The loss of life that happend in Japan from the Tsunami has nothing to do with some people criticising GT5 .

There's a difference between complaining and constructive criticism. Complaining is (basically what goes on here half the time) for example, "wtf i wanted a lamborghini and they give us these crappy touring cars". While on the other hand, with constructive criticism would be more like this, " I like the new touring cars but it would be nice if PD could have done something else" or something along those lines. :)

To be quite honest, what you labeled as a complaint is probably the more helpful.

The only difference between your examples is that one might be considered rude, but that doesn't have any bearing on how informative it is.

A think of better set of examples would be this:

Complaint - "These touring cars are terrible"

CC - "These touring cars are terrible, I want more Lamborghinis instead."

CC - "These touring cars are terrible because they're ugly."

The real difference between an empty complaint and CC is that in the latter, a solution is given/suggested or the problem is identified.

... in the 15-25 age range and hence don't like anyone criticising what they're "into". I'm not saying ALL are 15-25 though and not all 15-25s are immature.

this made me LOL - what are you saying?

think a poll would have been easier, because discussion is getting sterile

There is so much left though in GT5 that is broken. Looks PD, fix the broken stuff, then focus on DLC. That is all we want. Is that too much to ask?

A piece of software is never complete or fixed, there are always bugs. The fact that they are still working on the game a year down the line is a good thing. World of Warcraft is still getting patches adjusting things, 7 years down the line, it's also one of the most succesful games of all time, and is still the most played online game. But they continue to patch it, the work is never done.

The same reason why we have Windows service packs, the same reason we have any update in software. Most game companies don't bother.

That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying fix all the current in-game gltiches/freezes etc, and then focus on more DLC. I'd prefer to play a game that isn't going to be freezing all the time or a game where there are a lot of bugs in general. I want a complete game first and a proper game first before we get more goodies.

What? The OP is basically saying "take it easy on PD because a bunch of peopled died in the Tsunami" What does that have to do with people giving their opinion on GT5?

I could see if PD got wiped out but they didn't.

Don't try to defend PD by bringing up a Natural Disaster..They have nothing to do with each other. Now do you understand?

I think your title should be PS3 Damned if you do, Damned if you don't. It has been a full uphill battle no matter what sony/devs have done with the system, and they still get pooped on.

It's funny how people, even though they all knew exactly what will be in Spec II, still moan and complain.
Just ignore them.
I'm very pleased with Spec II, a little bit dissapointed at the DLC - again Japanese cars, no GT1/DTM as I hoped and only 1 track which is great but very overrated, I would've loved Mt Panorama a lot more than Spa but whatever, Spa's still a great track and will be a nice addition.

MMORGP is totally different case. I am not sure GT5 can last till PS4 that is why I think they need to make another game, sure it will have SPA on disk and content will not be twice but they can really polish the game in every aspects.

Having said that updates are great and hope they will do some more but they should also be working on next game

You're misinformed. PD already won! GT5 will be the racing game for newcomers and pros alike for years to come. Spec 2.0 assured that.

There's a big difference from looking at a list of content written on a website and actually getting to see the content for yourself. Example.

Before Spec 2.0: "Great, basic interior views for standard cars!"
After Spec 2.0: "Oh ****, is that what they meant, that looks crap"

Hence the reason people wait until they see for themselves until they decide what they think about it.

Many standard cars are as incredible as the premiums. Try driving the Formula Gran Turismo in cockpit view. Just racing that one standard on all the tracks in the game is worth the price of GT5 (including its DLC)!

I'm pretty sure there would be a lot less negative comments on the updates of GT5, if Polyphony Digital communicated with their fans more. It wouldn't hurt them to ask us for our opinions, too.

I think with this communication barrier, people start to assume things, which snowballs into huge expectations. Just my 2 cents...

There are about 20 standard cars with a decent interior, the rest are terrible.

I expected the perfect game at launch. And, to me, it was. I've literally enjoyed every moment of GT5--I'm constantly being blown away by everything PD has achieved and the updates consistently make it better. So yes, I think the game is better than perfect. :p And then there's how you define perfection and what your standards are, but that's a different story. What it comes down to is whether you can have fun and enjoy yourself or instead just find every flaw imaginable.

There are multiple threads on 2.0 features not advertised. And if you could tell me before the update what "changed physics" meant, you would have to be psychic.

Yeah that is a low blow to people for sure. I see what you mean, I thought you too were bringing up the disaster as a reason people shouldn't complain. I just thought I'd ask before I assumed.
Unless you want me to be like others on here and just outright assume before I know for sure.

+100

I did and it is great, I mean I wished the shift indicator lights worked, and the speedometer on the center HUD. However, I can get past all that cause it does look great, but you take it overboard with the last part. That one car is not worth the entire games worth and DLC. The car is a nightmare to drive out of the box and with the new physics of the game the car needs even more work. Cool car but there are better examples like the 2J and Toyota 7

It's a racing simulation y'all. Your opinions have nothing to do with it. You act like you design cars, manufacture parts, or manage race teams. You're nobody but a dude with a playstation account. PD does their own homework with real people that are actually involved in professional racing.

How do you know what he/she does or any of us, you'd be surprised...

No, they released 3 screenshots and it was already known many will be blacked out like PSP version. It is still better than nothing as it still gives the view from windshield as if you are inside the car. Some others are really good. So everyone should have known what to expect.

I have and lets be honest it's not even remotely close to a premium, it's not even remotely close to the cockpit view in F1 2011 never mind GT premium cars. It's ok at best. Have a look at it as close as you can in a replay photo mode, the wheel is wafer thin and attached to nothing, that mate is not "incredible"

Some of the dudes with PSN accounts on these forums are racing drivers. GT5 spec 2.0 was all i expected, nothing less and nothing more. The FGT is an unrealistic pile of crap that is not to be confused with a simulation of a real car. The crap interiors in most of the cars are exactly what they showed in the 2.0 preview screenshots.

And the result was the draft we had for nearly a year. For example.

Also, I design cars.
