Persona 5 has been announced by Atlus and will be coming 2016 in japan, it will be released exclusively on the PS3 & PS4, West release date is February 2017.

Persona 3 was awesome, haven't gotten round to playing Persona 4 yet. Since I'm in Europe I should be able to get this c. 2018. I can't really get excited as a result of that...
 
Can't wait... I'll definitely be picking up the Japanese release and attempt to struggle through all the Kanji. :lol:
 
I'm looking forward to this, but I hope that the tone of the story goes back towards 3. That being said, it's hyper-likely to be an amazingly great game.
 
From the teaser, I get a feeling that they went even farther back than 3 even... I get a Persona 2-ish vibe from it for some reason. But it's just a very vague teaser, so I could be way off here. :P
 
I haven't really been able to get into P1 or P2, no matter how hard I try... they just feel so dated compared to P3/P4, and also lack the mindblowing stylishness of the PS2-era Persona games.

But I do like the dark style and tone of Persona 2, so if P5 is like that but with a modern P3/P4-ish presentation... it'll probably be pretty sweet.
 
One thing i like about Persona is that they never feel rushed and unfinished. i just hope they don't put DLC in.
 
I will be playing the Japanese version of Persona 5 on either PS3 or PS4, depending which version comes out first, So if you guys help me translate some of the text I will add captions to each walkthrough part, who wants to translate the game with me when it comes out?

Oh and this is probably my most anticipated game of 2015.

I can relate even more to this Persona because it's going to happen in a big city :D Persona 4 for me is the best in the series by miles.
 
My only concern for this game is that, as compared to the previous installments, which were set in fictional locations, Persona 5 is going to be set in Tokyo, Japan, which is a real-life location. And since all Persona games are set in the same universe, it would be interesting to see how they are able to tie up this game's lore with the other games. That aside, I'm really looking forward to this game. Any news on this at E3 yet?

They can somehow relate to the P4 story, because Narukami came from the big city, presumably Tokio. (It never was revelead on the game though)

From the looks of it, this is possibly a leaked trailer, since it's not yet on Atlus' YT channel. Still, this is pretty sick. Made so much more awesome since the MC is voiced by Jun Fukuyama.
 
Release date for North America has been confirmed to be February 14th, 2017... Valentine's Day in other words. Rather fitting.

A bit disappointing but gives us time to play Final Fantasy XV... though it could possibly be competing for time with the FFXII remaster, depending on when in 2017 that gets released.


Also, can't believe the 4th trailer hasn't been posted here yet:
 
I'm glad there's a P5 thread.

Anyways when I first saw P5, I knew that they're going to use the game engine used for Catherine but modified. Also I love that they've given more emphasis on the free roaming aspect of P5.

So currently, who's your favorite character in P5?
