Looks fine to me.

Wow an NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car race? That must be fun. Mine was silver chrome too but then I changed it to matte black to try to imitate the stealth model (although it doesn't come out even close). I don't even know it's original color.

My Ferrari Enzo is painted a purple/blue/brown Mazziora color on white five spokes. Problem? :grumpy:

What boredom can do to you... :/
Hybrids don't deserve love

In "Curious Yellow" as it's called.

Tried to see what bad color combos I could make, not sure it's as bad as most would see.

Why do people put spoilers on cars that just don't need them? "Yeah dude, that rear wing will really help that massive overseer on 4WDs" :indiff:. I don't even like adding wings to high power MR cars unless I can get some front downforce to. Otherwise it just ruins the balance of the car. And on paint, Here are some guidelines.

1. Do not waste matte and chrome on standard cars.
2. Don't paint cars silver chrome or gold if you actually think it looks cool.
3. In fact only use silver chrome on rims. Never gold.
4. Matte looks best on really sleek cars, with smooth lines.
5. Metallic paint can looks really good on some standards. Nothing too jaggy though.
6. Make sure you rims look good from ever possible angle and rotation, And they don't overpower the cars paint.
7. Don't add huge front overhangs to premiums, unless you can also put in a side skirt and rear diffusers(Rarely).
8. When in doubt try solid textures.

9. I tell you how you must play YOUR game

Actually, yeah, that is kind of a problem :yuck:

Hate it all you want, but it's my car, so I could care less about what other people think. There's no such thing as 'guidelines'. For god's sake people respect other peoples' tastes!

I put wings on all my fully modded cars. It'd be rude not to.

I have learnt not to bother gold chroming standards though. If any colour shows up how basic some of them are it's gold chrome.

10. Don't tell everyone on GTPlanet what they should/shouldn't be doing with their cars, in their game, when you've got a whopping total of 15 posts!

Yep, you right mate, quite right. You should be at Renault by the time that they made this:

or at the Mercedes Benz's marketing dept to rise against this stupidity ( ilechoo.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=114&pos=5 ), such a waste of painting job in those ridiculous german tacky cars.
Thank god, though, there is not an option of racing stripes paint job chip. Petrolheads loves to put stripes in every car they owns. Maybe you should come up with this piece:" Never use stripes in non 70' s american muscle car. Paint your fiat 500 Rosso Corsa ( an atrocity, by far ) and stripes is a muder of the automototive design." And add, that never put turbo in those little low powered pre 70's stinky hatches, because the sound of it id annoying, just like the sound of pigd been drowning till death....

That's why it would be described as having the effect of adding weight, without adding mass. Strictly speaking its not adding weight as defined by the mechanics term but the resultant force acts in the same manner.

As an engineer, I would always separate thrust from weight, even if they resulting force is the same. Perhaps that is unnecessarily pedantic for this analysis of the wing though. :D

Ah, but what about the weight of the wing?:boggled:

There's no wrong way to modify your car. It's just we all have a little something called personal taste. ;)

Spoilers and wings are different things...

... Wings are useful in fast corners, by generating additional weight (note: not mass, weight) and increasing mechanical grip and in straight lines, by

Not sure I want to get into this with you, but isn't weight equal to mass × gravity.. ? Surely you just mean force.. ?

edit..

Sorry, I see this has been partly addressed... should have finished reading the whole thread prior to posting..

matte black only on cars with smooth lines, eh?

i apologize for offending your sensibilities, but an RM'd 1970 Challenger is smurfin' hot with a matte black finish. and, sexy as she is, that's not a "smooth line" car.

That is a quality finish for a awesome car.

*Quack!*

I have no problem with people tuning cars, but seeing a lemon green 458 + carbon hood + wings/spoilers makes me cry like a little baby.

You're supposed to let them ripen.

Bad taste is the only thing that'll never be out of fashion unfortunately but trying to put the do's and dont's in a very specific and highly subjective list is more akin to most 'women magazines' I suppose.
I surely have my personal do's and dont's and was actually unpleasantly surprised how many people online (and on this forum...) seem to posses completely opposite taste buds than the far superior receptors I'm fortunate to own but to each their own I guess.
In fact in some cases it can't get any worse, so please Kaz, bring on a livery editor as the arguments for it possibly bringing bad taste into GT's spic and span Utopia clearly don't count anymore.

Ive been considering modifying a Murcielago LP640 as i desperately need a quicker car than my Z06 for tuner drag racing that is NOT a Sauber.. should i do it?

I think it is nice that GTP now has a resident aesthetician. Perhaps he can start an advice column.

Mr Badass, you won't believe what I saw last night - a matte pink Odyssey and I think the wheels were Maziora Puke or something! It was awful!!! - signed, Horrified in Houston

Horrified, I'm so sorry you had to witness that! Please tell me you sent him a PM expressing your outrage.

don't i know it. :)
that image (well, the full size version) has been my desktop wallpaper for some time now. the matte black just sets it off.

the car itself is a hoot on Comfort: Softs. it's not about driving that one, it's about not dying in it.
the rear end kicks out every time you get on the gas coming out of a corner. easily my favorite car so far.

they're free to modify their cars anyway they wish, and i am free to point and laugh at their lack of taste/attempt at being an 'original'.

Not sure if it'll be faster then a ZO6 but it's definately worth doing. It's one of the few cars that looks good in Gold Chrome as well, just don't install all the Aero Parts (they are Carbon Fibre and don't look too good)

Some are good, some are bad. 3 cars that don't look great with aero parts are the R33 GT-R, SLR McLaren, and Murcielago. 3 cars that do look good are the BMW M3, Ferrari 430 Scuderia, and the Suzuki Swift.

It kinda depends on the car.

Best looking car with Aero parts definitely has to be the mclaren F1 looks like an LM but still has the shorter body and better handling.
