forced to buy the content.

I do agree that the test track specificaly should've been in from the start, but as for the rest...

The fact if we want to use the old test track we have to pay cause if we DON'T pay for DLC we won't have the cars or tracks to make this game complete so of course cars and tracks that interest us gonna make us want it but especially when we see previous free tracks from GT4

I never said majority. I said a large amount. Your point? I will concede on the jobs point though, but they typically don't earn as much.

Yeah my bad for assuming.

But DLC is priced strategically where it may look expensive over the long term but is actually conparable to many other media outlets (movies for example).

GM are you for realz???

You sell an unfinished C6 for 50k which I think is a scam and now you release a ZR1 which will cost me double the money??? Are you for realz? Just checking an option at mah dealership will cost me double the money? For just 200HP more I have to pay double the price of the car???? You're losing me as a fan...

Yup. That ridiculous sounds your rant. Don't want it? Don't buy it, simple. They aren't forcing you to pay their reasonable and competitive rates.

No we're not forced to buy it but did you consider we want to have the content but not at the price point offered? The large oval and associated speed tests were in GT1, GT2, GT3, GT4, on the disc. I enjoyed using the feature. They stripped it out of an unfinished GT5 and now they're adding it back in but want me to pay an extra £3.20 for it. I want to use it again like I did in previous games but I'm not paying that for it. Yes it's not a lot of money on it's own but it's relative, I only paid £35 for the whole game. I'm not paying nearly a tenth of that again for something that should have been on the disc.
