Are you the freakin' car-fashion police? Last time I checked, anyone could paint their car any color they want, regardless of whether you approve or not. I have seen some pretty hideous looking cars, but they are not my cars, and not your cars, either. Please find something more productive to do with your life, and stop wasting our time with these threads!

You forgot this Mike

I like using my Lime green GTR with LFA pink wheels as a diversion when I'm racing online. Usually I get people focusing more on the car than on the track.

It's ugly as sin but it gets the job done.

Only thing i know is, if you leave your ferrari red, then everything is fine :p

Incidentally, almost everything in my garage, standard or premium, is in Midnight Purple III with Gold Chrome wheels. Hope this helps.

Can you post a picture of the Daihatsu Midget in that color combination? I'm curious to see what it looks like :dopey:

matte black only on cars with smooth lines, eh?

i apologize for offending your sensibilities, but an RM'd 1970 Challenger is smurfin' hot with a matte black finish. and, sexy as she is, that's not a "smooth line" car.

Iagree with the OP and comments.. its all matter of taste but there are some rules in tuning cars :) it just have to look right!

Sol_Badass's guide to bad taste in car modifing/ Paint in this game. <--- new thread name..

Personally don't agree with one point you have made lol.

Thought I'd offer-up my own guidelines when it comes to changing a car's aethetics/appearance that I hope everyone strictly uses.
(Please note, I consider "changing a car's aesthetics/appearance" to be any action that alters the look of a totally unaltered car.)

What is the reason/purpose behind the change?
a) Total FORM - see #1 below
b) Part FORM, part FUNCTION - see #2 below
c) Total FUNCTION - see #3 below

1. Since it's all about the form, the only guideline is "go for what you find that you like"
2. As there's a dual purpose, the guideline here is "go for what you find that you like while placing consideration to improvement of function directly proportionate to the functional reason/purpose for the change"
3. Since form is a non-consideration, the only guideline is "go for optimal improvement of function"

The reaon for this thread to begin with was what???

(Take two "sarcasm" pills, and call me in the morning!) 💡

Peace...

HD, that Charger looks amazing in that Matte Black, especially for a Standard.
And yeah, everyone has their own opinions and tastes, so don't tell people what (not) to do just because you hate it.

No, but I think people telling others how to do things is getting really old.👎

EDIT - That matte black Charger looks good BTW!

Thanks guys :)👍

Am I the only one that agrees with the OP?

He doesn't like strange wheel/body color combos and neither do I. But I shouldn't care if people are doing that online or not. The only problem I have here is that someone is telling other people how to do things, and it seems like he's being serious.

This, probably. Sounds more like an opinionated thread than a serious problem that should be resolved.

I'm no fan of fugly wheel/body color comboc, but I don't care what others do. For me, I'll like being different. Having a car looking unlike anyone else is a great way show who your are. If anything, I support even more customization. Freedom to tune!

1. Do not waste matte and chrome on standard cars.
Lord almighty of Gran Turismo 5, I'm going to go ahead and defy your orders.
People have their own tastes and can do as they please with their game. They paid for their copy.
Going to go paint my standard Subaru STi matte pink with gold chrome wheels.
