I cant work out why people are annoyed at others gifting themselves cars and the like. Comments like " All my hard work earning money for cars is ruined" and "Online is now dead".

What difference does it make to anyone else?

Guess what!! When I play Monopoly I try and sneak money out of the bank while nobodys watching!!! The rules dont forbid it.

Im truly sorry to all of you who can no longer play Monopoly as its just not worth the work when you know somewhere in the world, Im making it easy for myself.

Oh, and this will make online even better IMO. Online racing is what its all about and now everyone will have the right car.

«I so smart I just stole a car and you can do it too if you do this...» thats what I think was very stupid because maybe in a week or two we wont be able to backup owr saved games data anymore. You could have done the clonned car trick before the patch - all you had to do was loose a few hours making a total backup of your PS3, formating the disk and restoring it again - I didnt see anyone brag about that before the patch but now maybe you wont be able to gift cars to your friends anymore more or at least in GT6 And that wasnt very smart. You can play the game and exploit it the way you want but do it in a smart way please so that you dont ruin it for everyone else - exploiter or no exploiter.

thats fine by me, cuz i sure as hell wont be buying a future GT series game.. GT5 will probably make me switch to an XBOX in the future. only reason i always bought a ps1, ps2, ps3 was cuz of gt..

Polyphony Digital is owned by Sony. I highly doubt you will ever see anything made by PD on any platform other than a Sony one.

I agree with most of what you said but that just doesn't make sense. The right car? I don't know about you but in a game with 1000 cars using one car over and over again in an online race is the most boring thing ever.

Because you're posting so much nonsense about "achievements", "work", "effort" and nothing at all that indicates you're actually playing the game to enjoy it. You're getting snarled up over other people getting things out of a game without putting in the "work" to an extent that suggests you do value "achievements" in games far too highly.

Maybe you do indeed lead a balanced life focused on more meaningful achievements - as you say, I don't know you - but your posts definitely don't reflect that at the moment. In that case maybe you need to take some time out, calm down and get some perspective on what you're ranting about.

Im not talking about the X1 in particular. I dont have it and it doesn't look like that much fun from the vids Ive seen. What I meant was that when Im racing online I much prefer it when we are all in the same car. The racings closer that way.

With these new 'cheats' I imagine all cars will be available in abundance.

When some proper GTP organised races go up it will be no problem for a friend to gift you a car if you dont already have it.

It is technically possible to cheat before the update, relatively quickly if you just had GT5 game data on your console, would take longer if you had more demos, videos and music. You could just backup your console to USB HDD, trade all your cars to another account, then restore your PS3. This update only made it quicker to cheat but I personally prefer to have the option to backup my game save. People forget that you could cheat in all previous games which include GT1,2,3,4,5P via a completed game save. At least it is not like in Prologue where anyone could use anyones save. I have personally not used any birthday cheat, or this sort of new save game cheat and don't intend to. It annoys me though that people can get 20million credit cars without much effort. I don't get why PD decided to include the really expensive cars for Birthdays and the cheaper cars for prizes for A/B-Spec and Special Events.

PD should lower the car prices down especially for the expensive ones, say if you get all Gold in all events and Level 40 in A-Spec and even B-Spec to acknowledge your Virtuosity status and to help you get started seriously in the various online races with a lot more variety of cars.

Exactly... it's not like this means people can suddenly copy cars, they always could. It just puts and end to screwing over people who want to legitimately save their work in case the system fails (which is not exactly improbable)

If enough people complain about it, PD will eventually ban all rare cars from being traded or something similar(maybe even unique IDs for every car). You could blame the cheaters or the whiners for that.

You do realise PD are smart enough and have locked the game saves to specific PSN ID with this update but now allow the game save to be copied. However the cheat involves backing up your save, then gifting cars to other accounts, then restoring your save with all your cars back enabling you to have multiple sets of cars to trade with.

I personally thought the game was about who could DRIVE the fastest. I didn't realize it was about having the best car (which everyone can eventually get so whats the big deal there?).
So you cheat and get an x1 and Minolta. Lets see you take a Group C Car and we go to a technical track. I'll get all the enjoyment I need from the game then because if you haven't figured out how to drive well enough to earn it, you will be beat by me so badly the only fun you'll really have from then on would be a griefer just running around backwards.

I think the fact that so many are willing to mess about deleting files and exiting and reloading the game over and over to get 1 car at a time should be valuable market research for PD.

Its been brought up a lot since GT released that many will never experience the games 1000+ cars and some will probably never experience certain tracks. Not everyone has the time to unlock everything and earn the credits to buy their favourite cars.

Others want it the hard way and enjoy the challenge of progressing through the game sampling all it has to offer. Its all about the grind.

When you install GT6 it should give you the option of a challenging and rewarding game that requires progression or a pick up and play, where everything is available from the start.

No, it was always like that. The only changes PD have made were to remove the easier ways of getting around the cap.

The good side of this and I didnt realize it before is that the cheaters will be bored soon with all the stuff unlocked and all the cars that they dont know how to drive in their garage and they will stop playing the game and leave the online for those that really do enjoy the game for what it is and I must admit I was stupid not to see that its a win for all.

So I have to apolagize to everyone for creating the thread (wich served only to make me feel more confident for the future of GT5 internet gameplay) and ask the cheaters exploiters to do it quick get them all and get tired of the game the sooner you get it all the better and I hope you enjoy it a lot while your at it because I plan to enjoy it a lot more for a lot more time.

Its just a shame that when I give a good car to a good friend it wont mean the same thing

I'm kinda bummed about the whole car duplicate thing.
I usually dont really give a damn about what people do with their game, as long as they keep their duplicate item out of the online stage.

I worked my ass to get an X1, spent countless tries over a week to get bronze using a DS3. In fact I had to buy a 12 pack to a good frend in exchange of his G25 to finish it.

Yeah I agree, anyone who says the saves should have stayed locked obviously has never lost a gamesave due to a PS3 hardware failure. Whatever everyone else does I don't care, as long as I can backup my save that was all that matters.

I'm so glad they put this right, locking the save only annoys the honest gamers. The cheaters will cheat whatever you do.
