No, they released 3 screenshots and it was already known many will be blacked out like PSP version. It is still better than nothing as it still gives the view from windshield as if you are inside the car. Some others are really good. So everyone should have known what to expect.

Exactly the same as a written list, a screenshot is a whole lot different than actually seeing it for yourself so people wait until they can judge for themselves and then complain about it. If they complained before they actually played it then you would be telling them to stop complaining until they've tried it. That is why people are giving their opinions on the update today and not last week.

I have and lets be honest it's not even remotely close to a premium, it's not even remotely close to the cockpit view in F1 2011 never mind GT premium cars. It's ok at best. Have a look at it as close as you can in a replay photo mode, the wheel is wafer thin and attached to nothing, that mate is not "incredible"

I have a small TV. The graphics are not at their potential for me, but if you have to look as close as you can on a decent TV set to see something wrong, you missed the point of Gran Turismo entirely. :ouch:

GT5 WASN'T MADE TO BE JUDGED. IT WAS MADE TO FULFILL THE INDIVIDUAL PLAYER'S PASSION FOR CARS AND RACING.

By the way, I also have Test Drive Unlimited 2 and they haven't fixed that game at all. (For those who say PD don't support their games enough), they announced DLC early last spring and it hasn't come out yet. :irked: Also, it's physics stink.

You're missing the point of what I was saying, someone said the some of the standard interiors were "incredible" I was pointing out that they're far from that.

Don't talk to me about TDU2, I've ****ing had it with that game!!!

Tenacious you always use that same post any time some one utters the word Forza...do you have it saved or something. Let's get it straight for everyone GT is not something without flaws and GT5 shows that...so let's just get real and be fair to every racing sim here.
You obviously didn't read my post at all. I do believe I didn't heap praise on GT5 for being God's perfect gift to the racing world. By the way, may I have your permission to discuss Forza in the future, your highness? Especially when someone else brings it up first? PLEEEEEEASE? ;)

I'm pretty sure there would be a lot less negative comments on the updates of GT5, if Polyphony Digital communicated with their fans more. It wouldn't hurt them to ask us for our opinions, too.

I think with this communication barrier, people start to assume things, which snowballs into huge expectations. Just my 2 cents...
You have got to be kidding. As was said a number of times, this net world is populated largely by impatient people who read between the lines, even when there aren't any. Rather than wait three weeks for some news on Spec II, they throw tantrums wanting info. When info is given, they gripe about it. When info is unclear, they make things up, and then claim they were led astray by Kaz and complain about what they were given. When info is withheld, they gripe about it, and then make things up, and then claim they were led astray by Kaz and complain about what they were given.

How long have you been here?? You should be familiar with the routine by now. Most games, we learn juicy details within several weeks of release, maybe two months or so if we're lucky, save for teasers. Why does PD have to give info about anything six months in advance, when no one else does?

^lol exactly.

By the way, I saw this flower on Eiger Nordwand that was similar to a flower on Suzuka. How does this not prove PD won't use this same flower graphic in future DLC tracks? They probably will. OMG new tracks! When will they come? btw, I Thought I saw Test Course in the new opening video. Read between this one.

I've been reading through a lot of the threads since the update & the amount of bitching & whining is just incredible. Everyone knew what was coming, so why so surprised? PD just can't win. Sure, the game was shoddy at launch but PD worked to make it better along the way with minor updates. (Patches, seasonals, etc.) Sure, they could maybe have done more with spec 2, but as said before, we knew what we were gonna get. Kaz also stated a year ago that the launch was just the beginning & that GT5 was going to evolve. It's doing just that. Do people really expect the perfect game in one major update?

Remember what these people have been through & that they also have lives... Sheesh! :indiff:

I think you hit the nail right on the head there. PD is never going to be able to please everybody, that said, I am not very impressed with the DLC cars overall but I am sure there will be others down the road as they will be an added revenue stream until GT6 is ready. In the meantime I picked up a copy of Forza 4 (really like a number of the cars they offer), so now instead of wasting a lot of time complaining, I can see just how good or not good the other side is. Now back to racing! :)

Actually smart ass I was asking a question seriously, because I did read it and it looks the same. The last part was just me saying what I seem to say more and more of now days. I was saying in general that people should look at all games with high expectation. Sorry to be honest I need to fix how I type certain parts so it doesn't look like I'm directing it only at you or someone else.

No problem I just like to be respectful sorry for asking you or acting crazy with the "What???" as if I hated your comment, I was just curious.

Its cool dude. It's kind of hard to judge sarcasm over the internet :D. I apologize if i came off as a abit of an ass. Most of that was directed at the OP.

Okay, I'm not sure what you're saying. That me just mentioning Forza because someone else mentioned it... what? What am I allowed to say or not say? What opinions am I allowed to have around you? If Forza is mentioned, do you want me to shut up or something? Am I telling the truth, lying? What?

I'm being serious, now. Do I have the right around here to speak my mind? Or do I have to get my posts approved by you?

What the hell are you talking about now, I was just asking you a question and even told you that the other part was me simply speaking my mind on other things I keep seeing in this thread. No one ever said you needed to get them approved, so how about you just act right instead of doing this tantrum just cause you didn't understand me even after I cleared it up for you. You also are off spouting how I didn't read your post though I did, yet I've argued with you on countless threads where you haven't read my post and many others yet argue with us like you did. Obviously you didn't see what I said and told you sorry if you thought I directed something at you that I didn't. But oh well!

Oh look, it's the other board "mentor"...

Seriously dude chill out, no one said you can't like Forza.

Oh look, it's the other board "mentor"... weren't you done with us fankids who don't know a good racer from Mario Kart?

Oh look, it's Tenacious D acting like he normally does.

And you know what? If you are gonna pull crap like that? Yeah, I'm back. I think I'll be a bit more focused from now on, though.

That's fine. Just don't expect me to give you a "tup" to everything you say.

And LMS, I'm sorry, you lost me somewhere, so sorry for the rant.

This is kind of what I meant, only you have worded it better. It's the misleading communication which makes things unclear, which makes people assume wrong things. I'm talking about stuff like the interior views before GT5 was released. Because of GT5's vague information, most of us believed that ALL cars had premium interiors, and 150 (or whatever) of those had interior damage. Polyphony never gave us any clarification on this, and in the end we were all disappointed by the standard cars.

Same thing happened here a few months ago. We discovered those original track logos hidden on the GT5 website, the rumors spread... the expectations became high for the 2.0 update and DLC. PD never bothered to play-down those rumors, and we were all suprised not to see these tracks available for DLC as a result.

You know what I mean. :) We need a Q&A session with Polyphony every few months.

Why would they feel the need to pander to childish speculation? And WE found those logos? We didn't. Someone else did.

Why not work with the customer, so many other games do it, is it so bad to understand why they want PD to be more vocal? Also you grasping at straws with the logo thing, the poster used it as an example to sum up some of the issues they have with PD, it's not their entire argument.

I find the praise for Spec II even stranger than the bitching.

I know it's nice that they are updating the game and all, but they do not deserve to be praised for spending a year to add features that most other racing games ship with on day-one.

👍👍

Very true.

Problem is people can't accept that and when you add in how much time PD had to make the game for the lamen who is just new to this. Then the enthusiast want to sling more mud at you. They'll low ball every other sim, but paint rainbows and unicorns when it comes to GT. I use to think I was a GT fan which I am in my own way, but when I saw the GT fan base from this sites perspective I realized I don't even want to be labeled with such people that disconnected from reality. I'm sorry, but I realize that I was really just a racing/car fanatic or nut to begin with when I picked up GT1 so many years ago to fufill the want to drive fast.

Yep they said if they couldn't simulate weather conditions and how they would affect driving physics realistically, they wouldn't do it. Why add a feature that is gimmicky and pointless?

But apparently, some people would "celebrate seeing the early morning eerie blue light of dawn breaking through the trees before the full midday sunshine"... Brings a tear to my eye... Now can we just get on with driving some fine looking cars on some fine looking tracks already?

People go on about night driving and weather, but let's be honest now only a few tracks on GT5 had weather & or night driving, so doesn't it rain or get dark in the other tracks then ? So that's unrealistic too then if you want to go down that path. Now if EVERY track had changeable weather & night & day driving then you could gloat, but it hasn't. Cmon, I've got GT5 and hate driving in the rain and hate night driving especially the rally where you can't see a bloody thing. I'm happy it's dry & daylight as that's how you get the quickest times and smoother driving experience.

SMH violently lol

It's just.... ahhhh. It makes me want to laugh and not laugh all at the same time. haahaha

Why cause they actually make sense, blame PD for labeling this game as real driving/racing sim. If you're not going to make conditions on all tracks realistic, then it's not realistic that simple. Sorry but it's the truth, maybe next time they'll be more detailed and say "The partial reality driving sim"

But then GT5 has things that no other racing game has period.

It's all priorities, and what you think is more important is subjective.

Always 2 sides to the coin.

Whatever this "praise" is , is deserved regardless. What other game changes the dynamics of the games and not just adds content? For Free. It's almost like a PC game.

If you don't know what then I can't explain. I'll give you one of the hints.

Why add a feature that is gimmicky and pointless?

What does that make the whole Forza series if time change and weather tracks are gimmicky and pointless.

I'm not going to add anything else to this thread after this post because I'm a little afraid quite frankly. Afraid that someone else would say this,

"If you're not going to make conditions on all tracks realistic, then it's not realistic that simple."

I am very wrong for ever thinking PD consisted of gods that program video games by picturing it.

That simple? That's very funny

How do you not understand what people are getting at...

Let me dumb it down for you. Daytona is known for some massive races like the 24h rolex which has seen rain and shine as well as night and day. Yet the real driving sim called GT5 doesn't allow that for Daytona. So how can you call it realistic when you can't do all the real world things you see go on at daytona?

Maybe you'll get it now. All you've done on these threads is make us seem dumb but not go into detail or analysis of how. Collecting quotes and acting all high and mighty with a super ego doesn't add to an argument. It just makes you look intellectually inept.

EDIT: Also have you actually played Forza 4 yet, if I were you I'd actually go and at least test it with a friend (if possible) then make comments about it.
