perhaps GT6 is falling behind.

The first page was filled with a "GT needs this to compete with Forza" war. It's important that they stay two, independent, unrelated games - because then you get a good competition between the two. If someone wants certain aspects of one game to transfer to another, great - they can learn from each other. But when they are compared as almost identical entities, with GT being a huge failure because it lacks certain features of Forza, that's when something is amiss.
So you can't quote anyone saying what you claimed at all then.

Figures.

Which is more or less what everyone is saying, which you twisted into...

I want to know how people wanting GT to become an exact copy of Forza is a valid criticism of the game.

And now you turn around and say the same thing we already said.

Can you please read the whole post, and make sense of it?

This is getting silly. I'll resign to everything you've said.

But my original point, saying promised features have made their way to us, and anyone who says they have received nothing is lying, I stick by that.

You might have had a point if PD hadn't pulled advertised features from the disc release late in the day and been advertising the updates as a part of GT6 from before the launch date (and as such very much form part of GT6), you would also have a point if PD didn't have a track record of using features that either are not available at launch or never actually arrive at all as part of the advertising of a launch and/or on the box art of the product.

However given that PD have done all of these thing that kind of undermines your point to a rather large degree.

No it was a post about updates vs new tracks, Jim then used a Straw-man argument about tracks (i.e. focused on only one part of a position to try and undermine the whole point).

Interesting, Scaff. Must admit, I wasn't aware of these things. But then, as the saying goes, "life's a *****, deal with it" I'm sure PD isn't the first nor the last company to advertise features that end up in smoke further down the line.

Why is this getting silly?

All I asked for was the post you claimed originally said that GT should be the exact same as FM. You claim the poster edited it from that, if you let me know the post I can check the post history and confirm your claim.

Now why exactly would that be silly?

And what do you think the buying public thinks of companies that do that?

Maybe now you understand why some of us are concerned by this approach from PD (particularly given that it seems to be getting worse).

Because you shouldn't have to do that for a discussion. People took my words, twisted them, and to be fair I really couldn't care less now about the whole topic.

Well given the AUP I do care quite a bit about it.

No one has taken your words and twisted them at all, you made a quite clear claim that members (myself included) asked you to back up. You stated that the post that claimed this had been edited and no longer said it, I can clarify that situation.

So can you please provide me with the details of this post.

Nobody is twisting anything. You said this:

I don't appreciate the people who feel as though GT should become Forza, because they love Forza ever so much. They're separate games, and they should stay that way.

Yet nobody stated their desire for that in the thread.

So you think if the disgruntled GT6 buyers were told sorry, we're not updating the game you paid for and instead releasing a new game with new promises they'll all be flocking to buy it? I doubt it. First rule of business it to keep your customers happy.

Nobody has said that though.
I do so, Not all GT5 players have bought gt6 and many more that have ps4 may get GT7 that have not played the game yet. So sure some players will be dissapointed but if PD says sorry we cant accomplish much more on the present technology and promisse that GT7 will have all features announced i do think many can look pass 40euros.

...and why do you think that is? Because they all bought a PS4, sold their PS3 and waited for a PS4 game? No, I don't think so.

Blaming it on the technology would only enrage people further since they already promised these features. Another simple rule of business, don't promise what you can't deliver. Why on earth would anyone believe their promises next time around if they announce they couldn't live up to the promises that came before them?

Geez, is Forza really that bad? It must unusable in that case!

They don't talk anymore - that's the problem. They talked up the product prior to us parting with our money and now that they have it the silence is deafening :-(

So far there is nothing in GT6 that a DLC could have done for GT5.

As far as GT6 falling behind is concerned, in my opinion, it NEVER got started in the first place. It is nothing more than a ramshackle, half assed, beta release!

<rant mode OFF>
This is the post that started my argument. Someone who likes Forza to the extent that he can't like GT6.

But I would like to point out that I never once stated that all the Forza related posts in this thread were of this kind.

I'm still not understanding how that leads to this...

Where did you even get that from what he said? He made one small comment regarding Forza then just posted his problems with GT. He never once said those problems were exacerbated because Forza was so good.

I don't think his first comment was even in support of Forza, I think he was surprised how few tracks it has!

That post was never edited by the poster (it was by a member of staff to merge two posts) and never contained the claimed "wanting GT to become an exact copy of Forza" at all.

So in short you seem to have made a deliberately misleading claim to try and support your point, then it seems hidden behind an edited post claim, this is behavior that to be blunt is simply not remotely acceptable for a member here at GT Planet.

I agree. Unfortunately, PD have realized that they can make a load of empty promises and people will still buy the latest sequels to their games. When GT5 was released, so many people said "I'm NEVER buying GT6" yet I bet many of them still went ahead and did after PD 'promised' this and that. I'm actually pleased with GT6 and all in all, think it's a superior game to GT5 so not complaining too much.

What's next PD?

GT7 to feature empty box? Disc to follow in future update???

As for any reference to Forza and lack of tracks......so what?????
They have gone back to laser scanning the tracks and using fresh data. Something PD will/should do at some point.

I've said it before. Forza has cut content that's better than content left in GT6.

Kaz should send a crew to rummage through T10's data bin and grab stuff lol.

Point is they didn't though. We don't have official numbers (and the fact PD haven't revealed them says a lot) but if the number being passed around of 2-3 million GT6 sales are true a LOT of people buying GT5 did not buy GT6.

I never bought GT6.
It wasn't because of GT5 though.
GT academy was the warning for me. Shoddy frame rate with only a single car on track made me give up any hope of damage modeling or sound improvements. They were to far off schedule for any of that.

Glad I passed tbh.

->Gran Turismo 6 gets a new update
->Forza Motorsport 5 gets a brand-new track.

I'm starting to think that Gran Turismo has reached it's peak.

How will they fight (and survive) Forza Motorsport 5, if they don't deliver??

Wings? Custom wings? wtf????? If I want wings i'll go to KFC, If I want custom wings i'll make them at home.I want some tracks and cars, not wings, not data logger, no some stupid GPS gadget that only works if you have the right car………

They got KFC in Portugal?

Yeah. The course maker was my reason for buying GT6, despite the demo showing GT6 was going to have problems. Now I know for sure I won't be buying GT7 because not only does PD lie too much, they don't communicate nor finish their games.

I really hope PD has something big coming up. I'm close to being done with this company froever. If this is how they want to treat their customers, I refuse to be one of them.
